It’s not about singing the high notes , anyone can do a random scream , the problem is Ken thinks by doing random screams and adlibs , that this proves he can sing the whole song , totally wrong , this man’s problem is that he can’t sing the song all the way through because he doesn’t have the stamina , I doubt he ever had it , I’m not even interested in the live stuff , what’s disturbing is when he covers songs like fortunate son on his channel, after the token Lou gramm ad-lib ,starts miming and it’s so obvious, what kind of psychology is this
If you've ever interacted on a daily basis with a NPD person, you would know that they often even tell lies in a situation when lies are unnecessary; so why don't they just be truthful? Because they get a kind of covert thrill from lying; they get fuel (narcissistic 'supply') from thinking they fooled you (you can see this now & then, when they reveal a smirk known as 'duper's delight'). This weird conduct is reflected in Ken's bizarre behaviour (and yes, we do need to be careful re vicarious 'diagnosis'). Although some of his miming/lip-syncing may be due to his singing ability decreasing as he ages, there is highly likely to be a significant NPD element to his conduct.
Ken sells his online singing course with the slogan "How To Sing Better Than Anyone Else" & promises to offer "the world's best singing lessons". The argument isn't that he can't sing, the argument is that he can't sing sustainably live, which is part of what he is claiming to teach his students. It's an issue of fraud and I think it is legitimate grounds for complaint.
Live always sounds different than pre-recorded. I am in Mr.Tampln's course and my voice is slowly comng back. I think y'all need to cut this man a break.
Ken has FAKE written all over his brow. His exaggerated gesturing, his fake singing, his fake guitar playing... And the pitch stuff is undeniable. Ridiculous.
Ken tries to confuse the issue. The smoking gun is really his 2020 live stream of Livin’ for my Lord, which Fil analyzed and then Ken responded by deleting it from his channel, which is in itself very telling). Using backing tracks and lip syncing are two different things. When bands use backing tracks (which is quite common as Ken correctly states) they are complementing their live sound (typically with backing vocals and/or keyboards). When singers lip sync, the pre recorded lead vocal is there and the singer is pretending to be hitting those notes. The criticism that Ken is facing is not about backing tracks, but lip syncing. I left respectful comments in Ken’s videos telling him he can still rock and asking him not to double-down and own his lip syncing and he has deleted them. (I have screenshots). His ego will be his undoing.
I think you’re misunderstanding the reason Fil went back that far with the statute of limitations point you bring up. Fil is saying, if the lip syncing was already happening back then, and his expensive vocal lessons are based on “the proof is in the singing”, then there is a dishonesty there that goes beyond a single live show or a single “live” stream (which Ken has since taken down, which is absolutely not a good look). So it is very relevant to the character analysis as a whole.
Why would he fake it? Hes charging $750 a lesson to teach people to sound like him when he doesnt sound like him. He removed every comment that didnt agree with him. I took pics of my response he removed. No one else removed responses except him. I basically just told him if he had admitted to it for whatever reason it would be all over. When he says in “a 100 different places” it should have been different in all places not just a 100. He actually had the audacity to say he could basically sing better than Freddie Mercury and that he was the BEST guitarist in the world!
Its kinda hypocritical to ask folks to "be critical thinkers and not believe everything in the media" when he was outed by critical thinking and wants everyone to blindly accept what he says on his platform...
This is ridiculous, the guy has a long history of working with bands touring such as Led Zeppelin/Robert Plant and other bands during the late 70's and 80's and although he never obtained the same level of popularity he's written a number of his own albums, and so forth. I've actually taken his course and it did help my singing significantly.
32:51 I noticed he says “it was me singing” which isn’t in doubt. He didn’t say “it was me singing live that night” which would be a lie. Or he could have said “It was me singing on tape from 1995” which would be true and more accurate. In the end, who cares. It just seems the Ken Tamplin vocal academy is all about Ken Tamplin. I’ll end by simply saying… Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaahh, yeeeeeeaaaaaah, yeah! Mmmmmmmmmm
Fill showed that Ken's "backing tracks" also had lead vocals in sections, which means they aren't backing tracks. Ken is defrauding his students out of their money by pretending to be something he is not.
You’re really bad at this. You need to stop talking, watch all of Fil’s videos on this, and then maybe you will understand what is going on. As a studio producer, it is obvious he fakes meaning Ken everything.
