Here is the @IsNotRetro 's Echoes of the Eye supercut, another very observant run of the game. Again he avoided the ship log for the most part to not spoil himself.

i like how he deduces the eye church was burned down from the galvanization of the steel in the symbol lol and not the burned wooden structure around him
well, granted that past a certain point of degredation it's hard to tell apart a burned building from a rotten one
Little John built the church out of galvanised eye of the universe Square Steel and bolts borrowed from his Nomai Aunt
It's not galvanization, It's a thin oxide layer, Bismuth is famous for it
@@cal5365help that made me snort
He noticed he was about to enter from the opposite side on his second trip before even entering!?
This guy has expertise in perception.
he really fucking does!
I love the moments in eelis supercuts where a rather unremarkable moment for the player of dropping the artifact is included, just because you know the viewer is on edge wondering if they’re gonna walk far enough away
eelis supercuts are elite and this one is at the top for me this dude understood shit so quick
I’ve never seen anyone who wasn’t a speedrunner notice it, but that thing in the sky in the simulation was his ship; the game doesn’t remove it, and speedrunners use it to get the suit back, in the sim.
Wait, how the hell they get into it?
@@KitsuneMaskuit’s called the “day dreaming” bug if you want to look it up
@KitsuneMasku very, very carefully position it outside the Stranger where the dream world loads in, then let gravity do its thing once the dream world is loaded.
If you want to watch the devs comment on it, they did so for a GDQ a year or so ago, that I quite enjoyed. And also, IGN does a ‘devs react to speedruns’ series, as well.
Man I saw this thing when I revisited the game a few months ago and I was like what the frick is that?
Awesome that this has a reasonable explanation.
IsNotRetro might be my favorite person playing these games, I didn't even know they existed until the supercuts, but they have just the right combination of theorizing, noticing small details, being methodical in their approach and a soothing voice. Even the theories that end up being wrong (like the plant based species) end up being interesting because they have clues hinting at them. Genuinely feels like a new playthough in a way to watch these.
Right? All the observational skills and theorising of AboutOliver combined with the empathy and engagement with the narrative of BeccaBytes, IsNotRetro has immediately become one of my favourite travellers and I'm so glad I got to see his journey
Couldn’t agree more it’s a treat for the mind
1:33:45
I’ve never seen anyone else recognise that it’s Feldspar based on the ship! I’ve seen some not realise until it cuts to the museum, and I’ve seen some realise upon seeing Feldspar in the suit, but I’ve never seen anyone figure it out based on the ship alone.
10:40 the comedic timing of him looking up before getting crushed was just perfect
On the first loop he already noticed the detail about the jetpack fuel being found in the churches because they used it for flamethrowers. This is definitely gonna be a good playthrough.
GALVANIZATION
huh, thats basically one of the most obvious things you could have taken as an example
Years later I never realised that
"Hii guys, ahm
I'm from Timber Hearth,
I'm really friendly, the universe is ending, aahhh
Please tell me all your arcane knowledge... no. NO! " 😅
(59:33)
Gotta love how everyone playing this DLC is afraid of the owlfolk and here I was conditioned by the base game to think "aliens are nice" instantly running towards the first owlfolk I found in the dream (in the mangrove forest) to greet them only to get a nasty surprise...
I think it's cause of the reduced frights warning. I reckon if the popup didn't happen, people would be much less scared initially of the owlks.
I barged in and shouted "DO YOU GUYS KNOW WHERE THE DENNYS IS?" then proceeded to panic when I realized the door closed behind me xD
Fellow friend enjoyer!
same except i was like "HUGS? HUGS! OMG HUGS?! FOR REAL HUGS?? H- [blow] oh. okay. i can take a hint. you don't like me. :c"
59:28 this is probably the best first encounter experience of Echoes of the Eye I've ever seen
What's crazy is that he was mere moments away from seeing them all get extinguished.
I wonder if the game actually interrupts them if they're holding you and then the dam water extinguishing the first fire...
