Hi..like and comment to feed the algorithm. Question: I'm looking at buying a Doxa200 with the 19 mm problem. I read an article on Hodinkee by a guy who regularly fitted 20mm straps to 19 mm lug width watches...no problem. I spoke to a Hirsch representative who told me the same. Just rub the leather/ rubber on a flat surface with some pressure, and they usually fit . Have you tried this ? Does it work ? Obviously, not bracelets ! And they made some pale green Mk lll Land Rovers ! I live in Rural England...Over 60. Never seen one !! Mea Culpa !
Have not tried 20mm on 19mm watch, I would imagine works for most. If the strap is tough there would be problem fitting. I have 19mm watch on the way and can try some 20mm straps on it.
It is unfortunate that they chose to print "GENERAL SERVICE" on these straps. The reinforcement of the holes in the strap is also unfortunate, and not true to the design of either US Armed Services GS watch straps or those of the MOD. I think they are going to have a hard time competing with CWC and Marathon in this particular niche. The floating keeper is a brilliant idea, and I expect the QC, stitching, execution, and colors to be brilliant; based on my experience with Haveston's single pass canvas straps.
Forget the straps!!... the packaging and typography are gorgeous! WWII, yet modern. The letter that looks like a telegram... brilliant.
Good looking straps, have not tried these straps yet. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, great looking straps! 👏
Great looking wrist bill boards! Not a big fan of those rubber reinforced holes, makes them look even worse.
