I have my S22U, and planning to buy another Samsung Foldable when the specs match the S22U..This Fold4 do not have SPen built and the camera is not better than S22U.
Maybe the next gen of foldable will have and SPen built and better camera

People says the same thing every year about every phone; once it gets this or that then I'll buy one. STOP. No you will not. You have the same phone from 5 years ago and all the upgrades that you want have come and surpassed.
Not until it has 1, spen built in 2, same or better cameras then the Galaxy Ultra, 3, same battery, 4, less crease, 5 less boarders. But we getting there maybe the 5th or 6th generation.
I don't think making the bezels smaller would make it much better only because when you go to put a case on it a lot of that screen real estate won't be touchable. I wish it had the s-pen in the chassis but also the whole point of the S series now is to have an ultra version so it's a trade off between what you use your phone for. Better cameras and note taking or media consumption and productivity. I personally think the cameras on the z fold 4 are more than good enough than people will actually use that 100 times zoom and I'm a s22 ultra owner. The only time I use the 100 times zoom is to take moon pics lol. But the only thing the s22u has over the z fold 4 is the 108MP sensor and the periscope zoom. I gurantee you nobody will be able to tell the difference between the 108MP and the regular 12MP telescope pic if you're looking at it on your phone. I actually don't even use the 108mp setting ever. And you're still getting a device capable of 50MP. That's pretty damn good. Now the front facing camera is another debate, I don't really take selfies but you can use the z fold 4s rear camera setup which is amazing. You get 3 cameras and a view finder on the cover display.
If you've seen recent videos and tests a lot of the time the z fold 4 beats the s22 ultra so I'm not sure how much better they can make it lol.
Also it's a foldable phone... How are you gonna eliminate the crease unless you remove the hinge.. another fun fact.. the battery is better on the z fold 4 because of it's better processor.. go figure. Size doesn't matter in this case.
The battery life is better the spen would be a different task and the that crease is cuz the hinge samsung uses IS the only one that can survive underwater thus making em water resistant
Also cameras have been proven too show and even better in some cases photography megapixels only matter to an extent

Price is definitely something that will hold me back. Maybe if the specs and features would blow the s22 Ultra out the water then maybe I'd bite the bullet and get it as my second phone. I've been waiting for the 4th Gen just to get a foldable device so we'll see what they'll take for a note 10+ trade in.

@@KDC4L08 I think so. The pre order deals for the fold 4 and flip 4 are insane. Also James the fold 4 does blow the s22 ultra out of the water specs-wise: newer *significantly* better chip (the snapdragon 8+ gen 1 is actually basically a generational leap above the 8 gen 1 despite the similar name), bigger and better screen, and has a longer battery life even with the big screen (8+ gen 1 is super energy efficient). The only thing that's slightly worse than the s22 ultra is the camera but it's the same camera set as the regular s22 so still A tier cameras🤷♂️
But yes I would consider going from the s22 ultra to the fold 4 an upgrade

Had the Fold 3 but the outer display was too small for me. Maybe by the Fold 5 the outer display will be wide enough for my hands.

For those of you who are currently/have used the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold, do you feel an increase in your productivity with a wide screen on the smartphone?
What blows my mind is that samsung knows what their consumers want but they still hold back certain features. If samsung put these following things, most people would pay substantially more because it would have everything they want
1) built in spen
2) micro sd card slot
3) same or better camera than s22 Ultra. I could not do without the zoom. I use it more than I ever thought I would.
4) 1 terabyte option if no SD card

Well as for points 3 and 4, the fold 4 has the same cameras as the regular S22 (so not bad at all, though with the more powerful 8+ gen 1 chip it's actually slightly better image processing than the S22's cameras so you'll get better performance from the fold 4 there) so you *do* get samsung's second best camera set which isn't bad, and no SD card slot but there IS a 1Tb storage option
I jumped in! I ordered the gray green 1TB fold 4. Also ordered the watch 5 pro titanium. When I saw the 1tb option on the launch day, the decision was made very easy for me!! I am so excited to get my hands on this device!!

