    I agree with showing the hand sometimes. I like to use it to build credibility for bluffs later down the road, or tilt others who are playing reckless. I usually don't show on the massive pots though where everyone is dying to see. Grats on your big win.

    • @BradOwenPoker
      @BradOwenPoker  3 года назад +100

      Thanks man. Yeah, I think it's good to do occasionally to control your image. I had bluffed in a few hands prior to that one so I wanted to build some credibility back and it was a board that I won't normally connect with very well. I thought it'd be good to have the Q9 hand in the back of their minds the next time there's a board out that doesn't seem like I should connect well with it.

      I generally dont show but I agree there are moments when it makes you more money by showing the odd hand. I like to show the odd big bluff or nut hands but generally when I show its when I flopped the nuts with 67s or some such.

I am also impressed with you not asking to see the opponents hand, shows a lot of restraint against a possible rec player which shows you know where your income comes from. And it shows you wont kick an opponent while he is down.

      Tough to watch what all 6 opponents are doing with their cards all the time. Not looking is obviously a losing play in the long run so I don't usually suspect it from anyone... In this case, I actually thought that he hadn't looked at his cards and asked him about it in the middle of the hand (you can hear us have a conversation on the turn if you listen closely but you can't really make out the words). At that time he said he had looked and I believed him - he went back on that once the hand was over and that's what his "good read, I still haven't looked at my cards" was referring to. I react surprised, not because I was shocked he hadn't looked but surprised because he lied to me. Usually people tend to just be quiet rather than lie about that kind of thing.

    I like to show hands based around how I’m playing. If I’m playing tight I’ll show a bluff to try to get calls when I have better hands, and if I’m bluffing a lot I’ll show a good hand to make them think I’m just running really well

    Hey so I have a question! I've been super into hold em this last month and play really well online, but I'd like to know what kinda plays you're having in between hands? Lots of folds? Shitty cards you don't wanna bluff on? Maybe losing out on the river occasionally? I use your videos to learn!
