I think some of the dudes who kinda washed or got too old for mx/superbikes are gonna start exploring this. What if like j law izzi , just some dudes who still wanna ride and make a little bag would enjoy this and bring some exposure.
There was a big wave of pros moving over to supermoto when it got its first wave of popularity in the states. That wave of popularity definitely hurt the sport (in the US) once it died off. That seems to be the main problem currently. Not enough money and support on the professional level.
The top few guys are pretty close to the euros. Mostly gage and Dustin. In fact S1gp rider lukas hollbacher rider came down to run the series in 2019-2022 Dustin(USA) beating him out 2020 and Lukas returned to take the championship following that. USA has zero factory support so it’s basically privateers vs factory riders. But yea s1 is unmatched and our field is slowly drying out of the extremely fast guys.