What about the S23 Ultra? The Fold series is just too bulky. The cameras on the S series will always be better and I just can’t get over the crease in the screen. Plus, it will be too big to use with one hand for anything. You might as well just carry a small tablet. And the price will be 2000 out of the door. That’s crazy
Don't under estimate the heat disappation. I went to Samsung shop and felt the back of s22 series and they feel warmer than SD gen 1+ on fold/flip 4. I considered s22 series and now I'm having serious doubts to wait for s23 or get foldables
My fold is staying really warm and I just don't understand it started within a month!

I honestly miss the old normal phones one screen like the S series. I was on s series since the s6. Then I skipped the fold 1. Cause never get anything 1st gen.
Then got my 2nd gen fold and never looked back. It's amazing. I just wish for thr price Samsung would add the same hardware camera and everything as the ultra phones.
For the price they are giving us the hardware from the phones that are right below the ultra which I do not like at all.
So far this year looks like they did the same thing.
Next fold add the best chip available.
Add the best cameras from the ultra phones.

My main thing is the cameras I am so use to having the top of the line cameras that this makes me feel like I do not have thr best phone Samsung makes.

I wouldn't recommend the folding screen is made out of mostly plastic and is broken/damaged by your fingernail, and even dirt/sand, so sand or a bit of dirt in ur pocket is deadly situation for ur phone

I'm watching 👀 this video on an S22 Ultra and have no immediate need of purchasing the ZF4...However, when time comes for me to make my ZF4 buying decision in 2023, Samsung's ZF4 may be my first and only foldable phone I'll ever buy.

I've been a galaxy user in the S line since the S1, then when the Note20 Ultra released I switched to try something different...I've been following the Fold line evolve and I think it's about time I give it a try with the Fold 4

You're getting a crease no matter what, so it doesn't snap; this is a stupid complaint by numerous amounts of people. Not to mention the crease is even better managed on the fold 4 if you actually go look at one in person.

Fold 4 is like an S22 Ultra FE. Better chipset, with abilities slightly less than the S22 Ultra, but with a slightly larger screen 7.6 vs 6.8. Do you want to spend much more for a little less?
S7 n s8 tablets have good cameras 📷, don't see the need for a fold 4 unless cameras get a major major improvement.
I prefer higher price more quality and higher end features. It's a premium phone after all.
Had the Fold 3 and didn't like the cons of a foldable. Now I have the S22 Ultra and love it. No Folds for me but everyone is different.
I work at wireless retailer and have seen too many ppl come back with bubble under the midline crease and overheating problems.
I want a foldable phone, but I dont have money like that to replace my entire device after 6months

I like the dimensions of the Fold 4 as compared to the S22 Ultra when it's folded. It is thicker, but it's
shorter and more narrow, which is nice. And while I wish there was a slot for the S-Pen, I spent a year carrying the pen for my S21 Ultra in a case, so that shouldn't be too bad. Decisions, decisions...
I've been samsung user since s10 to s22 plus ultra/ I am making the leap to fold as it seems to be more than a standard phone for multi tasking, which my work demands

Fold4 is out of my budget even before the economic issues. Dropping £1800+ is way...WAY too much for most users. I'm sticking with Galaxy Series. I'll justify a Ultra maybe if I can swing it.

I think foldables are a great concept, however they aren't for me as I can't get past that crease and in my opinion once you open it it's no longer a phone. Just my opinion. I'll stick with my 21 ultra thanks!!
looks to me like when you open it up you can still see a shadow of the fold going down the middle. unless that's just a shadow I'm seeing on my phone. but if it's really there then forget it
Nice compromise with front display. You don't want it to wide. So you can hold it comfortably. I do wish the battery was a little bigger. But no built in spen better chip might still be ok.
It's not necessarily a nice compromise because the internal aspect ratio of all Z Fold phones is still garbage. Galaxy S phones can view more content during web browsing, gaming, and watching 16:9/21:9 videos vs the internal display of the Z Fold series.
While most people STILL don't comprehend that Samsung's intended vision for the Z Fold series is for the outer display to be used ONE-HANDED for quick tasks, Samsung STILL doesn't comprehend that most people want a foldable phone that's a large phablet while folded shut like the Vivo X Fold.

