File number 2241-1956 in the new York County Clerk's Office, shows that American Jewish writer Meyer Levin was awarded $50,000 in damages by the New York Supreme Court. This was to be paid to Mr. Frank for using Levin's work and passing it off as the writings of his late daughter, Anne Frank
Remember her words, "I finally realized I must do my schoolwork to keep from being ignorant, to get on in life." No truer words have ever been written. Shame so many in this world don't understand.
Really moving video. The song at the end is so beautiful and haunting. Thank you, as ever for the video. Yes I have read the diary. I found it really fascinating and very moving.
I've been waiting for this to drop! This is such a sad part of history, but it's so important to remember. Thank you for taking the time to do this video. 💜
Another excellent video. I learned a few new things about Anne and her family/friends. And the song at the end was very beautiful and touching. Heartbreaking that they were so close to surviving the war.
I remember reading her book in school and watching a movie based on it, along with writing a report on it. Although the past may be painful, we need to preserve it so that further generations can learn from it. 😢

The song at the end....wow! So incredibly moving! I bought Anne Franks diary when I was 14, she was an amazing writer but also a girl about to enter womanhood.... If only she'd been given the chance to!!! What an amazing woman she would have been. 💛
Both sets of my grandparents survived world war II. One was German, the other Dutch. They didn't want to tell me of the horrors of the war because they said they didn't want me to have nightmares. But when I was 12 years old I got my hands on Anne Frank's diary and I read it. I went to them with questions. They still would not give me answers because again, They said they did not want to give me nightmares. Thank you for this wonderful piece you've done. I'm what a beautiful touching song. I've never heard it till today and it made my eyes swell with tears.
This HAS too be one of your finest productions! I have visited the 'house' on two occasions, and Anne's spirit is felt throughout. Sleep well my friend, and thank you...
The sad reality is that people are soon forgetting about genocides, the horrifying part is that most people don't even care even as those genocides are happening. Rwanda is a stark example of this. People see it, shrug their shoulders, mumble something about how "bad" it is and return to their mundane life...unbothered. I would suggest that this diary be required reading in all high schools, but that only remidies one issue. I can't require that people have empathy and actually give a shit. How soon we forget, and how utterly shameful that we do.

If I recall correctly, I want to offer my true amd sincere condolences... It's nothing but a belated comment; I know. But I feel I need to offer it nonetheless, as loss is the one thing we will all face sooner, or later. May you always, remember him with love and happiness....
Just like Anne Frank, I have a passion for writing, and I like to think I have a talent for it, but Anne’s writing-for a 13 year old girl especially- is phenomenal. Had she survived the holocaust and went on to pursue her dream of becoming a journalist, she would have been world class. Anne Frank would have been one of the greatest writers of all time. For the most tragic reasons, she definitely is one of the most recognized.

@@WhyteZoneLol I’m very much aware of the Meyer Levin story. You’re right about Otto Frank having to pay out $50k to Levin, but it’s got nothing to do with the book or this claim that Anne Frank’s diary was really written by Levin and stolen by Otto Frank.
What a moving tribute that song is. 😢 I read about Anne Frank when I was around 11 or 12. I still to this day can't for the life of me understand why and how so much hatred exists and even thrives in this world. And the one's who look away and/or do nothing are just as equally guilty as the one's that committed the actual atrocities. We haven't learned that lesson yet, and the future isn't looking so great, either. Thank you for this great video! ❤

My parents insisted that I know all about history, especially the horrors of war and fascism. When I was only about 10 years old my mother rented a book for me when we visited the library and told me she wanted me to read it. It was a book that I can't remember the name of all about Josef Mengele's evil experiments. I read only a small handful of pages and remember being so afraid that I screamed, and I went and told my mom I was so scared. She asked me why and I told her it was because I was reading that book about Mengele. She said, good, you should be horrified by it, because those people were evil, and that you have to read things like that so that we can all prevent the evils of the past from ever happening again. Over the summer in 2009, my mother insisted I read while I was out of school--said it would help keep my mind sharp. She got me two books, one, a Tom Clancy novel, just because she said I might like it. And the other was the Diaries of Anne Frank. I read both books from front to back. Clancy, of course, didn't have the impact on me that Anne Frank's story did. When I realized at the end of the book that she died at that same age I was sitting there reading that book, murdered, I cried and cried. It made me realize how unfair the world is and how evil must be fought against tooth and nail to prevent children from ever being killed by barbaric devils like the nazis ever again. In the modern day I proudly identify as antifascist and I don't think twice about being made fun of for being against concentration camps and child murder.
