These freshman cyphers always make me feel old and out of touch. Half the people on round 1 of Stevie's tournament are better than most of what I hear on these. Morrey was cool, but should have had a sharp written to showcase his talent. That freestyle didn't make me want to look him up. The rest were forgettable and Coi was the worst thing I've heard all year. It's more the subject matter, it's all boring. Every girl rapper can't stop talking about their haters and what "these other bitches" can't do, every dude rapper is a killer or kingpin. No new ideas and they aren't even doing the played out shit in an interesting way. Everyone is trying to fit in instead of stand out.

The first girl was nice, she had everything DDG didn't have. At least in this Cypher. Morray did good for a freestyle. Rushed his delivery on a few bars that knocked the flow off beat a tad bit but again it all came from the top so I can let it slide. Coi was just down right top of the line grade A dookie water on here. I don't know her other music but if it's anything like this, naw I'm good on it.

Token's flow is stupid, but damn he uses to many filler lines in every song. People get caught up in his flow, understandably, and his beats are mostly fire. But, anyone really listening to every line, every word, will know that he writes lines that he can ride with his flow but he throws in lines that have nothing to do with the rest of the verse.
And before anyone starts talking shit, Hopsin called him out for this on one of their live conversations and Token started laughing and admitted to doing it.
To be fair, he's still a kid. He hasn't had a bunch of life experiences to write about, and when you're young so is your writing. It takes years and years to become good, and even then most people still can't write well (my wife is a professional writer, so I'm not talking out my ass). He has plenty of time, and I have no doubt his lyrics will get better and more cohesive.
