    NGL, the anime version of Armando's "The only time a lawyer can cry is when it's all over" sounds better - since it's directed at everyone in general, instead of just being lawyers

      oh definitely! I understand that in the game it was a direct callback to his advice given to mia, but it does have a larger impact when directed at everyone

    I dont know if you cutted it but the best part for me of godots monologue is when he says that, if he really wanted to save maya, he would have contacted nick instead of iris or misty. its just so cool to hear diego armando admitting phoenix is a smart responsible man. game wins.

    • @psyllart
      @psyllart  Год назад +68

      ah I might’ve cut that to make the video shorter! but yes that’s exactly what I love about Diego’s confession. I especially love when he admits that he could’ve killed pearl and he knew dahlia could’ve been pearl but he still picked up the sword and killed her. It adds a lot to his character that I really appreciate, and the anime didn’t explore that route

    • @Gabo2oo
      @Gabo2oo Год назад +44

      Because the game spends more time building up to those moments. What one doesn't notice when playing is that the dialogue goes in circles a lot whenever Phoenix is going to present evidence, gets asked a critical question, etc. They can only do that because it's a video game, and wouldn't work as well in an anime adaptation (especially if you binge-watch it).

      @@Douge11 well, murder cases aren’t like civil cases where someone presses charges against you. the police just try to find a suspect and take them to trial, and the trial determines your innocence or guilt. so regardless of whether maya or phoenix believed he did it, the evidence shows otherwise so he would still get charged with murder. I agree that movies would have been better, but really, I think these games just don't adapt to other forms very well.. A movie for each case would be okay, except the filler cases have a lot of content that would make a movie feel too boring. The only part of Turnabout Samurai that really mattered was Edgeworth helping Phoenix. The only other thing we got out of it was a couple reccuring characters, which is a bit too little story importance for a movie, but not putting it in would make it confusing for viewers when the characters do come up again or when Edgeworth starts leaning more into his character arc. A movie for each game wouldn't work well, because the games aren't meant to be crammed into a time span of 2-3 hours, and movies longer than that are much more difficult to produce and often seen as unfavorable, so it's unlikely they'd be made that way for fear of losing profits. No matter what, TV or movie adaptations would be awkward.

      Well, it WOULD work if they gave things the time they need. It'd definitely be hard to adapt it well, but I think the writers of the anime either weren't given enough resources, or the writers they hired didn't care at all for ace attorney so the result was very underwhelming
