He and Nigel and Derrick will go down as the three greatest most perceptive comedians of all time though there were certainly others I can think of. We in America have so few.
When I was just a kid I remember watching The Good Life reruns on daytime tv.. Paul's character was always my favorite, although I had no understanding of acting, I always thought that his character was so believable. The tragedy of being stuck in a marriage like that, I felt his glee when he had the house to himself and got to relax :) Kind of like when you're a kid and your parents finally think you can do without a babysitter. Now that I'm in my 40's, I'm watching Yes, Minister and I'm falling in love with the show and Paul's acting all over again. I wish Paul and the others were still with us, but they've left behind one terrific body of work.
That shot of him at the very end of this is one of the few things that could make me well up. He was a gr8 actor & by all accounts a very nice man indeed. It is a real shame he didn't have longer on this earth bcos he was a truly gr8 comedic actor IMHO. I still watch him in Yes Minister, etc with gr8 joy & delight. So funny & yet with his fame came such seeming humility. The world is a sad place for having lost gr8 comedy actors like Paul Eddington & others like him..Thnx 4 posting this my friend
Thank you so much for posting this show. I've just finished watching a marathon session of 'The Good Life' and then found this video online having never seen it before.
Paul was very fortunate to have a good wife. He would certainly be remembered. It is mystery why Paul, Nigel were not given much better choices after Y.Minister.

A life well lived. He brings me joy every time I watch his performances.
Brilliant programme
I'd never seen Paul Eddington like he was at the end. It's even harder to watch knowing that both Nigel Hawthorne and Richard Briars are also gone.

I have managed to get hold of the DVDs of Yes Minister and Yes Prime minister
Thank you so much for posting this show. I've just finished watching a marathon session of 'The Good Life' and then found this video online having never seen it before.
Very moving. Yes Minister along with maybe to the Manor born in my (Humble) opinion the VERY best British sit coms. ever produced.
Ah yes back in the days when I used to watch TV. The Good Life; Dad's Army; Mann about the house ..... Halcyon days.
It was a good TV series. Paul Eddington was more than suitable for the role.
A good person, and the perfect choice for the upright good minister.

I have now seen all your uploads, and they are all wonderful! Thanks ;-)
