BTS is still a group. Due to their mandatory military service they have placed their group activities on hold . We are awaiting their return in 2025. JK didn’t break away from anything . The band is on a hiatus currently , cause all the members are doing their mandatory military enlistment. The first member and also oldest member is getting discharged this june. And yes all the members have solo careers that they all launched during the last 2 years. Jk is also the youngest in the group. 2025 is when they all get discharge from the military and reunite again as BTS.
They actually all have had solo careers in the group from the beginning. The rappers had more stuff & the singers had more singles and covers but they all have had solo music in the group since pretty much the beginning.

Also, they all dance but the dance line (J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) are a subunit of the group that would be the ones to do special dance performances. The Rap Line subunit ( RM, Suga, J-Hope) have songs that only include the 3 of them. And the Vocal Line subunit (Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) have songs that only include the 4 of them.

Thank you for reacting to BTS. I won't repeat what others have already said, as they have explained it well. I will add that, in my opinion, the fact that all members have been encouraged, supported and given the opportunities to always have solo songs and solo ventures, as well as being BTS, is one of the reasons for their longevity and success. There are no ego's here. No one has to fight to be heard or to pursue something they want. It has helped them be better artists. And each solo piece they do is always met with huge support and compliments from all the other members. Their earlier solo work is included in BTS albums. As Taehyung recently said in an interview while promoting his solo album - "you need to understand, BTS loves BTS". That's why this works. They all have solo careers and always have done solo projects in addition to being in BTS. Also, Jungkook does not go by “jung.” If you want to call him a nickname, JK is what he uses.
Jeon Jungkook is an amalgamation of the other 6 members, yet incredibly, his authentic & honest self is always fearlessly presented, without shame or doubt about who he is. He had a full tilt boogie career, before he was even 14 years old, chronological age. I didn't even know who the he** I was at 14 years old.

But as you know it's more like his personality incorporates elements of all his 6 hyungs. For Father and Son: Jungkook entered training when he was only 13 or so, and he was very shy - shy enough to hide in the toilet and not to shower until everyone else was asleep. But his hyungs looked after him well and were very kind, and he came to trust them and to love the - as they love him. Not all young members in idol training had that experience - some groups could be cruel (it is an incredibly competitive environment) but BTS were not like that. They literally brought him up through all his teenage years and all went to his school inauguration and graduation ceremonies - (and took us with them). He debuted at the age of 15 and has since then talked many times about their influence on him : see his song Begin - an amazing performance. On Suchwita with Suga, he clarified that rather than having their personalities, he'll hear himself say something and realise that comes from another member, just like you might hear your dad or your brother in something you say. JK is Jungkook from BTS. That's how they all are - from BTS. Their loyalty will always be to BTS first. They are 7 of the most incredibly talented individuals, all of whom have released solo work that has been chart topping. Together though, their talents mesh into the global phenomenon that BTS is. They are all distinctly different with their vocals yet blend beautifully together. At the moment all 7 are serving their mandatory military service and ARMY are eagerly waiting for their return in 2025.
They have solo projects. BTS is still a group they in my eyes as an old Army will always see BTS as 7 they are a group that sometimes do solo work. So Jungkook hasn’t gone solo he’s still part of BTS . BTS hasn’t broken up nor have plans to do so

I won't be surprised if they do less group activities in the future and take more time off and time to pursue solo activities, but I don't see them breaking up. (hope not anyways). What you have to understand about BTS is, that they are not like western boybands where the members get pushed into the band and don't get along or each have their separate goals for the future.. the priority for all the members of BTS is BTS.. I'm pretty sure each member would drop what they are doing instantly to do group activities again.. for them there is no "I", only "we".. on their solo journeys they always introduce themselves as part of BTS.. they regard each other as brothers/family not just friends.. some of them lived together for almost 10 years, all of them lived together for at least 7 to 8 years.. as they've said a few times.. they've spend more time with each other than their own families.. Jin once even said he feels nervous on his own.. when they entered the military you could see it on their faces how hard it was for them to separate.. so even if it were not confirmed, ARMYs would have no doubt, that all the members continue group activities after their service finished in 2025.. 💜
Being the main vocalist of BTS doesn't mean he actually sings lead on all their songs. He does a ton of the ad libs and harmonies, but which of the four vocalists takes the lead varies a lot. There are quite a few songs where they share the arrangement pretty equitably, and they all have solo songs as well. Fake Love is a good example of a BTS song in that sense - they hand the melody around. Your interpretation is solid. This one's about being in a relationship and realizing that in order to try to keep love alive you're changing yourself beyond recognition. If you need to change to deserve love, that's not love.

