RAWDUST: Event 1 - "Speedway" - Laguna Beach, CA

RAWDUST: the inaugural Laguna Beach underground race series that punts riders into dusty summer. No loam - just loose, dusty glory. Event 1, "The Speedway" kicked off the series with a heinous course. Out the starting gate, riders mashed up a heart-attack-inducing climb, only to drop into a death-gripping 50mph fire road slam. Hit the bottom 90º corner just right, drop for 20 pushups, and descend into a loose, rocky, chunkfest before a final flat sprint to the finish.
Post-race tacos from Kung Fu Tonic, beers from Fat Tire Ale, and goodies from our friends at Vans, Shimano, Troy Lee Designs, Crankbrothers, & Rad Van Bikes. Bell Sickle laid down some mind-bending prog metal to bludgeon the quiet canyon night.
