Well done Keenan!!! Great work on closing the gym. I am in China and have been here for years. You didn’t panic. You did the right thing. While the virus isn’t extremely lethal if you love your grandparents, the world needs to implement draconian measures to deal with the virus.
My eyes about keeping Jiu Jitsu in a box were after I started Judo. I was a Gracie Jiu Jitsu purple belt when I started Judo. I couldn't take anyone down. Watch some Judo on RUclips for info about it and found a great Judo dojo in my town. My Judo Sensei would ask me about ground techniques and would have me teach moves during newaza sometimes. He would watch me train and ask me questions. It really impressed me. A real martial artist. He just wanted to learn. I tried a hard style of karate while living in Japan. My instructor invented this style. He was tough and ask me questions about submission. The lesson was, real martial artist continue to learn.
Most people cant afford to close or stop working and deal with illness/disease/death every day. Glossing that part over is class warfare at its finest.
He clarified that when he said he closed he said he's very fortunate he can survive from his online content then addressed that most gyms aren't so lucky and need the students to support them threw this
Iam a jiu jitsu practicioner and a surgeon. I agree with Keenan and must say that Gary Tonon's perspectives are full of wishful thinking and/or blunt ignorance.

I wonder if all the tough guys who thought they knew better will admit they’re wrong about the necessity of closing gyms?
Its' up for debate if you are Gary Tonon apparently.
1:41:37 what did Keenan say?
"And you gotta do steroids"
The name of the guy who does Canadian anckle lock is Louis bernard desrosiers
ansylr32 that’s right, he’s a beast
Atos will be safe from any virus. All the roads those guys takes..they have the immune system of the Hulk🤷♂️

The comment we all needed
Intense sport training lower you immune system. High level athletes are extreme vulnerable too.
Brazilians getting angry about AJJ should remember it originated in Japan
This is true but Japanese Jiu-Jitsu is completely different than Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
In Brazil no one calls it BJJ. Here it's only jiu jitsu.
@@Truefitbc BJJ originated from judo
The japanese have no problem calling it BJJ.
wasn't marcelo the first
Rogan has done for the spread of Jiujitsu more than anyone else

I can afford not to roll for a couple weeks. Not the end of the world. And if the gym needs fees so be it

Just call it jiu jitsu.