I TRIED THIS FOLDABLE SAMSUNG IN ABENSON MAKATI... im getting the feel of 100k samsung phone if its worth to buy the unit...( i just bought the 11 inch tablet at 19k.. with 100k .. maybe id buy 1 laptop and 3 tablets) im having 2 reactions.. something is off with the phone...clarity of the screen is good although not as big as the 8 inches 0r 10 inches tablet .. its square screen hence giving the wide screen less exposure.. as compare to a tablet.. small .. this is the setback ... i havent try any other features.. just this visible comaprison..

Has anyone had this problem with an order with Samsung. On the 10th I pre-ordered the zfold4 and watch 5 pro. I used the option with Affirm. I was approved and got a loan number. BUTTTT I have not received anything confirmation from samsung. NOTHING. On my Affirm account it shows the loan with Samsung with the correct price amount. It says in approved and waiting for samsung to process order. Has anyone had this issue???
Also after I made that order I preordered a zflip4 but I paid for that with a credit card. That transaction acted normal. I received a confirmation email and then yesterday I received an email saying that order is getting ready to ship. Seriously. HELP. I'M frustrated.
I waited on hold for samsung customer service for over and hour finally spoke to a live person. They said that they can't tell if an order was placed because they were waiting on affirm. Crazy!!,! They said it may take a few days to show up. Well it still has not showed up,!!

Simple physics.. The crease and hinge are points of failure. They will fail and reports say they have for a lot of owners
The cover screen of the Galaxy Fold 5 needs to be at minimum, as wide and tall as the display on the S23 Ultra; it should not give you a cramped feeling. And the inner display of the fold 5, when opened, should be wider than the screen height of the s23 ultra. Fold 5 should be a bigger device in every way possible for its price and should offer a 4K 120hz inner display. Essentially, it should give you the same familiar experience of using a high end candy bar phone with the outer display plus the experience of a mini tablet with the inner display when the phone is unfolded.
Not worth buying still s22 ultra rules..... only advantage is new chipset.....but as i saw battery comparsion of xiomi s12 ultra and s22 ultra, battery life difference was 9 minutes only....so sd 8 plus gen 1 not a big deal, cameras are still best on s22 ultra + spen....lets see what battery life z fold 4 gives with that big screen ... it was clamed that it will be 30% more efficient than sd 8 gen 1 in saving battery which was not seen in 12s ultra vs s22 ultra comparision...s22 ultra lost in that comparision because last 5% went down within seconds....which samsung needs to improve in s22 ultra....
price will definitely be the biggest drawback that will have people hold off still but I think it is ready for regular consumers. My experience with the fold 3 has be incredible, battery and cameras were the only thing I wish was a little better which the 4 has improved but still people don't want to spend that much on a phone even if they get a big discount. Even if they get a crazy trade in deal they'd still have to shell out hundreds of dollars and most people will look at it as a waste of money.

To be fair I understand your concern, but as most Flip and Fold users say. It really doesn't look too bad after awhile.
But I'm using two devices so maybe I'm not sure I'm a great example. My beef with the foldables is cameras, battery, durability and features. I say features because the galaxy series (cheaper models) out perform and have better features like DEX where the Flip3 doesn't but the expense Fold does. But who has that much money just lying around to spend on just a phone

Flip is 1000+ depending on memory
Fold starts around 1800+
Need the pen with it for $1800. Need the outer screen wider, and the interior camera better. Samsung put your foot down full throttle on this phone. Don't stairstep like Apple.

Still has completely the wrong aspect ratio when open and it's far too small, ie not as wide as the s22 ultra, the fold 4 should have been bigger , and should have had a built-in spen, and should have had flagship cameras....
Zayreb the Fold is amazing but it cannot replace the slab........they will have to co exist for now. Believe me I would get it and have both but I do not print money. Lucky are those that can but alas I am not one of them.
When it comes to testing the battery and performance it's always a personal experience of the user, you don't know which user has how many emails setup on the phone and which user browse a lot due to the nature of work/pleasurer whatever. No doubt Galaxy Z Fold 4 is a big achievement of Samsung and it's a wonderful phone but there is no comparison between FOLD and S22 Ultra because they both are different. I use S22 Ultra, it fits in my pocket well, I use S-pen a lot and it's very comfortable for me to write while working or even taking a note on the go without the fear of drooping down and tablet from my hands. These comparison videos of Fold and S22 Ultra are useless and misguiding users.
I agree and disagree with you on misguiding... It's more so a very black and white, here are the facts on paper, take on these two devices. Obviously a lot of reviews are going to favor one over the other so I do kinda agree with you but at the same time they all, if not most of them, lay out all of the facts what they offer hardware wise. I currently have an S22 Ultra and I'm willing to try the z fold 4. I don't use the s-pen all that much and plus the hardware on my phone is more than enough for what I use it for. I just wanna try something different and if I don't like it I'll return it.

