Hibiki's worst punishment would be for Makoto to send her home, with no way to return! Where she will live in constant turmoil, what else could she do there, but she should realize that the world where she is at home is barren and boring, where all the rules have already been established and only People live! Makuto comes to visit every so often so that she doesn't forget that this is reality. hee hee hee hee

Hibiki would accept a peace treaty, but only if the demons would become complete slaves of the hyuman race. Not much better, but just being pedantic.
Another thing, her Charisma is actually just a different version of Tomoki's charm. It promises less control, but she can spread it more easily. Tomoki makes dolls, she makes religious zealots. She is an extremely talented politician, but there is also actual magic behind it (that she is unaware of). Its why all those adventurer's followed her when she left the wasteland. Most of them were not inclined to get into the war, but her silver tongue backed by this power turned them into extremely devout followers.

@@coffeeovergaming I thought Tomoe had indicated that there was something a little more to it? The section I am pulling this from is where Lime basically almost got converted to her cause. It made no sense and Tomoe chewed him out over it and then on reflection he realized that he didn't know why he was so enamored with her. At which point Tomoe made some comments to the effect that she was unintentionally charming those she interacted with.
Granted its been 3-4 years since I read the novel, so maybe I am misremembering details, but I thought that was the purpose of that set of chapters.

I honestly distrusted her right after her conflict with Mio as the spider.
While her (Hibiki) introduction I was like: "Well, ok, she is an absolutely genius and had never a chance to show all of her skills in practice. Understandable that she rejoices her fate."
However, later I got my doubts about her character right at the time where she hired her combat trainer (the wolf girl or whatever kind of demi human she was).
You may wonder now "how is that bad? She is a mercenary after all
", well, yeah. She is a mercenary, however, she wasn't someone who wanted to get involve in this war in the first place until Hibiki somehow convinced her to follow her.
The point however where I started to see her as a bright shining red flag, was right after she lost against the spider/Mio.
That is because of this unsettleling blood lust nature she showed for a moment.
Remember, she actually *enjoyed* her defeat because she saw it as an obstacle to overcome.
I don't say that the lost of her comarade didn't do something to her.
However, I think deep down she wasn't a good person at all, considering how self-righteous she acts and enjoys all these conflicts.
She is not a battle maniac like Sofie, in my opinion.
Rather, she seems to me like a person who likes to solve problems which seem to be impossible to solve.
Doesn't matter in which form it appears.
And that's why I find her even more terrifying than Tomoki.
Tomoki is just a weak guy who had the (un)luck to get isekaid in a world where he gets power and won't get bullied anymore.
And as much as I despise his actions, I also pitty him a bit and think that it is only natural that he became how he is currently.
I'm not even sure if I would be any different if I was in his shoes.
Hibiki on the other hand is different.
She had everything and yet she chose to stay in this world because she found her old world boring.
All what she does is because of boredom.
She didn't reach the hate level which I feel against characters like Malty from Shield Hero but I start to feel more and more freaked out by her.

@@coffeeovergaming As someone who's also anime only I'm guessing either I start reading the LN or wait until season 3; only "bad" thing I've seen her do so far (apart from the charisma thing, and that's not something she consciously controls even if she knows about it IIRC) is turning her spirit guardian into a suit of armor, which from what we've seen so far looks more like desperation at near-impossible circumstances than actual evil; as for her wanting to get stronger, it's similar to the motivation of, well, every shonen protag ever and we hardly think of them as evil (with some exceptions -hello, Eren Yeager!).
And the demons would have a much better case going for them if 1- several of them act basically the same as scumbag bandits (like the ones gaslighting the highland orcs into sacrificing people to them) or outright genocidal themselves (such as the extermination of the Aensland sisters' Kaleneon kingdom), and 2- Basically the most moral/ethical of them I've seen is Io, who basically acts mostly like any other story's kinda-honorable fight-happy "arrogant kung-fu guy" antagonist; others are either pretty generic baddie types by Japanese fiction standards, or Rona, who basically screwed herself and her faction over by being needlessly deceptive and assholish towards Makoto, WHO SHE EXPLICITLY WANTED AS AN ALLY, and which cost her good relations with arguably the strongest faction in the world, two strategic military losses involving thousands of military casualties with no gains save damaging one enemy capital while inflicting moderate and recuperable losses, the chance to assassinate Hibiki, AND two critical allies (Lancer and Sophia). If I was the Demon King I'd probably have her executed for gross incompetence.
Since a lot of the point of the series is subverting traditional fantasy isekai morality, though, none of your points are surprising to me; wonder if Makoto'll be able to find more non-racist hyumans or if he'll be able to convert some to his point of view. His students and the Aensland sisters would probably be a good starting point.
Oh and finally: does Hibiki's genocidal goals cover even mostly-accepted species like elves and dwarves?

