  • Ive done what i could in an 8 minute video with limited battery run time to get a baseline for each voltage.
The next step would be to run longer tests for each voltage using smaller differences in prop sizing, with runs long enough to measure operating temps.

mate, your setup is way too hot...900kv x 44.4v (12s) = 39,960rpm, your loosing the torque that why when you uses a bigger prop its tend to become slower and your motor, esc and batteries heats up due to drawing too much amp. You can copy my setup on my 47" mono with 20s 370kv motor and 400A HV esc( overkill actually, 100a should be enough) and 455/3 prop( have limited size of prop). My setup calculation with 370kv x 74v(20s) = 27,380rpm which is the max setup actually, beyond that it just heats up fast. Here the link to my boat which is already 10yrs ago..lol. ruclips.net/video/aauzLxRV3YU/видео.html

Thanks for the input. The purpose of the video was more about the process of selecting props for different voltages. Most people with go with around 750kv on 12s but i prefer 600kv personally ( ive built around 50 12s boats in my time). Ive never heard of a 20s boat and i will definately check out your channel.

@@RCBoatBitz you gonna loves it once you go for much higher voltage setup with proper setup.

@@Linoge279 ill step it up to make the yt video but after that ill swap it back, 80kph on 6s is totally fine for this style boat imo