I love to see men's reactions because people think that BTS is just a boy band and they're soooooooo wrong!!. Some of the really early stuff was too - we don't talk about it as often, but they have some very boy-meets-girl songs on the first couple of albums. 🤣 Once in a while someone tells people their songs all have deep meaning (which isn't what you said, I know) and it always makes me want to say "not quite all" so they don't go nuts trying to find the deeper meaning to, like, Dimple 😁
Jungkook is the lead Vocalist of the group. RM is the leader of the group. No JK did not break from the group. They are all doing their mandatory Military service for their country. They will all reunite in 2025. They all did solo activities before each one went into the Military. With the exception of Jin. Jin did one song before entering the Military. Jin will return from his Military service in June of this year. Hopefully he will also do his own solo activities.
Jungkook is the main vocalist but RM is the group leader. They all have roles. Though I have a favorite they wouldn’t be this great without each one. None of them left BTS so JK is still the main vocalist, they just did some solo stuff before they had to enlist. They have done solo songs before. You should watch Taylor’s guide to BTS it’ll really make you love them more and understand why each member is important and contribute equally I’m a fairly new army so I’m sure other army can give you more info and/ or correct me.
I agree. I also think along with Taylor Mari's guide, xCeleste's hardships video is good to help further under stand what they have been through and why the bond with ARMY is so strong and unique.