THis dude is correct. Hibiki's mindset is actually very similar to WW2 Imperialist Fascist mindset. She sees the Majins as terrorist as they are minorities who rebel against the majority. This stemmed from her idea that since Majins are intellectual being like hyumans, they should be aware that they had no other option other than being the oppressed because they have the option of "trying" to work hard to "enter" the hyuman society like some of the demi-hyuman. Since Majins chose not to put in effort to change things peacefully from the inside, despite being aware how "useless" a war is, they are just terrorists. HOWEVER, she is only thinking ONE SIDED-LY and did not take into account that neither the hyumans or the crappy Goddess will EVER ACCEPT THE MAJINS and hence, the MAJINS DON'T EVEN BOTHER. She's the self-righteous, holier-than-thou type of person who thinks they are always right just because they are born into a superior family.
Here's another thing = I'm actually not that surprised because the crappy Goddess will only choose like minded a-holes.

As someone who read the novel, I can confirm a lot of the things that you said in the video
The one problem is. She knew one person who die. From a fantasy world and that's ultimately the one thing that makes it so she has hate Towards the demons. That cannot just be Forgiven Even though they knew each other for like a few months.
One thing I do find funny is all they actually even demons in the story. Because the goddess does not even originate from that world.
At one time, she wanted to get lime on her side And he actually considered it for a moment But that change when he saw Makoto Eliminate a large Enemy The best way I could just find it is like a natural disaster. Similar to, like, magic insects or something.
Hibiki was angry and upset that she couldn't get lime on her team
She even attempted to get toa and her friends to have them come into her party But they refuse, says their free spirits And can't be tied down to one thing. Hibiki was frustrated She couldn't get them
'It was not stated in the novel if she's actually killed. Any Demi Humans. If she's only killed demons it was never stated.
    last Chapter read was 365.
At one point in the novel Hibiki Thanks is Makoto Dangerous Because he doesn't just simply sway by her opinion or Way of thinking And she is fully aware that power will not work on Makoto In case you forgot what her ability is It's the ability to change reality around her based off the emotions of everyone in her Area However, this has many restrictions, and it's not that useful, like you think it would be She would be insanely Powerful But the ability has not really shown its potential.
but It's basically useless in a fight with Makoto
She eventually talks to waterfall one of the Dragons in the story And waterfall specifically says, do not fight him Make restrictions and have things to tie him down But do not engage or irritate him
Waterfall definitely enforced Hibiki mindset. Kind of just feeding into her narcissism

I theorize that it's mostly her parents fault because I think the trophies she "won" was because of her family's name and reputation, not because of her own Merit, that's the reason her mindset started to become what it is now, guess her parents regret it now.
EDIT: I forgot to add that unlike Makoto, Hibiki and Tomoki came to that world out of their own avarice, Her for challenge him for power, Makoto only came not just because of his parents deal but to protect his sisters from going through the same thing he's going through, he did it out of pure selflessness and for the sake of his beloved sisters, I may not like the false Heroes but I feel sorry for their families, unlike Makoto's family they don't know where their children disappeared to.

Tomoki's spell can be erased the way Makoto told Sofia he would do it for her at no cost, but Hibiki, how can you go against her with her charisma? It's not magic; it's real. People would believe her and become more aggressive with the demon race or anyone Hibiki draws her sword to. The wolf being killed in a way to be used as Hibiki's armor flew by me.

Gimme the power to enhance my physical abilities and my allies based on how much they believe in me!" And then, that magic void, which I think was connected to a separate god from the goddess Makoto hates, was like, "Sure, I just need you to offer some life force..." I can see how she'd end up evil.
Something along the lines of, "I don't trust Makoto anymore," would allow her to likely get her a free power up from the citizenry of Limerick because they've seen her as a hero or friend and would support her in killing him if she told them he's a threat because they have believed in her so long and trust her words.

