Very interesting video, you would think they would make those elevators movable in order to put the excess where those wheeled loaders were having to put it. I take it the bulldozer was working on that large mound 'out the back'. Which I presume was 'bagasse' now that they don't burn it, - or do they still, and that was simply excess, for which they have other uses. 👍👍.
From Jamaica, don't like machine harvesting of Cane ,, Spoilage is great. When will Boiling house n Crushing be a separate timing , this can be done by storing the Cane Syrup till after Crushing. It gives a better economy of energy use with respect of the Cooling Tower efficiency. After milling the Boiling house can be put in t o use. The idea is to make use of a fresh Cane Stockpile
That’s awesome to see final stage at the mill great video of it don’t see this much 👍
Very nice video, thanks Al!
That would be good place to tour
I was invited to go do some filming at and tour Lafourche Sugars in Thibodaux.. so hopefully I'll get some footage inside the mill
I agree, I like to describe the operation as a cooking experience in a kitchen.
Milling would be crushing to release the flavors
