This map author is simply amazing. All of their maps seem so alive, and they all seem to have a story behind them. We may never know what it is, but's so clearly there. I'd love to see the devs add in a journal or note item so that we could get a better idea of what happened on them.

i know this is an old video but i’m currently on this island in my game and i didn’t know about so many of the things u did, like the rocks leading to caves.. omg so cool! i’m so excited to explore it even more now! the sharks and snakes are brutal here though!
Seems they’d have introduced a way to lash the gyrocopter to the raft so it wouldn’t go crazy. Better yet, all those lashings could form a rope to tow all the rafts from home to home. With all the buoyant items available this season, losing a raft wouldn’t hurt as bad as losing one in regular gameplay. Also... on the cave island, did you intentionally stunt the growth of the farm you placed in the cave? Plants don’t normally grow all that well in caves....seems sunlight would be kinda necessary for them.
Can you tell me a good seed please as I’m struggling to keep Interested the islands are plane. I cnt find any islands like yours I’m on the PS4. Cheers

When I create my islands I don't think about performance, I just make an environment that I think would be fun for players to explore and has nice details to discover. Sadly I can't control all the destroyed barrels and crates that spawn in with shelters and wrecks. We've been in contact with the devs and it's not just the amount of items that are causing the lag, hopefully new optimization will help.
@@paultrappiel9943 Yes, all the assets come with a certain amount of lootable containers, loose items, and destroyed crates/barrels. I've put in a few items around the island of course, but that's minuscule compared to what spawns in. Wish there was a way to toggle spawns on and off :)
@@camilla5311 Is it size dependent then? Small island = low items vs Large island = many items. I must admit I'm in the middle of upgrading my pc to play this game so I can't 'see it first hand' yet.
@@paultrappiel9943 Yes, that's a good way to put it, though a very big island with lots of landmass can still give you good fps if it barely has anything on it. Those with low PC specs should try to find small/medium sized islands. Some map makers write in their descriptions how big the islands are.

Why put so much resource on the island if it's just going to slow down even the fastest of pcs to a few fps?