The song has layers, it's well done in that it's relatable on multiple levels, which allows it to resonate with so many people. To address your question, JK can be considered the main vocalist, although the group was formed around the leader, RM. They have the rap line (RM, J-Hope and Suga) and the vocal line (Jungkook, Jimin, V and Jin). It should also be known that they've done solo work pretty much from the beginning, they have solo songs on their albums and the have songs that are just the vocal line and just the rap line as well as songs that are just a few from both lines. There are many YT videos on their official YT channels, which I really appreciate.
I will be so glad when my babies come back home from the military. I miss BTS so much. There are no other group like BTS no where in this universe. They are their own, (the whole package) they cannot be compared to NO ONE.
Seconding a recommendation to react to the Guide to BTS Members by Taylor. It will tell you a lot about BTS and each of the members, but it does only go up to their releases as of May 2022 which was JUST before they announced their temporary hiatus for military enlistment and started releasing more solo projects. You have to watch 'ON' Kinetic Manifesto Film : Come Prima & Black Swan. They are both perfect MV that display just how bad ass BTS is. Music, Choreography and performance. Please you need to stop calling JK Jung. That is not his first name his first name is Jungkook. His last name is Jeon. None of the guys are breaking away from the group. The group is entirely intact. Each of the members has pursued solo work, but that is within the framework of BTS. Jungkook IS considered the Main vocalist in the group, which by the way, is different from the Lead singer. This song can be about a relationship between a romantic couple, but it can also mean the relationship you have with yourself. Wanting to be someone you’re not and changing yourself to become someone that you lose sight of who you actually are. In the new BTS book, the boys also mentioned that they were going through some tough times when they wrote this song. But they didn’t want their fans to worry, so they always put a smile on when they were on stage. But the fandom grew bigger and bigger and they got all this love from fans. Which made them question if the love from fans can be real if the fans aren’t seeing the real them but a version of them where they put on a mask to hide their exhausted selves to step on stage. Believe you me…their songs can go deep. To a level that I wasn’t used to. Took me some time to get used to it and start thinking more while consuming their content. Totally opened my mind
This topic can be very confusing, but in K-pop the terms “leader”, “main vocalist” and “lead vocalist” mean specific “jobs” or sets of duties within a music group. “Main vocalist” is the closest to a “lead singer” in Western music but not a direct equivalent. (It definitely does NOT mean the rest of the members are any less important or valued) The position of each member within a K-pop group (they can have more than one) is an area of performance responsibility (rapper, vocalist and/or dancer) and the designations (main, lead, [base], sub) are similar to military ranks (different duties or levels of responsibilities). These positions/designations are not set in stone, over time members can grow into additional ones and/or become “all rounders” able to excel at all of them. They don’t necessarily determine the distribution of lines/verses on songs either (at least not in BTS). BTS has 1 Main rapper (RM), 1 Main vocalist (Jungkook) and 2 Main dancers (J-Hope and Jimin). They are like the “captains” or “co-captains” of the rap line, vocal line and dance lines respectively. “Leads” have a different set of responsibilities and are like “2nd in command” for their line. Jimin is the lead vocalist and Jungkook is the lead dancer. (J-Hope, Jimin, Jungkook and V are the official dance line) “Leader” is a different role, responsible for keeping the group organized and serving as the liaison between the group and their entertainment agency. They are often fluent in several languages and usually the oldest and/or the one with the longest training. They often speak on behalf of the group at special events or in interviews. BTS’ leader is RM, but when it comes to tweaking and polishing their dance routines their dance leader (J-Hope) takes over. Hope this helps clear up confusion, rather than make it worse 😅
Jungkook is the main vocalist, this means he is responsible for singing the guide when they start a new song, also he sings most of the layered choruses which are loaded on a backing track. He is not necessarily given most of the actual vocal parts, all 4 vocalists take parts. Currently BTS is on a hiatus because they all have to do mandatory military service. They started enlisting over a year ago so that some were working on personal projects while other served. This was partly to keep tje fans happy and also to keep up revenue for their management company. Jin who enlisted first will be released in june, he is the only member who hasn't yet released a solo album, but he will have abyear to work on one until all the guys are free. I think an album from Jin will be something very special, he has such a wonderful voice. If you want to hear some Jin watch Awake, Epiphany, Moon and The Astronaut.

