- Starting a food truck isn’t hard. It’s actually Very simple if you know what to do. The thing is you don’t know what you don’t know.
These are the steps I used to Start my Food Truck Business and how you can do the same.
#foodtruck
Last step, please put a tracker on your trailer. I had a friend get his 80,000 set up stolen from a trailer park 😢
damn that sucks
I know I feel so bad...@@NikkkYT
Thanks!

Wow. thats frickin insane man ;(
Step 1. Perfect your recipes.
Step 2. Perfect for customer service.
Step 3. Perfect your processes.
Step 4. Fix & build your credit.
Step 5. Fundraise the 20% needed for a small business loan from friends & family.
Step 6. Start selling a small menu from the commercial kitchen to build a following.
This is good advice thank you
Good vid. Steps are a little out of line for me anyway. Close to the top of list I would go to local health department and get info from them very early. They will tell you what you can and can't do as well as what your trailer/truck HAS to have in it to pass inspection.
What’s is usually mandatory to have in your truck like running water ? Sink etc?
Agreed.
I’m in the learning process right now, about to incorporate and get my EIN. I plan on sending a schematic of my cart setup to my health inspection department for approval before I get the cart. I want to get the bureaucratic BS out of the way before I spend one dollar on a cart or a commissary.
Yea, I was wondering how one could pass a health inspection 3 steps before finding a commercial kitchen in which to prep the food.
Background Music/noise too LOUD
Very smart advice for getting a trailer versus a truck
Makes all the difference!
Great video man! Right to the point.
But dude you gotta lower the music down. It sounds like you were trying to talk over him, and he was rapping over you very loudly. Few parts i had to rewind 3 times just to clarify you said church.
Second, if you're gonna play music use very low music with no words: lofi hip hop, or instrumental rap/drill, so people can hear you and only *you* clearly.
so happy to hear you saying to hire a graphic designer rather than saying to use ai like so many other channels and pages
But why though? Will ai not do the job? I get it like support the ppl not the machine but...?
@@XiiiRxx95 it will do the job, but you could get a much better design and support someone who needs money just like you and i do ya know. i do understand from a business perspective though what you’re saying bro
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
These all are very correct steps ☺️ brought in 20k last year 🙌🏾😌
Nice work! Keep it up.
What do you sell?
How many of hours did you work to achieve that payout?
How did you secure a location to park?
It's crazy I come across your channel being that I've been a customer of Susie's for a while now! The food is amazing and the experience is very inspiring! I'm gonna take this as a sign to follow my dreams!
Do it!
I appreciate jumping right into it instead of a 5min intro and 7 mins of filler
Great outline. I’m in the process of starting out on the lowdown with a hotdog cart before I go expensive with a full on food truck. I plan on letting the cart pay for the food truck. I would just amend one thing in your outline. I plan on sending a schematic of my cart to my health inspector before I buy it. Get the bureaucratic BS out of the way before I start spending any serious money.
Pretty much how I did my preliminary outline when I did a bit of research. Thanks.
Step 12 should be higher up the list, as is how much if will cost to pitch there (if anything), will you get the right/right amount of customers there...
Generally do a decent amount of market research...
Who is your customer?
What are their likes dislikes, what do they aspire too, dietary needs/wants, where do they currently eat, where do they work? What spare cash do they have snd how much are they willing to spend/how often etc?
Also what are the overheads of running the truck, buying the ingredients and cooking them going to be. Then work out if the final product will be at a price your customer will buy it at, and will you be able to access enough customers to sustain your business and make a decent profit.
Think outside the box, for instance maybe you can cater primarily for a large office or factory and give them a lower charge for use of their premises. Dont be afraid to reach out to make enquiries, and ask questions to gauge whether people would want your product or find out whats important to them that may shape your product differently.
If you haven't worked out your personal outgoings and what the minimum profit you need to be making in that regard is, you also need to do that.
