  • Here is a fun strategy to keep students engaged, on task, and working. Watch this video to learn how to implement a token economy system in your lessons, classroom, homeschool, and manage your student’s overall behavior.
    What is Token Economy?
Token Economy is a positive reinforcement behavior management strategy for providing positive reinforcement to a student by giving them some form of token to encourage the increase of desirable behavior, and the decrease of undesirable behavior. Tokens are provided immediately following display of the desired behavior, and are collected and exchanged for a reward, such as desired objects or privileges.

Thank you for this! I just started the Pride Program with my daughter and have been having trouble with her attitude/behavior while we work. I downloaded the PDF for this chart. I think I'm going to make a reusable version by printing on card stock, sliding the chart into a plastic sheet cover, "laminate" the stars with clear contact paper, and then use self adhesive velcro to stick them to the chart.

Would this be suitable for an 11 year old with oppositional defiance disorder? Id like to introduce some sort of reward system, but feel a sticker reward chart would be too childish

Every child is different, but we've had great results with this system on children of all ages. We recommend trying it with your child and seeing if it's effective for you. Please keep us posted!