@@rob-rendell It does. I remember seeing someone, I forgot who, accidentally figure that out.
@@TheJLDoylewho?!
@@pontefit4447 I finally found it! It was in Jinzee's playthrough. I'm not sure if it was the same @TheJLDoyle was talking about, but it happened to her.
Obsessed with the fact that in the ow play through by sheer coincidence retro kind of had a similar arch as the owlks about the eye, like in the base game he was convinced that the eye was a bad thing that destroyed the universe until eventually he learnt the eye was neutral and also what allowed a beautiful new universe to be born, and the owlks as well thought the eye was scary and dangerous until the prisoner realized it just was, and what came after would be beautiful

Narrator: "This was not what 'concentric rings' meant."
1:33:45
You know they paid attention when they can recognise who it is not just from the outfit, but from the ship.
yeees! feldspar has such a great spaceship design, more reminiscent of our spaceships. its a shame that so few people take the time to look at everyone's ship
Eelis. Please. Spare me.
It's 2am. I wanted to go to sleep because I have a cold.
And yet you tempt me with a supercut of Retro playing OW DLC.
I am but a simpleton; you show me OW supercut, I watch it
Hope you get over your cold and feel better soon, fellow astronaut ::)
1:15:02 I’VE ACTUALLY NEVER SEEN THAT OMG
Accidental lucid dreaming.
@@Rapandreasnah that’s here: 1:18:45
@@nicu.1871 Whoops. Guess I just found a timestamp in the ballpark.
Highly recommend y'all check out IsNotRetro's other series if you haven't, he's done all the other classics like Obra Dinn, Tunic, Inscryption, etc
1:18:50 what in all of the outer wilds are the odds that he would find his own ship orbiting the stranger while in the simulation
God I love Retro’s play through. Such an observant and curious player
Accidentally speedrun strating lmao love lucid dreaming
10:41
BRUH AN AD PLAYED LITERALLY THE MOMENT HE LOOKED UP AT THE ELEVATOR I CAN'T-
1:36:01 it's so funny how observant he is at EVERYTHING else but doesn't clock that that is a sunRISE
also OH MY GOD FINALLY A LET'S PLAY WHERE THEY NOTICE THAT BLOWING OUT THE CANDLES MAKES PEOPLE DISAPPEAR FROM THE PICTURE. The scene's whole impact depends on that little detail, and somehow EVERY lp i've ever seen has missed it entirely
Honestly, this might be my favorite let's play of it i've ever seen. Dude notices every detail, thinks about the implications logically, and gets hit with all the big emotional moments in the best ways. So... cathartic, haha
I must have missed it when I was doing other things, any chance you have the time stamp or somewhere about where he noticed blowing the candles causing the pictures thing?
1:04:33 Oh man so I wasn't the only one who did this. I've recommended it to a few people if they wanted to feel depressed.
I hadn't considered doing that during the supernova... its depressing
It kinda reminds me of that one Austrian song about three brothers getting hanged, and they're all singing the lord's prayer in unison at the end as they're at the gallows (or I think it's supposed to be the lord's prayer - you can't really understand them because their dad shot their tongues out), and then you hear one of them being dropped down and hanged and only two voices remain, then only one, and then it's just the instrumentals. Good old Austrian music!
@@Watsuda thats morbid dang
@@Watsuda there is a brazilliansong where a band is dying, one by one, and the music loses that player's instrument. But it's played out humorously
holy shit i watched the original game supercut yesterday and was thinking "man i can't wait for his echoes of the eye playthrough" and i didn't even have to wait. beautiful
25:00 man, if he had brought the artifact with him. Hoooooo boy!
Already watched the whole thing after I fell in love with IsNotRetro's stuff. What a blast it was, he was so scared, haha. Time for the supercut! Thanks, Eelis!
Couldn't wait for this supercut so I've just watched his series, but I'm going to watch this video aswell ::)
I just now noticed how many more stars there used to be. Wow.