Then, figure if you have start-up costs and can cope with a few years of not making a profit/breaking even if the curve is likely to be slow. To speed it up, you can think of ways to boost numbers such as advertising, but it all needs to be figured into the numbers.
Basically, work out if the business is viable as early in the process as possible.
Another hood tip is to talk to a few similar businesses in otger areas that fit a similar nieche to ask for advice. As long as you are friendly and make it clear you are in a different area aka not a potential competitor most people will happily have a conversation with you, they could gove you a tip that could make all the difference
Exactly EASY this is extremely easy to do but the only thing that's not is preparing food buying food storing food and money to do all the above also employees and water also gas or maybe even finding a bathroom while working
Music is too loud. Other than that, good info.
This is great information. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you!!!!
Excellent video... Thank you so much
Thank you.. very helpful.
Thank you so much dude I really needed this info this more than ypu know and I say thank you because this is what I needed to know.
Glad I could help
What I been looking exactly for in 1 month found in 2 mins thank you!!
Glad I could help!
I appreciate that I needed these questions answered and here you are answering them following you now 💯☺️
Turn down the music lol 😆 😂 trying to learn lol
I’m dying 😭 I like to cook. This is too much
I’m in the process of saving to buy my trailer! I have everything other than the trailer and the commercial kitchen
Thank you
You're welcome
Amazing advice. Love this video
Thank you. More to come soon!
It's the getting started part .....
At step 6 where can I look for a food trailer or concession stand? Thank you!
one fat frog
What's a good website for food trailers?
If buying used. Facebook Marketplace. If buying now anything but The Fud Trailer AKA TFT co, now.
Thank youuuu!!!
You're welcome!
Thanks!
I appreciate it!!
Advice on starting a food cart hotdog cart ? Is it the same formula
I imagine it would be the same just cheeper for permits
Woah didn't consider truck maintenance 😮
Luckily viewed this content 🤙🏼
Excuse me I didn’t understand why trailer is better than truck? And one more question
Is it necessary to have truck driving license?
Hi, can you explain the comercial kitchen step. What do you rent from them?
Essentially, you’re renting the space and the equipment needed to prepare the food
I had a question about the commercial kitchen, isnt the point to cook inside of your food truck or trailer lol or am i missing something.
It’s to prep. You’re not supposed to prep in your truck. Only cook what you’ve prepped.
@@DashinSimmons ahh I see that makes sense so I'm assuming that you just talk with a local church and pay to use their kitchen, how much do they charge? I haven't had a passion for much in life but I love cooking and I love the feeling of cooking for others so I hope to open my own food truck business someday. Thank you and God Bless man!
Is it mandatory to utilize a commercial kitchen or could you cook in the trailer if possible ?
Local here love Suzie's Chicken
thanking bro for this help
Yo whats the absoulute best generator to run a food trailer
I don’t get the step about the commercial kitchen. Why do I need that when I will have a kitchen in the trailer itself?
Any recommendations on a graphic designer?
Where i buy trailer
What website did you use to find your trailer you are using
why would i need a commercial kitchen ? why wouldn’t i just prep in the food truck lol
You don’t need a commercial kitchen- though I can see how it would be beneficial or necessary. But a lot of food truck businesses prep out of their truck
You are required by the health department to have a commissary kitchen to store and prep food.
The food is suppose to come out of a kitchen.
That's why alot of people open a restaurant first, then truck.
IKR. Defeats the purpose.
@@DashinSimmons what exactly is a commissary kitchen and it's purpose?
Why the commercial kitchen is you have the trailer to cook in just wondering
Thank you bro. Now my only question is why do you need a kitchen.
Because it's required. It's purpose is to do all of your prep in it. You're technically not supposed to prep on your Food Truck.
Whats the commercial kitchen for? If you have a food trailer
Dashin do you have an updated version of this?
So if you have a trailer why do you need a comercial kitchen? I thought trailers have everything inside?
Because the government said so
I’m on step 6.
Keep going!
