- While we were at the Missour Botanical Garden, we caught up with Monica Carlsen, (who specializes in Anthurium scents), to take us through a tour of her "second home" in the Climatron, which houses some of their well-known and lesser-known tropical plants including a variety of aroids such as Philodendron, Anthurium, Monstera, and more.

Something about this woman's voice and accent is so nice and comforting. listening to her give this tour is such a relaxing experience!
I thought the same lol. She has the perfect accent and perfect English. Hearing her say the scientific names was the best.
That's my sister in law 😉

Agreed!!! I could listen to her for hours! Amazing story teller too!! 🙏🏽
She’s fantastic! Feels like an instant friend.
She stole the show.... Amazing episode...
I’m exactly like this crazy-super-happy woman from Venezuela. The difference is i was born in Russia and now i’m growing tropical plants (plumerias, adeniums, hoya, strelizia, poisettia, magnolia, coffea) in my Moscow apartment ! My dream is to find the real place for my plants and myself. WISH ME GOOD LUCK! 😊❤
monica is so enthusiastic about her work!! it really inspires me!!
I spent my honeymoon in that garden, including the Climatron! No longer married, but we both still love plants.
She is amazing! What a wealth of knowledge. Stunning garden
The indoor gardens weren’t open when we filmed it this last year, so thanks for taking on tour!
Summer, If this is your real name, What an engaging channel you have. I enjoy every video you publish and not to mention what I learn in each of them. This particular one is a GEM for me as I am also from Venezuela. The brilliance and friendliness of Dr Monica Carlsen-Krause were truly uplifting. Thank you!
Loved our virtual field trip as always
amazing...i learned a lot. i saw those plants in our forest here. someday i could also save those plants from people who are now destroying our forest. Thank you summer in sharing your tours. For me, this is the best.
Monica is gorgeous. what knowledge! what a spirit and beautiful! beautiful garden. Thank you for showing me. Greetings Helge from Germany.
Exactly
I'm super impressed with Monica. Her knowledge of the plants adds a culture to the garden I have never had visiting these Botanical Gardens.
She's a smart woman and very informative.. I love the way she speaks.. Beautiful Creatures.. Thank you for sharing your videos... 🙏
What a beautiful Botanical Garden, I love the fact that monica spoke about the folk names and uses of some of the plants, other than the just the scientific side.
Exactly

I love the climetron. Me and my husband come when it’s freezing outside. So good for the soul.

Omg 😱 I love this lady . She is so informative and soooooooo energetic. I want to see her and Enid have a conversation on aroids with show and tells as they go through Enid's garden . Who are in vote with me ?
So many "new" species covered on this tour that even Summer didn't know about until she visited Climatron. This place is a definite must visit when I go to Missouri one day.

We are so blessed to have such an amazing Botanical Garden in St Louis! Thank you for showcasing my hometown ❤️
All that technical botanical talk gave me such nostalgia. I took up Biology in college and Botany was super fun!
Wonderful. You are both so knowledgeable. Thankyou.
Im a regular viewer of your channel. And i adore n respect yr camera man, his videography is awesome 👍😊. And i ❤ tis kind of Botanical Tours video. Good job.

Where can I find more incredible classes from that teacher? Awesome video
Absolutely amazing tour! I LOVE her! It was so interesting to see the plants and listen to your conversation, that I totally forgot the time. It felt like only 5 minutes and it was over, and yet it's been like 40 minutes! The absolute best!
Something about your channel just calms me & seems so informative. i see so much plant content thats more on the "influencer"/collector side, while your channel truly inspires and educates (me) ! thank you!
She knows everything like woww!
This has been a long week and I seen this tour come up and I saved it for tonight. What a beautiful place and I learned so much!!! Thank you for making my evening 💕 I can't want for the next videos. Missouri might need to join must places to visit just for this amazing botanical garden.
Learned so much from this episode! Love how you feed off of each other and exchange information so well!
I’m in the St Louis area and I can’t tell you what I would do for a private tour!!! Love the botanical garden and have thoroughly enjoyed the time you spent in the stl area. Thank you
THAT,, was an AMAZING tour!!! So much knowledge/information passed on and in a way that is so easy to grasp! Thanks so much❤️
Thank you for bringing us various botanical gardens which I wouldn’t be able to visit . Also loved the botanical and evolution education about the plants. Monica’s leaf print outfit was interesting too. Looking forward to more of these kinds of videos.
Wow,love the tour with extra gain of information,Thanks summer❤️