59:48 oh he was SECONDS away from learning the secret immediately.
The desire for immortality is not evil. What is evil is the extreme limits someone will go to in order to achieve that immortality
1:06:30 love the instant reaction to close the artifact
I think I've watched more than 20 playthroughs on this channel and I'm still in tears every time it comes to the ending. An absolutely beautiful game and the incredible work you did allows me to experience it all over again. Thank you Eelis, IsNotRetro and everyone who was there before and will be after this video.
IsNotRetro picking up on the context clues way better than I did when I played it.
3:53 What... what heck is that satelite? I've never seen that thing before an any playthrough or video.
That's hilarious that he found a completely unrelated hidden object while searching for the Stranger xD
ive seen it before in some videos and managed to find it once in-game. it's just a backer easter egg, not too complicated but really cool
Backers' easter egg
+1 first time seeing that
its the fig backer satellite. people could pay money to put an image or audio file in the game.
I’ve never noticed the Dark Bramble before the seed ripped it apart in the slides! This game; always something new to notice!
1:08:04
"You're a shit guard, fuck you bird!"
*Falls into water* 🤣
I liked the theory that they were plant creatures with leaves instead of feather 😂 was a great watch.
Perfect timing to watch this with my cookies
ENVY!
This has to be one of my favorite Outer Wilds playthroughs so far because of his ability to notice details and theorize... I humbly hope that Eelis would consider gracing us with a supercut of his OMORI playthrough!
1:18:40 VERY smooth transition. You got me
Thank you @Eelis!
you're amazing! thank you
Everything following 1:07:20 is so great.
Wow again a fantastic playthrough (and edit!). Might be my favourite EotE playthrough yet.
I just watched his entire playlist and was about to load up his subnautica playthrough but looks like I’ll relive it through this supercut first bc wow was it great
"Did he just snap my neck?... Ok maybe they aren't friendly."
I’m glad you kept the “are the strangers plants” theorizing. Excellent through line
40:07 lol "It's kind of hard" says the guy who flew to the sun station on his first try.
I really appreciate how you put these EotE supercuts out so soon after the base game cut.
9:20, wow thats good detective work.
1:18:49
This guy notices everything, even the tiny ship which shouldn't even be there. Absolutely incredible.
It's good to see all humans are afraid of the same things. Nice job, Mobius Digital.
Wow, thanks for your efficiency. Just finish the main playthrough, and it’s a great pleasure to see the clip of dlc!
I can't watch a eote supercut without crying at the end
Locked in, players
I'm still watching all your previous supercuts of Outer Wilds, but thank you, Eelis, for making these Q-Q I took a long break from this game because... well, Echoes of the Eye is terrifying, and scary shit is hard, so it took me a year before I finished the game. But since I did a couple weeks ago, I CANNOT stop coming back to it. And judging from what everyone else says, I doubt that'll ever change!!!! I watch these supercuts when I'm doing simple tasks at work, and I watch them when I get back home, do chores, etc., so thank you for editing these digestible compilations together :'>
No accidental discoveries this is perfect playthrought
Wow! that was quick, there goes my evening
This guy has one of the best playthroughs man! So fun to watch, thanks for the Supercut Eelis! Gotta go watch his Tunic playthrough now :D
this guy noticed the chains lol wild observational skills
edit: I'm glad the dark parts were as emotionally challenging for him as they were for me. I played it super duper safe because I was so scared
Just found this channel and I’m seriously excited to watch such a well edited playthrough of Outer Wilds! Awh and the little edited conversation with you at the end is priceless
I love this channel, Outer Wilds is an incredible experience and they only way to relieve it watching people play for the first time. Supercuts of this and Celeste are my favourite things to watch :) Thanks for putting in the work!
I love this game.
It pulls the magic trick of being able to experience the game for the first time twice.
This is my favorite outer wilds playthrough. I love his channel
Finally, we are getting some 🐀 representation here.