Jin, v, jimin and jk are the vocalist and rm, suga and jhope are the rappers… they all have their own solo careers. Even though they all dance jhope and jimin are known as the mane dancers that they all look to. You should watch their tv shows in the soop and other things they have done
BTS isn't like most boy groups where there are one or two stars. All seven are super talented and very different so you get a nice mix of styles, but they all like and appreciate different genres. They do have official titles, but at this point of their careers they are so advanced that I'm not sure they are necessary any more. JMO :) But you asked about JK. His titles are the main vocalist (highest), lead dancer (right below main), sub rapper (he rapped in their early songs), and center of the group. RM, one of the rappers is the Leader of the group. It's kind of hard to explain. :) Even though they all have their own niches and may excel in certain areas, they can all dance, all sing and all rap. The vocal line rapped in concert to the song "Ddaeng". You should check it out. Also, at some point you may find it interesting to see their beginning. JK was only 13 when he joined as a trainee and 15 when they debuted. V and Jimin were 17 when they debuted, RM was 18, J-Hope 19, Suga and Jin were 20. You mentioned J-Hope when he was rapping. He just recently released a mini album called "Neuron". It goes along with the docuseries he has on Amazon Prime taking us back to his roots in street dancing. The album is chill and very different from his last album which was more Rock influenced. I suggest "More" from his "Jack in the Box" album. That's what is so wonderful about these boys. You never know what you will get. Hope you check all of them out. For RM, I suggest "Wildflower and Joke" (two totally different sides to him), for Suga aka Agust D, I suggest his trilogy "Daechwita", "Haegeum" and "Amygdala". For Jin (he is the only one without an album because he went into the military a lot sooner than the others), but he does have some singles. Try "Epiphany" live under BTS and "The Astronaut" (either live at Coldplay concert or the mv). For JK "Still With You" (a song he co-wrote and produced during COVID for ARMY) and "Euphoria" live in Osaka, Japan. For V I suggest "Fri(end)s" and "Slow Dancing" (or the Tiny Desk Korea Concert). I agree, for what it's worth, that their official positions aren't very important at this point. I think that's part of why a lot of HYBE groups don't have official performance positions anymore - they tend to be limiting. They have roles that they usually play in performances, but those are based on their skills not on an external assignment. And they've all stepped into different roles at times. It's a lot more flexible and leaves room for growth of the individual members. I'm not saying that JK isn't important as vocal leader or Hobi as dance leader, they really do amazing things to lead and balance the group. I just think that's about who they are, and it doesn't matter if they have an official position or not 😁
BTS has given themselves permission and even encourage themselves to create their own music and share it freely. They feature solo performances in their BTS concerts. They have solo mixed tapes, CD’s and have recorded with other artists. This freedom of expression in my opinion is the glue that has kept them together. Get to know BTS first but then search each members solo projects that have all broken records. There is not a Justin Timberlake or Harry Styles breakout. Every single one of them have and will sell out their concerts. Suga had a huge sell out concert series , J Hope broke Lollapalooza 2023 fastest selling out. V’s album is still in the charts. When it comes to BTS they call can sing and rap. RM said JK is a lead singer but the more I dive into BTS i see that its not just JK that can sing. There is also Jin, Jimin, V and also J-hope. Those guys can do it all.💜💜💜
The main vocalists entails more than just singing. I can't imagine the pressure he felt at 15 years old to be named the main vocalist, but he handled it like a pro. :) and yes they all have amazing voices. To me it's almost a miracle that they ended up with such outstanding singers when NONE of them had any singing experience. If you are curious about the main vocalist title, watch Ida S.'s "Jung Kook the Main Vocalists of BTS". She does a good job breaking it down. I notice things now that I never noticed before... like all the times JK is singing adlibs and harmonies... sometimes in the backing tracks, but also in live performances. The others do, too, but not as much as JK. I think the older they get and now that they are so experienced, they seem to be dividing that up more, which is probably good.
RM only talked about JK's official position in the group. The other vocalists still have a lot of parts and solos indeed! As main vocalist he does a lot of harmonies, high notes, ad libs, records their guides (even the rappers' parts). SUGA said in Suchwita that he used JK's voice for his guides when he produces

JK is the main vocalist and Jimin is lead vocalist (those are different), but V and Jin also get good air time and flow in and out and around to fill out the sound. J-hope, one of the rappers is a regular subvocal in many, many tracks.
I have been watching your reactions for a little while now and you've become my favorite. I cant even remember which was the first reaction I watched of yours but im on a vacation from work and I went back to the beginning of your channel and the first video with JK in "too much" I said and here's where he slipped and fell into the rabbit hole of BTS. I've watched these guys grow since 2020 when my daughter introduced me to them with "Dynamite" and I too fell into the rabbit hole and i still have not resurfaced. They get me thru every work night from start to finish, 10 hrs, and i just jam all night long lol. @3:25 yes, jk *is* the main vocalist but it may not be in the sense that you're used to. Jungkook is not the leader (RM is). As main vocalist, he has a lot of parts, does a good amount of harmonizing, is the center at multiple points of choreo, etc. But it's not like a stand-alone frontman like it is in the west. Others may have more parts of the songs if the songs call for it. Other members are highlighted more in some choreos. There's not the typical ego or status that we usually see in the west. They do whatever the song or dance required if that makes sense. Also, he's the main *vocalist*, there is also a main rapper (RM) and main dancers (J-hope & Jimin). So, because they all treated as equals, they all have successful solo endeavors. P.s. the group is still together, just in the military (including Jk).

