who would have thought about nose position. simple, easy and consistent with all of your other easy to understand instructions. I tell you Brian you are a gem. keep it up
Excellent explanation and clarity Brian on where the nose position is with Driver and irons! It certainly did clear a few things up for me! I guess with your older videos showing up on RUclips your library is being recycled! That goes to show you that your concepts never go out of style! I'm always learning and getting clarity from you Brain! You've become my "go to pro!" Keep up the good work!!!
Ah the algorithm. If only I understood if more. I’m glad it showing you some of my older videos. Some of them have hardly any views but they are good videos. There are about 750 of them. They add up after 9 years. Thanks for watching them and putting your trust in me John. Brian
Great video. You discussed something I’ve never heard any other instructor mention, that of “nose position”. Simplicity and execution emphasis is excellent. My philosophy in my many years of athletic coaching was that very phrase. Thanks again for your presentation.
Thanks Joe. I appreciate you took the time to let me know. Simplicity is something I am striving to get better at each and every video or golf lesson. It’s hard to do sometimes but I enjoy the challenge. I am glad you enjoyed it. Brian
Thanks Anthony. It is a bit different but I have been using that for a long time. I hope you sleep well tonight. I don't want my voice keeping you awake. Brian
Well the Doctor always nose best. Another one to add to the WWBD list when setting up. Brilliant and innovative. Stay well Brian and stay in the clips on the road !!
Very good David. I enjoyed the pun. WWBD could be filmed later today. It’s going to be 37 and not many people are on the course this afternoon. Fingers crossed. I’ll try and sniff it out for you. Brian
Hi Charlie, The nose and the ball should be in the middle of your stance for every shot you hit from the grass no matter what the club you are using. If the ball is forwrad of the middle you will be hitting slightly up on the golf ball. This is not really what you want for a fairway shot. The average strike on the PGA Tour is 2.9 degrees downward. I hope that makes sense. Brian
@@fitzygolfpro ok , so fairway wood ball position and nose position is in the middle of the stance and the only club where the ball is foward of middle of the stance is the driver, with the nose still pointing to the middle of your stance.. correct?
Hi Brian sorry for off topic comment, I recently went for a lesson with a pro who uses GC Quad, it showede sometimes I swing out to in but sometimes I swing in to out, it said my club was 4* down on the toe, I have struggled with a miss to the right even when I feel I've made a good swing, I've booked myself in for a fitting this weekend as my clubs I have are cast and can't be bent, will I see an improvement to my ball flight with a fitted set of irons ?? Many thanks.
Hey @On Par With James And Steven. Thanks for the update. Having fitted clubs is so important. If your clubs need to be 4 degrees upright that will account for some of your missed shots to the right. Cast clubs can be bent but not very much and they are harder to work with than forged clubs. You will see a difference to the ball flight given the numbers you have given me. My questions would be. 1. How is your grip? When I fit people for clubs and they show they need 4 degrees upright. A grip change can sometimes change that to 2 degrees upright. Was there any suggestion of a grip change (even as an experiment)? 2. Avoid getting you wedges (especially the most lofted wedge) in the same lie angle as your irons. You can refer back to a recent video where I explain why. I hope this makes sense. I hope you enjoy the fitting process. Let me know how it goes. Brian
fitzygolfpro thanks for replying Brian, I did strengthen my grip but this is for instance I played with my friend Saturday striped a 4 iron 190 yards divet was after tee but there was a mark where toe of club hit ground first... I was aware this was happening and I was pointing club face so far left on takeaway it should of gone bullet left. I think Toe made contact with ground and opened my face square to path, surely it basically makes my grip pointless as my clubs just catch toe and open my club face ?. I know these clubs won't make me Tiger Woods but I want my miss to be less than one side of the fairway to the other. Just wanted your opinion Brian as I've followed your advice and actually played better golf on my nine hole course but as soon as.i go to a big course I seem to struggle alot , can only think it's because I tee my ball up that it prevents toe touching turf that allows me to hit straight tee shots ?? Thank you as always Brian your a sound guy and I value all the help you give me.
The fitting is exactly what you need. If your tee shots with irons travel well but the same club from the grass goes right your clubs are definitely too flat for you. It will put the odds more in your favor. But shots will still be bad but your good swings won't produce a shot shooting to the right. I am here anytime as a sounding board but that is really all I can be this far away.
Again Brian much appreciated, I love golf and I feel I have a good game in me, when me and my friend played Saturday I only had one drop shot, and I two putted on almost every green, was chuffed with that but wayward shots.ment I shot a 108, on my little course I break 90 consistent but my course is just over 4000 yards, I love golf and I want to get better, thank you for taking your time to reply to me again. Your number 1 Scottish fan.
Followed the link from your recent Driver mistakes video, together they are great - really simple and easy to follow.
Thanks for your feedback Mark.
I am always trying to keep my coaching simple. Both in my physical coaching and my online coaching.

Thanks Jesse. Maybe I am RUclipss best kept secret. Hardly anyone knows I exist.
I won't stop Jesse. I promise.

thank you Brian, so for a fairway wood , nose is centred on the middle but ball is slightly forward of the nose position? correct?

sorry , except in the bunker where the nose is slightly in front of middle of the stance
Perfectly put Charles.
It is quite logical and simple when you think about it.
Brian
Absolutely correct.
You have learned well.
Are you heading out onto the course today?
Thanks!
Thank you so much.
I am glad you enjoyed the video.
I appreciate your support.
