I just want to thank you guys for putting this install video together. I’m no mechanic, but I’m mechanically inclined enough to do this install. I spent an afternoon installing the dual subwoofer kit on my 2024 CVO RG ST and I’m here to say it sounds amazing. I only have the stock fairing speakers plus the 2 subs and every person I’ve demoed this for has been blown away. I had plans to add the lid speakers, but after listening to it for hours I’m just going to leave it as is for now. Thanks

I just purchased Rockford Fosgate HD14-STG5 kit but it has 2 of the M5-800 4 channel amps for my 2024 flhx street glide. So it don’t have bag speakers yet. Is the installation the same since the only difference is the 800 amps
Hi @chriscooper3336 Unfortunately, the wrong kit was purchased. The HD14-STG5 is not compatible with 2024 FLHX models as stated on our compatibility chart below. You'll need to purchase the subwoofer system direct from Harley-Davidson (we engineer and build the system, but H-D sells them). Just purchased a 2024 RoadGlide CVO and had the dealer install subs on both sides before I took delivery. I love the tunes, but the rattling is horrible. Why? What recommendation do you have to deafening the ratting in the bags? Thanks, Mike
Hi Mike, adding bass to a bike will cause some rattles due to the large amounts of air being compressed and the resonant frequency of different parts being reproduced by the subwoofer. However, the 2024 RoadGlide CVO has a different saddlebag design compared to the 2014+ Rushmore models, with the design priority to save weight while expanding the capacity. On our Road Glide we used sound damping material on the brake light assembly and the saddlebag itself on the side facing the fender-well. We recommend SoundShield as they have years of experience in damping sounds caused by rattles: www.soundshieldusa.com/
I did the install myself for the two subwoofers on my 2024 CVO RG ST and I also replaced the rear license plate mount with the custom dynamic curved one. Before and after installation I have absolutely no rattling! I could not be happier with the way this sounds. It took a little tuning with the EQ and that was it.
So my Harley dealer enabled right subwoofer but when I go into speaker configuration the right subwoofer is greyed out. They tell me it's how it's should be. I'm little bit not buying this that is greyed out also how do i tell that they enabled the secondary amplifier in the saddlebag?
@@bartii8311 To confirm, you had one subwoofer (right side) installed with the Secondary amplifier, correct? The secondary amplifier is required for any sub to operate because it uses 2-channels bridged to each sub.
@@rockfordfosgate that is correct. I had one subwoofer (right side) installed with the secondary amplifier. Only reason I brought that up is when my Harley dealer ran digital tech secondary amplifier remains disabled. Also why is my subwoofer (right) grayed out under speaker configuration? My stage 2 front and stage 3 lid speakers are not grayed out so I'm little bit confused that this subwoofer configuration is working properly just because it's grayed out. Even looking at your older videos when you guys did installs on stage 2 front or stage 3 lids I can tell from those videos subwoofers were lid up on your install bike. So what is wrong with mine? What did the dealer do wrong? Or what can I do on my end to get this fix? Cause my dealer is very confused about this and they don't have a answer why my subwoofer is grayed out.
@@bartii8311 While I'm not sure why the subwoofer is grayed out, it's possible there are different versions between Digital Tech and the Skyline OS configuration. Do you happen to know the software version loaded? You should be at least 1,300 or higher. By chance are you here at Sturgis? We're performing Skyline OS software updates at Black Hills H-D all week long and would be happy to look at your bike and do any updates as needed.
@@bartii8311 Our OEM Audio tech is actually here at Sturgis, but I spoke with him and it everything is configured properly on your motorcycle since digital tech enables the subwoofer left and right to “appear” on the Skyline screen (it does not matter whether it’s left or right because it’s a mono signal for the subs). I understand skyline will be rolling out additional software updates next month that should solve the “grayed-out” issue.
The 2023 model is different because it fits the larger saddlebag style. This is a complete redesign of the subwoofer enclosure and subwoofer. The subwoofer has more airspace (due to the larger bag) and the subwoofer has been improved with higher temperature voice coil to handle more power and equipped with a neodymium motor to keep the weight down.

As much as I love my tunes, I’d still like to keep my bag’s for storage but that does sound good clean and easy install 👌🏾

Where do I get one of those de-pinning tools? The ones I have must not work with these because I can not get the plugs or pins out.