Was waiting for this :d Thank YOU
Eelis, my god, your timing is impeccable as always! Thank you for all the work that you do!
Thanks for the cut eelis ::)
Btw retro also played tunic and obradinn, maybe you'd consider a video about those since they're from a similar style and people really liked retro
Have a nice day mate
Genuinely awesome playthrough
I never understood why the devs didn't just let you walk up with the Prisoner, have him say his farewell personally by the water, and let you see him extinguish his light and disappear into a mist of green particles like the rest of the Owls do when their lights get extinguished by the dam breaking. What happens to him and why would have been a lot clearer. I've seen a few people not understand what happened to him.
1:00:20 "No, no, no. I know this rock. Goddam you."
Ah, I remember that rock as well.
So tired after works, these supercuts are perfect to chill
"I really guys hope you're enjoying. Black WOAHf" is my favorite quote
Another amazing video from Eelis, keep up the good work and make some more 1st times for us who want to experience the wonder again
Came here after watching his playthrough, this will still be fun to watch I bet
Ok this is now my favorite playthrough of all. IsNotRetro has followed the best path, complete with careful observations, theories and details. This is how the DLC was meant to be played, it is a perfect experience for extremely smart & observant people like him who properly immerse in the universe and dont try to "game" the game.
Them (possibly) being plant-based adds a lot of irony to the "I wonder if there's any food" ending. Indicating that no, there was not.
You know, this DLC embodies "Truths is always hide in the dark"
@59:43 Blew the candle and got karma'd immediately
Yo I just finished watching the full playthrough yesterday. What timing!
sharp guy
Not started yet but i know this is going to be epic
Thank you Eelis
Does anybody know what the thing at 1:18:00 is? Is it the Hearthians ship?
Edit: Yeah its most definetly the ship, its rotating around a center point with a radius about as big as the Strangers radius (i looked at the original episode (10))
It is, apparently you can use it to speed run and get your suit in the dream, the game doesn't unload it
Frame 1 watch time to lock in
Honestly after also watching his Case of the golden idol playthrough its super entertaining to see how observant this person is, is there a chance of a cut of that, or maybe his obra dinn playthrough?
59:25
"No!"
*cut*
"F*ck!"
I would suggest doing one of these for juniperactias but I don't want to subject you to the pain of having to edit her playthrough down to a watchable length
1:04:40 oh wow ...
Yeah....
Popcorn time!
LETS GOOOOOOO
Lovely.
💜
Huh, I have never seen that
Maybe give some context for what you are talking about lol
🤣
Anything specific or just the DLC in general?
How!? 3:15
It just kinda randomly shows up lmao
1:18:50 - If you've seen the speedrun, you know. :;)
(I should specify, the DLC 100% speedrun. Or just look up "lucid dreaming" in the context of this game.)
Hey Eelis, maybe change the title for people who haven't played the DLC yet but are just seeing what content your channel has because this has potential to be a big spoiler..
I get it but implying it's a big spoiler is more of a spoiler than the title would be, I think 😭
28:00 I always wondered if some species out there sent the Interloper. It couldn't have been the Owliks but it might have been someone else with similar motives of preventing anything from getting to the eye.
It seems like a perfect solution. Send an anti life bomb to the solar system where the eye is and make sure no living creature can reach the eye.
I think theres a couple mods that have tried to answer that question. Personally, I sorta like the idea that ghost matter is totally natural. I think it really tells that theme that the universe keeps on moving without you - escall's clan, for all their technology, were killed off not by their machines or their discoveries but by a random even in an uncaring universe.
1:07:40 made me laugh
::)

Refreshing to hear someone call it a ringworld instead of a halo.
YES. This! New favorite EotE run hands down. Almost everyone else steps in, looks around and goes "Oh look it's Halo" and my soul dies a little.
People dont say its A halo. They say it IS halo since ringworlds were used in the halo franchise
Hey Eelis. Where is this location at 1:01:36?
1:43:34 LMAOOOOOOOOO yikes