BTS is made up of three rappers and four vocalists. JK is the main vocalist. He has perfect pitch and records most of the backing vocals for all members, including the rappers. But that doesn’t take from the other members. All seven have award winning solo careers. You have barely scratched the surface. I recommend you check out some of the rap-line songs. Ddeng, Outro: Tear, the four cyphers, Ugh, etc. These songs do not have videos, so you can watch live performances or lyric videos.
JK is the main singer. So he does alot of background vocals and adlibs. If a member is sick he can support them. In fact he is capable of filling in for any member including the rappers. He is regarded as a vocal genius by producers. Big Bang told Suga and RM to stop using JK for the guide vocals for other artists as they were too intimidating. He does sing the guide vocals for BTS. . An interesting side note. He was the member who has had leadt vocal coaching. He was worried coaching would take out the individuality of his vocal tone. He performed as a masked singer in Korea when still as teenager western age and 20 korean age. He helped Jimin stabilise his falsetto. He told Suga he recorded his GOLDEN tracks one a day.

They all have solo projects since they announced they were enlisting in the military (June 2022). They all have different roles , main rapper/singer, main/lead vocalist, main/lead dancer etc. JK as the main doesn't equal JT as the main everything in his group NSYNC.
BTS is like the best present ever. I used to just like to watch and listen. I did not know names or faces or voices. Fast forward to today, I am into everything RUclips, Spotify, Weverse, V live, all the things. You need to watch ALL of their solo projects. The difference in their styles is mind blowing, then the get all together and it just goes up another level. All the members have their roles and they work great as a team while appreciating and acknowledging each other. JK is the main vocalist with Jin, Jimin and V being lead singers and J-hope being a sub-vocalist, RM is the leader and main rapper while Suga and J-hope are lead rappers and JK being a sub-rapper. J-hope and Jimin also are main dancers with JK and V being lead dancers. They all have their own strengths and they compliment each other like a puzzle pieces. They always had their solo projects from the very beginning of their careers, starting from posting free songs and rappers' mix tapes on SoundCloud as gifts to the fans and also to find their own sounds and grow as artists, to solo songs on BTS albums ending on what they call "chapter 2" which is them working on their solo projects during the group's hiatus as mandatory military enlistment called upon them. Some members could've waited longer until enlisting as the "bts law" (yes that's what South Koreans called it) allowed them to postpone the enlistment until the age 30 for their accomplishments (every male citizen has to enlist before they turn 28 years old), but they as a team decided that it's the best to enlist around the same time and be back together in 2025. They'll be back as a team in June next year right on time for their 12th anniversary. The original plan was for them to enlist in 2020 after their world tour but then the pandemic hit us, the tour was cancelled and everything went astray. If you want to learn more about the group and the members I'd recommend a guide by Taylor called "a guide to bts members: the bangtan seven" or the most beautiful life goes on: a story of bts" by rice squad I think he has an updated version. All the members have amazing solo music as well as still being in the group. As you now know they are serving their mandatory enlistment at the moment and will be back as a group soon!! While they began this new chapter all the members put out singles and albums to explore their individual styles. But they have always expressed loving the group and wanting to be in the group for as long as their bodies allow. You might find that the relationship between BTS and Army is really strong and a little intense. There are bad and good but mostly good :). Don’t be afraid to ask questions, we just ask that you are respectful and open minded as you listen to their music and learn about their journey because it has been a tough one. Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. Jk is the main vocalist and center in the group. The main dancers are JHope and Jimin. Lead are JK & V i think. The vocal line is great all around but JK has perfect pitch and is very stable more so then the others. That is why he is main. All the members have solo careers not just JK. They do this to prepare for military. So after they get back from military they can work on solo work and wait for the others to come back. After all are back group work can resume again. Looking at your channel history, I hope you genuinely start to like BTS and are not just using them for views. Yes, you don't need to love every song or become an ARMY, you can enjoy their music casually. ARMY knows Kpop reactions 'do numbers' in general, I can imagine it must be addictive. So if you keep listening I hope you start to read some of ARMY's comments giving you basic information, like how the members have been releasing solo mixtapes, singles, covers, EP's and albums throughout their 11 year career, but are still very much a group. The more people who enjoy BTS music the better as far as I'm concerned so good luck!💜

