That zvs driver is extremely powerful. If you drive it with an 24 volt ballast with an adjustable amperage pot it will run a tesla coil. I made a rotary spark gap with 3 leyden jar capacitors my primary was 6 turns my secondary was a 24" 2" piece of pvc pipe with 22 gauge wire wrapped almost full length of tubing and a 6 inch 1 piece toriod from a drsstc i no longer had. The unit produced 18" bolts which was great being the first coil I ever got to work the 4 I did before it were garbage. Anyway that zvs drive with 24v and 20 amps will hurt you!bad!!!! So be extra careful. I'll try and post my video to your page. Thanks for the videos I love high voltage.

You should take a saw blade and a metal rod. connect the + to the saw blade an the - to the rod put them 1 1/2" apart and listen for the hiss. when you get it. Turn off the lights you will get a plasma glow. Rounded blades and rings work to. Good luck. I like the channel.

Fun and informative video! I'm glad you outlined the dangers of the experiments and also showed how to wind a primary onto a flyback transformer. Not many people show that step, they just say, "so I rewound the flyback transformer". Also the tesla coil was probably not tuned perfectly, right? Let me know.
Yea I tried to tune the coil but my Leyden jar capacitors are really crappy. I personally don't like zvs drivers for Tesla coil power anyway since the voltage is really overkill and requires expensive higher voltage capacitors to get decent tuning. this was supposed to be a quick build made from junk I had laying around anyway.
@@NerdlabsSci sounds like you need a flyback transformer with rewound secondary for lower voltage
@@ErikDaGreat these flyback transformers are potted in some weird plastic resin shit that makes them impossible to rewind

I like hardstyle and dubstep, i like science and high voltage transformers, and im young, and in the past i wanted to open a youtube channel, and i still think about it now a few times, we are similar
