Really happy to see Shadow of the Damned being talked about in a more positive manner! It's one of my favourite games, so i was always a little sad that there was so much focus on the tough development and the so called "lost true version". Great interview! I would love for Suda51 to give you the time and space for a long form interview some day.
"But that guy was nearly indestructable!" "No. He was weak. See what's left of him? You do not become chopped meat if you are stronger than they are." - These words keep me from going insane at my job
Jonathon Holmes, for Destructoid, has had many awesome interviews with Suda over the years. He asks some weird/deep cut questions that give some cool tidbits or show just how strange Suda is, haha.
I pray for a FSR remaster/port, ANYTHING. I'm so obsessed with that game I completed both the PS2 and DS version at the simultaneously twice, in less than a week. Love it so much
I think you asked some great questions, it's awesome to get some of Suda's insight into the original game and remaster! His little "Fleming wa suki desu ne" was adorable~ I never knew Suda worked on a manga, it'll be neat to see if there are any more parallels/references to old drafts once the remaster is released.
WAIT IS THIS FOR REAL????!!!! I truly regretted selling my PS3 copy numerous years ago. I'm so fukkin' ready. Also excited for Chainsaw Lollipop and other remasters!!
I have that EXACT same tv dinner fold out table you have too. I'm happy for you coming this far to get an interview with the man himself (Suda). Proud of you!
Awesome interview man! I can't wait to get my hands on this remaster of Shadows of the Damned! Also, it would be cool that if this game also gets a sequel in the future! That would be cool!
Excellent interview! wish you'd could've asked him if it was possible to remaster/localize Flower, Sun & Rain (PlayStation 2 version) or Twlight/Moonlight Syndrome, i know Blood + would've been out of the question since it's a licensed game sadly, makes me wish i could have gone to PAX East to ask him myself 😔 but despite that, i've enjoyed this video none the less and the questions you gave about the game was very informative and were things i'd honestly never knew or heard of so thank you.
Hope GM don't have to censor anything with the remaster, because of some current year BS. NewGame+ seems like a cool addition with the unlockable outfits and maybe we get lucky with physical versions.
Avengers? This video was more cooler than that (Just of curiosity, did you tell him or the translator. That you have the "evangelion" of the work of suda?)
Buy the remaster on PC. It is a direct port of the PS3 version, it looks very bad in 4k and could have been a much better port ... but I love the game! I don't care about anything else!
@@raven80wolfx2 true, true. I just hope they give FSR a full remake. There was a drawing of Sumio Mondo in the GHM studio, so it’s possible they’re doing some kind of planning for it now.
People have been asking him that for years. If they've got something to say about bringing back FSR, they're not going to tell some guy at PAX first to announce it.
Shadows of the Damned getting remaster is cool, but while you asked about other games and remasters, you could’ve asked about Lollipop Chainsaw Remake, is it still coming? Such a missed opportunity. Otherwise nice that you asked about smaller games such as Black Knight Sword and talked about it and Sine Mora, would’ve also like to hear about Liberation Maiden, nice little gem on 3DS. Good job man!
@@jarodk1294 I mean, asking Suda how is Lollipop Chainsaw remake coming along as if the team is working on it, isn’t the ideal question to bring up, when anyone can just Google, who is working on the game. Just saying.
@@outersiderofficial hey I see you point, but while the team isn’t working on it, doesn’t mean that Suda isn’t involved. He is one of the creators of original, maybe devs of remaster approached him to help and bring some of the stuff that couldn’t be put in OG, some of these people are the ones he was working with previously. Definitely wouldn’t hurt to ask Suda about it since he was one of the makers of OG game.
@@jarodk1294 That makes sense. Now that something I definitely get behind. Sorry about that, is just I'm used to seeing people asking the same question over something that is already answered by simply clicking on a search engine. Thanks for the clarification ✌

When I sold off my 360 collection, Shadows of the Damned was one of the games I held on to, that game is so entertaining and criminally underrated.