You are so right, this video is so much a cinema and the lyrics so poetic and deep. Must people have heard the superhit Dynamite, a cheerful funny song they gave us during the pandemic to cheer us up.(all in English) But most of their songs are deep and is a mix of Korean and english, with a lot of choreo. Hiphop, pop, rock, EDM, Latino, ballads.. whatever you are in the mood for.. as so many already has told you, the group is still intact, just a break because of the Military service. And that gave them space while waiting for enlistment, to do soloprojects, all 7 different amazing soloartiststs. I wish you dive a little deeper into BTS, like Black Swan and On(Kinetic Manifesto Film) and why not Dynamite😉 Another soloprojects to check out could be Suga(August D as solo) Daechwita and Haegum. BTS didn't break up they all have their solo endeavors while being BTS... JKs solo stuff came after the hiatus started because they have to enlist to the military for 18 months.. all eligible Korean men have to serve between the ages of 18-28..since the Hyung line( order BTS members) were all reaching the limit they chose to all go and get it over with
I think they waited for Yoongi to finish his tour - he went immediately after. The rest waited until December so that the 5 of them will all come back at the same time since Yoongi's service will be longer
Yeah, this isn't some boyband vapid shit. BTS speaks truth, with courage and authenticity. The rapine often does a lot of the songwriting and producing. RM is a literal genius with an IQ of 148. He's a brilliant lyricist and performer. As is SUGA (main producer) and J-hope. And yes, JK is the main singer, but the band leader is RM. Each member brings their own brilliance to the music, lyrics and performance and are each irreplaceable and unique.

First it’s Jungkook not Jung we call him JK as well 2nd BTS are still a grp they renewed their contract prior to all of them enlisting in the military. When they announced their Hiatus in 2022, they decided to all work on solos before enlisting. Jin and Jhope will be discharged this year and the rest of the members will be discharged in 2025. All the members themselves will tell you that the grp is their top priority. I suggest watching the guide to get to know them and their roles within the grp better.
Korean groups are so different than American groups. Korean groups put solo songs on group albums, and they can do solo projects while still being part of the group. They can also feature on other artists’ works. Basically, as long as it doesn’t hurt the group it’s supported. American groups on the other hand….if one goes solo, the group is usually done. I’m looking at you Justin Timberlake. 😑 Still bitter lol. BTS will reunite as soon as they are all finished with their mandatory military service in 2025. And we CAN’T WAIT!!!!

BTS is still a group. Due to their mandatory military service they have placed their group activities on hold . We are awaiting their return in 2025. Each of the members have released their solo albums to show their unique talents in music 🎶. Each have different styles of music which makes BTS a GREAT Group of 7 Kings 👑💜💜💜
JK didn’t break away from anything . The band is on a hiatus currently , cause all the members are doing their mandatory military enlistment. The first member and also oldest member is getting discharged this june. And yes all the members have solo careers that they all launched during the last 2 years. Jk is also the youngest in the group. 2025 is when they all get discharge from the military and reunite again as BTS.
They actually all have had solo careers in the group from the beginning. The rappers had more stuff & the singers had more singles and covers but they all have had solo music in the group since pretty much the beginning.

The Rap Line subunit ( RM, Suga, J-Hope) have songs that only include the 3 of them. And the Vocal Line subunit (Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) have songs that only include the 4 of them.

Thank you for reacting to BTS. I won't repeat what others have already said, as they have explained it well. I will add that, in my opinion, the fact that all members have been encouraged, supported and given the opportunities to always have solo songs and solo ventures, as well as being BTS, is one of the reasons for their longevity and success. There are no ego's here. No one has to fight to be heard or to pursue something they want. It has helped them be better artists. And each solo piece they do is always met with huge support and compliments from all the other members. Their earlier solo work is included in BTS albums. As Taehyung recently said in an interview while promoting his solo album - "you need to understand, BTS loves BTS". That's why this works. Enjoy the rest of your journey into the music and lives of these 7 amazing, intelligent, humble, kind humans.

