    You only need four semesters / two years of a world language! Thank you so much for the video, very helpful :)
    Also- the prompts allow 250-600 words per application essay.

      Thanks for the update! Schools always release their new prompts in the fall, and it's great when people can put that info here. :)

    Hi! I'm a US citizen but going to high school in india, we did not have a world language available but instead I took my Native language for the required amount; we also don't have a gpa based grading system, it's a percentage/ letter grades based cgpa
    I have decent extracurriculars and a 1510 SAT, could you please reply to this comment to let me know?

    Getting admitted into Purdue is not as easy as she details depending upon you major; thus is very general for generic applicant. You must apply into a specific major and First Year Engineering is way more selective than the average. Other majors bring the average within the 60% accepted.

    • @jasonpatel13
      @jasonpatel13  2 года назад

      Engineering and business are significantly more selective majors at most universities. :)

      @@jasonpatel13there is no such thing as general applicant for Purdue, students must be admitted to college within the school, not just applying overall. The nursing and computer science programs are toughest admits, the computer science students nearly all have perfect ACT scores. Because tuition has not gone up since 2012, a large number of potential students apply, particularly within Indiana, where just over half students originate. It is (by far) the toughest of Indiana’s state schools to gain admission.

    How is a 4.3 gpa 1340 SAT and a 30 ACT score sound to Purdue.

      Purdue accepts students with lower grades. However, when you apply, you have to acknowledge that your chance of getting in is worse if your academics are worse than average.

    Are the requirements generally the same for transfer students?

    • @jasonpatel13
      @jasonpatel13  2 года назад

      In terms of academics, yes. But keep in mind that they're also going to be looking at whatever you've already achieved at the school your transferring from... whether good or bad.

    For Purdue, If I have a GPA way higher than the average, but my act is lower than than the average. Can I still get into Purdue engineering?

    • @jasonpatel13
      @jasonpatel13  2 года назад

      In general, it's harder than average to get into engineering than many other majors. As such, you may have an average GPA for Purdue engineering and a much lower than average SAT for Purdue engineering. While not impossible, this would make it harder for you to get in.