Wonderful tour, so entertaining and informative! Would absolutely love to visit one day 💚
Yey, most awaited channel ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks summer rayne
She knows so many details. She’s a true plant lover.
Wow thank you for such a fantastic tour!! I loved every minute with the super smart and interesting Monica Carlson. I loved hearing you nerding out on all these intriguing intricacies and lookalike yet different tropical species. The molecular differences and chemical differences were interesting too (and ethnobotanical traditional uses). Please do another tour just of all the epiphytically growing species up high, omg stag horns elk horns and epiphllums but there were SO many more I would like to know about. So gorgeously displayed well done.
Excellent tour! The plants are amazing...I feel like I am there with you. Gained more plant knowledge!
Wonderful. What a massive display
Amazing informative video tour! My dream is to have a small tropical greenhouse like this. Walk around holding my coffee. 😁
Summer keeps impressing me. It's like no matter where she is. She knows more about the plants then the experts. She has suge a huge broad knowledge
Summer u r real enthusiastic champ. Thnx for motivation. I want to start a commercial garden after completing my PhD. I have already started collecting and growing plants in my lab.
Yey! New vid 😍
I hope you'll make like an ice breaker video where you quiz Sander (sorry Sander lol) if he knows several of the houseplants that he always sees while filming. Just a suggestion 😉
Wow! That Heliconia at 12:55 looks like a stack of flamingoes!
What a very knowledgable tour experience and a great and wonderful collection of plants! So educational and informative! Thanks for this!
Wow, very nice and informative, looking forward to visiting
Excellent video and Monica is truly amazing plant wizard! ❤️
Monica, please make some videos of your own also! This was a delightful tour to watch and it was very enjoyable listening to you talk about plants. Such a lovely voice and energy about you ❤

And summer rocking her outfit
I love these field trips. The video production is always high quality. It's sooooo great and a delight to see people who really love their work and craft. It's inspiring. I wish Dr. Carlsen the best when it comes to her line of work. Keep up the work Summer and Co.
Great video, a such a great host, so full of passion n knowledge❤
Thank you for the tour Summer, one of your best!. I have been to quite few "domes" but this has to be one of the most diverse, while also naturalistic looking, ones I have seen.
Nice job .when got up this morning I actually saw my Madagascar jasmine new vines moving and man did it got my attention.
She reminds of the botanist in thailand tour in the mountains, so much knowledge
Wow
I really love garden tours
Love the Climatron. Our botanical garden in St. Louis is awesome!
This was such a wonderful video to watch! I'm so glad she got the VIP tour!
Really needed this "Getaway" Summer.
Wow - what a garden!
oh i love the botanical garden series . i hope there will be more for 2022
Love it !! ✌️🌞🔥 exactly exactly 💙💙
Love it some much more when you hang with scientists like her. What can I say I’m a nerd!
Monica is amazing! Learned so much in this tour the most!
I loveeeee the tour too ... one of the best videos on the channel.
hugs from Brazil. Precisely in Belém do Pará. In the Amazon region
What a delightful caretaker!
Peace lily sensation, as seen in this video, is amazing. Mine did 14-feet away from a western window, for months. So low light. I combined the 3 plants and placed it 4-feet away from the window now.
Great plant tour of the Climatron
Thank you, always enjoy watching your channels! I finally got your book How to make a plant love you and so far I’m enjoying reading each page.
I have learned so much from you and you truly inspired me to make my own little jungle at home. Loving all my plants, heart breaks when some don’t survive though but still preserve.
Take care always Summer!
more technicalities on the lab samplings of Philodendron subgenus Meconostigma discussed at around 28:00
Thank you Summer and Monica!
I was just there two nights ago for their christmas lights show--it was fabulous
Amazing, Beautiful, Thank you!
Oh wow! Wonderful tour!!!
I absolutely love listening to her voice and learning from Monica. Thank you for having her on again. Does she have her own channel or website?
Make videos on in-situ conservation,at Tropical regions.. Because of this everyone gets love towards nature..💐
YAY! My favorite place!
Good. They talked about the culture of the common names. OK, so it is also part of the description, location in the world, habitat and then both names or many different names around the world, recorded for the plants definitely identified, for as long as they qualify, accompanying the Latin name. So that is the reason for common names, although the Latin is there. Common names are the frosting on the cake. 🎂 Hope that's right. 🤔 She can really teach us more in her living classroom. Cool lady, cool tour of paradise while we have snow. ⛄ Gracias mucho, Summer Rayne y sus amigos.
Muy bueno. 😁👍
Wow napaka Ganda po.
I love so much how you have been educated me with all the information provided it hahaha and at the same time how I am completely lost for my lack of knowledge about it hahaha I am starting to think I need to study botany 😂🤣
Greetings from Australia! Part 2 please!
Lots of new learnings from this tour!
What a great tour! The Etlingera elatior is used for cooking in Malaysia and the aroma is amazing!
Awesome walk-through of the Climatron! I had no idea that Sansevieria had been merged into Dracaena - but when you said that their chemistries are very similar, it made perfect sense to me as both give me _horrendous_ hay fever when they're in flower! Nothing else in the garden triggers me that strongly. 😂
