The "expert" is incorrect. The attack is a signal to Iran to not get too cocky. The biggest mistake we Americans think is that aggressive acts in themselves escalate no matter the scale. That is not how it generally works in the Middle East. The sides there bully each till they save face and simmer down. It has nothing to do with who is in the right or more aggrieved . It is simply how the countries there behave toward each other if not at peace.