As soon as I saw the new ZFold's camera layout and still identical with last years' Fold, I knew the cameras will still be inferior in comparison with the S22Ultra's. Probably a tad better than last year's Fold, but still below the S22Ultra's. I will still wait for that day when they will have the same cameras as the S-series, only then will I buy the Z Fold. When I upgraded 3 months ago, I have chosen the S22Ultra over the Z Fold 3 because I needed the best cameras Samsung can offer. I didn't regret it at all- I'm still in awe over the S22Ultra's beautiful cameras and I love the waterfall layout of the cameras- very different from the S21Ultra. If you're looking for an ideal multi-media device go for the ZFold. But if you want the best cameras definitely go for the S22Ultra!
The fold 4 has the same cameras on the back as the regular S22, so yes it does have Galaxy S cameras. It's just cameras that are a step below the 22 Ultra. The fold 4 and S22 have A tier cameras as opposed to the S22 Ultra being A+ tier (in my book anyway). Also the layout isn't identical, the camera bump and cameras are larger on the fold 4 than the 3. Despite using the S22's cameras I guess they wanted the look to stay consistent with the last fold so they made the bump the same style as last year's🤷♂️

Having previously owned a fold 2, it’s the durability issues that made me switch to S22 Ultra.
Meanwhile my friend's Motorola Razr 5G with its PLASTIC foldable display is STILL working flawlessly.

Funny they show full screen videos but the reality is... RUclips and movies look bigger on the s22ultra

Reasons.
1.The display is not durable, it can be easily damage.

4.Every apps are not well optimized.
5.High price, Low specs compare with Flagship.

Not until the spen is built in, the batt is more impressive than s22ultra, and reduce/ minimize the center crease
I was sooooo ready to throw down a pre order but once again it's not quite what I was hoping for . As a business user it's a must to have the best camera available, I vlog and edit on my phone on a near daily basis ( it's a shame as the bigger screen would be ideal for this. ) But the real kicker is no S pen built in making its extremely bulky . Basically same as fold 3 with a better camera. Lastly it's got to have the biggest battery Samsung have available. Come on Samsung make it a proper flagship and throw everything you have at it. It's getting closer though.

Where can I find the wallpaper.
Its still crap in my view, the front or outer screen is still very very narrow , it still has no S pen function on the outer screen, it still has no S pen silo , no SD card , no headphone jack ( yes many of us still use those), no charger or accessories in the box , , and it still has the crease.
The word flagship is very hollow these days.
Not satisfied with the camera on Fold4. I wanted to sell the s22 ultra but I might keep both😐 one for normal use and the other one for pictures 😬🙄
I have the s22 ultra and i played with the fold 4 instore and i would take it over my s22 ultra, the screen is also brighter than my s22 ultra with both set to max brightness in my opinion.
I personally don't want tablet size phone in pocket which is even thicker folded. It is subjective theme, but for me note like phone like s22 ultra fits the best.
I had the fold 3 and didn’t keep it that long and regretted it ever since I will sell my iPhone 13 pro max and get the fold 4. I mostly use the phone for videos movies and music

S22 ultra is the best to go for. Folds and flips crack and you end up paying over the odds by Samsung care for the screens to be replace. It's a no no
My Fold 5 or 6 wishlist:
- Wider outer display (makes the inner display a more tablet-y experience)
- Under-display fingerprint sensor
- S-Pen in the chassis

Still needed the 100x zoom .but would be too bulky. S22 ultra still proforms better .and cheaper .but the fold 4 is better then the 3 😁
But is the price worth it? You trade off a lot (like camera and durability imo)
I guess it comes down to if you can live with a lesser camera and battery experience imo
If Samsung would split the battery inside and make it charge faster. That would solve a huge issue. 60-70% in 30 minutes? Or 30-40% in 10m?
