    Just terrible that a staff member doing their job appears to have been injured by a passenger - pleased to see that the conductor was able to walk and was sitting up & talking to the ambulance crew - so hopefully he was only taken to the hospital as a precaution. So pleased this didn't happen (well in fact I feel this should never happen) when Mike set off on his epic train journey on #6

    This is no less bizarre than similar attacks on flight attendants or airport gate personnel. I am sorry the conductor, other Amtrak personnel, and passengers experienced this awful attack! I sincerely hope the conductor has recovered and is back on board, earning his living - just as he had before being attacked. I was traveling on The Cardinal from Chicago to Washington when a drunken passenger started calling the employees the "n-word." He was dumped into a waiting police officer's arms at Lafayette, IN. Stupid s.oh-bee. I think Delta maintains a "no-fly list," I don't know about the FAA or any federal agency that main tains one. But I agree with other posters that Amtrak and the FAA should control a "no-travel list" of former passengers who cause any major disturbance - like attacking a conductor with a weapon or endangering a planeload of passengers. I hope it doesn't take a passenger bringing down a plane or attacking Amtrak personnel to establish such a list and make that establishment national news - as a warning.

    • @Milwaukeeroadfan

      An assailant is when a person attacks another person unprovoked in any manner, hence the term 'assault'. In this case, unfortunately, the conductor of this train was injured after an unruly passenger assaulted him. Nevertheless, to hurt someone who didn't do shit to you is one thing, but to do it to an Amtrak conductor or any train conductor affiliated with a state commuter rail authority is a major no-no.

  • @kevinhoward9593

    how does a person attack a conductor (a FEDERAL employee) and not get arrested?

    • @_that_native_artist_boy_
      @_that_native_artist_boy_ 8 месяцев назад +2

      Propibly because the conductor decided not to press charges, also, Amtrak became an independent non-governmental organization and only really gets money grants from the government, so there is the possibility that the Amtrak conductor isn’t considered a federal employee however that is unlikely because Amtrak was formed by the government and when a company is formed by the federal government (even after not being a part of the government) the employee’s tend to still be considered federal employees

    Feel for the crew. You just never know but if one sees something of concern reach out to a crew member. I see my attendant from my trip in the background. Conductors work segments . In all seriousness most respectable videographers don’t zoom in on patients. Those of us who were in EMS don’t talk shop it was not responsible to even visually identify this conductor. They have a hard job and have to deal with what ever arises during their time on the train.
