MOSAIKON - CCA: MCC 2015-3 at Re-Lime Conference, Palermo

  • The Mosaic Conservation Course MCC 2015-3, for restorers and conservators of Jordan, Lybia and Syria, is organized by CCA di Roberto Nardi, the Centro di Conservazione Archeologica di Roma, and is held in the Convento di San Nicola in Belmonte in Sabina, Italy.
    The participants of MCC 2015-3 attended at the conference Re-lime 2015, in Palermo (Italy), on the traditional production and use of lime in conservation.
    Re-lime 2015, organized by CNR-ISTEC (Faenza) and CNR-ISMN (Palermo), saw the participation of lime specialists and enthusiastic from a range of different fields: conservation, chemistry, engineering, material science, traditional architecture.
    MCC 2015-3 participants presented a collective work titled “Review of traditional production and use of lime in Jordan, Libya and Syria”.
    Following field research undertaken back home, participants worked together during the first weeks of the course to compose this thirty minutes presentation. It was structured in three parts, and a representative from each country gave a ten minutes talk, focusing on a different aspect of lime tradition in his territory.