Meanwhile Hibiki is given a mission by the Goddess and gets thrown into an ongoing race war that would get super bloody if Makoto was not around. Even if you were to put a better person in her place I could easily see them get swallowed up into the total war mentality. So literally everything they do, especially in her name or that of the hymanity she supposedly is the goddess of, is on her. @coffeeovergaming I wonder how much of a threat can she be "IF" she is the final boss of this series.
To me, the protagonist seems to be learning slowly not to judge others slowly from first appearances.
The latest in the anime showed that he learned that even demi humans can do evil if they have enough hatred to work with the demons and put innocent lives at risk... which slightly pissed him off.

I still think the Goddess is worse. Now I haven't read any of the LN etc and am an anime only so all I got is pieces of info here and there but ...
the goddess is the one who gave the mission of genocide to Hibiki. It is the goddess' original intention to wipe out the demi-humans and demons and summoned heroes for that job. Hibiki is only acting as the role of the 'hero' that has to save the world, a role she was given by the goddess. For all we know, if she had been cast out just like Makoto was by the goddess, it's likely she would never have gone down this misplaced 'hero' route. People often 'desire' a reason to exist, a purpose, Makoto was abandoned and had to find his 'own' purpose, Hibiki on the other hand was given the classic hero trope role and she's trying to fulfill her 'duty'.
Again I haven't read the LN and am only up to date of the last anime but the demons seems ... totally messed up in what they did and it doesn't seem like the demons have any desire for peace either. They too are on a genocidal path in which they won't stop until they have completely wiped out all the humans. Can you blame one side for genociding the other when they would have done the exact same thing? I don't think you can. I don't think that kind of mindset is productive for a sustainable and peaceful future. You're basically telling someone to accept constantly being attacked over and over and over while sparing your enemy time and time again because killing them off completely would be the wrong thing to do? At what point do you accept that the violence needs to end once and for all even if that means finishing the job?

    • @coffeeovergaming
      @coffeeovergaming  Месяц назад +1

The Goddess's intentions is not to wipe them out, but to enslave them.
Hibiki is choosing that it is better to eliminate a whole species of sentient people, because of the bad actions of a handful of them. Consider how many times the MC is targeted and attacked by Hyumans. He never once tries to kill all of them. He does have some disdain, but generally works with them.

I'm an anime watcher/manga reader and I have to disagree.
    1. Where was it said that the wolf spirit was killed, it's a guardian spirit that can transform from a sash to wolf to armor and back again.
    2. People are calling Hibiki Hitler, but Hitler wanted to wipe out innocent people whereas the demons want to wipe out all humans down to the last child meaning that even if she did nothing the demons would want to kill her solely for being a human so I can't blame her for fighting back. They've laid waste to several kingdoms slaughtering everybody. Just look at what they did in the last season with drugging innocent people and turning them into monsters!
    3. Hibiki is merely charismatic whereas Tomoki is a brainwashing rapist piece of filth, that's worse than anything Hibiki has done.
4 She's currently suspicious of Kuzunoha and she has a right to be as she knows nothing about them, nor the mysterious armored man who saved her. That's just basic logic.

Didn't she worked with some dragon to try and seal Makoto away forever?

    • @Gromaul
      @Gromaul 2 месяца назад +10

The water superior dragon wanted to, and gave him a 'poison pill' in many ways, in that she gave him a book on inter-dimensional teleportation so that he would trip up and be removed from the world accidentally when he cast the ritual inside (she didn't think he would beat the demi-god of dimensions)
But after he left she tried to scheme with Hibiki on how they could seal him, in the event he wasn't kicked out of the world. Either indirectly (keep him disinterested in the world) or some form of trickery. This is because the dragon is at least wise enough to know that Hibiki has absolutely zero chance against him in a straight fight.
However, because the novel has basically been in hiatus for 6 years this plot point has not moved forward.

HUMAN SPECIES, DEMON SPECIES, DRAGON SPECIES etc, race's is what we subdivide several variations of a same species in order to properly catalog them.

    • @coffeeovergaming

Not totally correct, even though Hibiki is indeed the most dangerous hero, genocide for her is a tool (that teoretically she would only use as a last resort), but the main problem is, she is a supremacist (a hyuman supremacist, on this case), that thinks that peace would only be achieved when the hyumans are the ones in control, we're not talking about demons only here, for her, peace would be served when every other race submissive to the hyumans, and that's her main problem.