Mean while if I’m a illegal immigrant I just hop a fence, set up my stand, sell food, and make a bunch of money tax free 😂
Fr lol
What about I can do all this step but can’t buy a trailers because I do not have enough money?
Thank you but The lyrics to song takes away.
I'm looking for a trailer used were can I find one
Used on Facebook Marketplace is probably the best. Just don't get scammed.
I just bought a trailer yesterday.. who do I look for to cut out the windows?
Any kind of handy man (or woman of course) the window isn’t difficult if you have skills around what it requires. Food truck builders are best though.
@@DashinSimmons Yoooo wat up. Congrats on your success bro I have an question how can I get your into your $6 class? I’m trying to get me an food truck too.
“Borrow at church” 😂 I know what you meant, but it still sounded funny to me.
Right how do u even do that lol
Envision envision encoding and I shall bring it to fruition
Why do I need a commercial kitchen
Get licenses a fees after getting the trailer ? Lol what if they deny you and you’re stuck with all that investment
Yes , that my confused … you dont have any location yet , you have to pay and pay everything and then you can apply for lisence and permit .. I’m like wtf
What if you get the license and then can't get approved for a trailer 🙃
You forgot to mention the fire safety inspection
It's not required in every state.
You shouldn’t have put the music in the background it’s kinda hard to hear what you are saying
I’ll post a new one. 👍
anyone see the supra food trailer?
Hi
What site can I use to find a food trailer?
If buying used. Facebook Marketplace. If buying now anything but The Fud Trailer AKA TFT co, now.
Music in the background is irritating
Bru why you logo looking like LPHs logo
quick question why do you file your LLC before Ein?
I did this backwards, but researched my state (secretary of state website) to make sure that no one else had the same biz name.
Why do you need to cook in a commercial kitchen if you have a food truck? Cant all cooking be done in food truck/trailer?
Is it okay to open a chicken restaurant and name it side chick?
I don't get Step 11. I mean, why do you need to borrow a kitchen if you'll be prepping and cooking in your food truck?
What am I missing here? Thanks
That’s what I’m trynna say
@@ChalrzzYou don't get it either?
I guess the only reason to hire a kitchen would be pre-cook or prep all your food so that all you have to do is heat it up in the food truck.
What’s a good price for a trailer
Dumb question, why are you sourcing another kitchen? Work hand in hand w the owner of the bbq restraunt I work at, and am very seriously considering breaking off into my own bbq food truck.
I don't see a reason to source a commercial kitchen unless it's a legal thing. Feel like I could prep sides and make the proteins at home.
Could do without the music I'm Partially deaf and was very hard to hear what you were saying
So hard to hear your voice over the music.
Whts a commercial kitchen for?
You can't make the food from home ?
❤️
The music is distracting ..
Helpful ... but what the fuck the background music
Blue Cheese
Dude, blur out your credit card info. Video technology can clean that up and see it clearly
Thanks brother!!! @Dashinsimmons
How much does all this cost?
Honestly just depends. I will make a full video on costs soon.
Can you decrease the volume of your voice, we have hard time listening to the music
Why going to a commercial kitchen?
The music doesnt help
Noisy!
Can you tell me more about the church ?
People go there to pray 🙏🏼
And use the kitchen apparently.
Why you need a commercial kitchen or church?
In that order huh?
Step 1 should be turn the annoying music off before you start an informative video
sounds easy huh...😂😂😂😂😂... try it tho...
explain 11 better please
By the time you get to step 10 I already sold 100,000 tacos 😂😂😂 dont waste your time on things that aren't important at the very moment. Some of you will spend MONTHS on a logo. Pathetic
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂Haha Haha 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Use a church.?
The kitchen at the church.
if you NEED a tutorial for this you shouldn’t be starting a food business
What? How do you obtain knowledge without learning it? 😂
@@sidneyblack1036because if you actually want to start a food truck business you don’t need a step by step walkthrough on what to do and how to do it lol.
What a dumb comment
