      Alizoid if he just drove the jeep on pavement like people do with Hondas it would be very reliable but look at how he beats the tar out of it all the time. If you did that to a Honda, Subaru, Chevy, Ford it would have problems too because their self created
      I’ve seen so many people from family friends and when I worked at a dealership who just drive wranglers on the road And they go 100,000 miles without even changing the spark plugs. I bought my 2001 with small tires and no scratches in the front to make sure the previous owner didn’t beat it up with 107,000 miles I now have 156,000 miles and all I’ve done is a $45 cam sensor and they go 100,000 miles without even changing the spark plugs. I bought my 2001 with small tires and no scratches in the front to make sure the previous owner didn’t beat it up with 107,000 miles I now have 156,000 miles and all I’ve done is a $45 cam sensor and I mostly just drive it on pavement but I do go beat it up a little bit more lately and that creates the issues
      Even just light off Roading put so much stress on dozens of parts that weren’t meant to take it because Rock tears metal
      Get a brand new one drive it on pavement and it will last 300,000 miles just like you see every now and then, most jeeps get beat to death off-road and still go 200,000 miles

    Your video nailed this topic perfectly. Wranglers are incredibly reliable vehicles. Our Jeep has had a couple issues, but only because of what I do with it. Anyone who wheels any vehicle is going to have issues at some point. Especially after lifting it, putting larger tires, and adding tons of weight. We only bought our wrangler because our old 99 Ranger was really beat up. After 14 years I was ready for a new vehicle and they weren't making Rangers anymore. I loved that vehicle. We wanted a vehicle that was American made could fit down trails and was easily modified. Only one vehicle fit that description! We also ordered ours. I was looking at pictures of SEMA 2012 and saw the Sandtrooper Wrangler. I had to have that color. When it came available in February we ordered it...sight unseen. The day I picked it up my heart melted to give up my Ranger, but the Jeep looked so cool. It was also a lot larger than the Ranger. It has been rock solid ever since.
    I really like your channel. Your narration is perfect. You're really easy to understand. The trails views are some of the best out there. Plus, I love all the different views you give going down the trail. Keep up the good work...your channel rocks!

    In the twenty years you have had five Jeeps, I have had one bullet proof 1st gen 4Runner. I am currently in a completely stock, adult driven, meticulously maintained JK (by me), and it has so many little problems and quirks that it is a damn shame. How a 31 year old original drivetrain with 419,000 miles in the 4Runner is more quiet and in better shape than a JK at 60,000 says it all.

    I own a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited and am the only owner. The only thing that happened so far with 93K miles on it was the damn lifters fell and the rocker arms chewed up the cam shafts. Never took the Jeep off road since it is my daily driver in a metropolitan city that truly sees all 4 seasons (which is why I got the Jeep, so I can make it to work in the snow and ice), and the dealer replaced all cam shafts and rocker arms and lifters on both banks under warranty. To me that is unreliable to have lifters fall/fail for just driving around as you would any other vehicle and especially at 93K miles. Yes all oil changes were made right on time and every single oil change done at the dealership. Without the warranty that is a major expensive repair. Other than that, no other issues.

Three times for over two months. While still under the new vehicle engine warranty, the engine had to be replaced at MY expense, Chrysler refused to honor their warranty. How many jeeps have over 300k?

    • @coloradomallcrawlers
      @coloradomallcrawlers  4 года назад

      A bunch, personally my family has a KJ with the 3.7L with well over 300k (327k last time I was home). 4.0Ls are extremely solid (and they were used in Jeeps forever). My 3.6L seems solid. The 3.8L wasn’t playful but it is a solid motor. However, Jeeps get off-roaded more than other vehicle brands and higher mileage motors in true off road rigs no matter who makes them risk failure. So many of us do swaps or rebuilds to assure reliability while out on the trail. I’ll probably rebuild mine at 250k or hemi swap. Hope that answers your question to the degree I can considering I don’t have access to all Jeeps for a true scientific study. You might like my Hackett Gulch video... I put a Tacoma on the thumbnail because they’re great little trucks!

    What is weird, is that for such an unreliable vehicle, they sell so many of them.

    • @coloradomallcrawlers

      How is this unreliable? I can’t count on much, but I can count on my wrangler to do its job. I’ve never been stranded and I wheel the $!#% out of them.

      I heard the 3.8 is fairly reliable... most people complain about its power tho. I’d search 3.8L Jeep reliability if you have one or are considering one. I only had mine for a year.

    I just bought a 2016 four-door JK with only 60,000 miles on it. Within a week the check engine light came on. After a diagnostic the repairs are going to run me just shy of $5000 and that’s just getting started. Never ever again will I ever buy a jeep. I wouldn’t recommend a jeep to my enemy. They are complete unreliable hunks of shit!!! To make matters worse, I traded in my 2002 Toyota pick up truck that never had an issue for a fucking lemon Chrysler piece of SHIT.
    Sorry, jeeps are anything BUT Reliable

      Hey Bobo, altho I respect your opinion, YOU BOUGHT A USED JEEP. You have no idea what that previous owner did to the jeep and that’s likely the issue. As I said, I’m just telling you my experience over 20 years... and as much as I love the value of buying used, buying a wrangler used is one thing I’d personally never do (as I don’t have the skillset to evaluate it nor fix any of the previous owner’s maintenance neglects). Did the previous owner do proper oil changes, change fluids, put good gas in it, fix anything that broke while wheeling? Jeeps can keep going despite looking fine... it’s why my jeep has never left me stranded. Quick question, would you want to buy my jeep considering I’ve abused it off-road for nine to ten years?

    • @sector783
      @sector783 3 года назад +1

      @@coloradomallcrawlers Definitely value and appreciate your comment. And Definitely bitter that this happened so soon after I bought it with only 60,000 miles. But u are absolutely correct, I just figured 60,000 miles is relatively low to have something so bad like this to go wrong despite even some possible minor maintenance skips here and there from the previous owner. My comment is purely out of frustration. And of course I wouldn’t buy your jeep if you disclosed that you abused it off road for nine or 10 years. But this jeep is a 2016 with 60,000 miles on it that has hardly ever been in the dirt. Huge difference bud.

      I get where you’re coming from and I do understand your frustration. It’s not fair that you have to deal with that, but your experience is likely a rare event. Most of my wrangler buds have had minimal issues and the ones who have issues, it’s usually because it was modified poorly. With this said, yes, my Jeep is abused off-road, has 145k with mostly just oil changes and 87 octane gas, but it’s still as solid as it was when new. That doesn’t help you, but it definitely gives me a different perspective than yours. My other 4 Jeeps were solid too so I really think they’re way better than most people say. I do hope your issues get sorted out... not that I have the skill set, but there’s a lot of RUclips videos showing you how to fix anything on a Jeep. That’s usually the way to go to save money as for the most part, they’re simple vehicles. Good luck!

      No worries, I had just worked a 16hr shift where I thought I was going to be fired myself. The crew in my line of work usually gets blamed for accidents as it becomes an insurance write off if so... even tho it would have been temporary, I wasn’t really in a good mood to be missing my paychecks when I was just starting to recover from 2020. Good luck with your Jeep and I really hope it starts acting like a solid Jeep for you.
