Don't take negative comments as bashing; these are honest reactions. That's why, you should never take your audience for granted because they prepared themselves, spent money and time to come and watch your show. Hence, they deserve the worth of their effort. Moral: Never give a mediocre performance if you don't want to get negative comments!

I'm wondering if indigenous Muslims dance on tip-toes; I find it awkward.

Authentic. For Maguindanaon dances to dance on tiptoes for women. It accentuates height and grace (like ballet). And it's not "Muslims", Islam is a religion, not a culture.
Let's call Bangsamoro people by their group and province names instead of just saying "Muslim": Maguindanaon, Maranao, Iranun, Tausug, Bajau etc, just like with Christian-Filipinos like Tagalog, Cebuano, Ilonggo, Ilocano, Bicolano, Waray etc.
Bangsamoro dances are not linked to Islam. In fact, Islam actually forbids dancing and music in its strictest sense. That's why Muslim people in general don't play any music during prayer.
This Maguindanaon dance group and kulintang group do it to preserve the local culture, not because they are Muslims just by religion.
This dance called dulang, is a Maguindanaon dance from Maguindanao province.