But as you know it's more like his personality incorporates elements of all his 6 hyungs.
For Father and Son: Jungkook entered training when he was only 13 or so, and he was very shy - shy enough to hide in the toilet and not to shower until everyone else was asleep.
But his hyungs looked after him well and were very kind, and he came to trust them and to love the - as they love him. Not all young members in idol training had that experience - some groups could be cruel (it is an incredibly competitive environment) but BTS were not like that.
They literally brought him up through all his teenage years and all went to his school inauguration and graduation ceremonies - (and took us with them).
He debuted at the age of 15 and has since then talked many times about their influence on him : see his song Begin - an amazing performance.
On Suchwita with Suga, he clarified that rather than having their personalities, he'll hear himself say something and realise that comes from another member, just like you might hear your dad or your brother in something you say.

JK is Jungkook from BTS. That's how they all are - from BTS. Their loyalty will always be to BTS first. They are 7 of the most incredibly talented individuals, all of whom have released solo work that has been chart topping. Together though, their talents mesh into the global phenomenon that BTS is. They are all distinctly different with their vocals yet blend beautifully together. At the moment all 7 are serving their mandatory military service and ARMY are eagerly waiting for their return in 2025.
They have solo projects. BTS is still a group they in my eyes as an old Army will always see BTS as 7 they are a group that sometimes do solo work. So Jungkook hasn’t gone solo he’s still part of BTS . BTS hasn’t broken up nor have plans to do so

I won't be surprised if they do less group activities in the future and take more time off and time to pursue solo activities, but I don't see them breaking up. (hope not anyways). I believe that the main reason why so many people, of so many ages, like BTS is because of the lyrics of their songs, we identify with them so much.
What you have to understand about BTS is, that they are not like western boybands where the members get pushed into the band and don't get along or each have their separate goals for the future.. the priority for all the members of BTS is BTS.. I'm pretty sure each member would drop what they are doing instantly to do group activities again.. for them there is no "I", only "we".. on their solo journeys they always introduce themselves as part of BTS.. they regard each other as brothers/family not just friends.. some of them lived together for almost 10 years, all of them lived together for at least 7 to 8 years.. as they've said a few times.. they've spend more time with each other than their own families.. Jin once even said he feels nervous on his own.. when they entered the military you could see it on their faces how hard it was for them to separate.. so even if it were not confirmed, ARMYs would have no doubt, that all the members continue group activities after their service finished in 2025.. 💜
Being the main vocalist of BTS doesn't mean he actually sings lead on all their songs. He does a ton of the ad libs and harmonies, but which of the four vocalists takes the lead varies a lot. There are quite a few songs where they share the arrangement pretty equitably, and they all have solo songs as well.
Fake Love is a good example of a BTS song in that sense - they hand the melody around.
Your interpretation is solid. This one's about being in a relationship and realizing that in order to try to keep love alive you're changing yourself beyond recognition. If you need to change to deserve love, that's not love.

Jungkook is the lead Vocalist of the group. RM is the leader of the group. No JK did not break from the group. They are all doing their mandatory Military service for their country. They will all reunite in 2025. They all did solo activities before each one went into the Military. With the exception of Jin. Jin did one song before entering the Military. Jin will return from his Military service in June of this year. Hopefully he will also do his own solo activities.

Jungkook is the main vocalist but RM is the group leader. They all have roles. Though I have a favorite they wouldn’t be this great without each one. None of them left BTS so JK is still the main vocalist, they just did some solo stuff before they had to enlist. They have done solo songs before. You should watch Taylor’s guide to BTS it’ll really make you love them more and understand why each member is important and contribute equally I’m a fairly new army so I’m sure other army can give you more info and/ or correct me.

The song has layers, it's well done in that it's relatable on multiple levels, which allows it to resonate with so many people. To address your question, JK can be considered the main vocalist, although the group was formed around the leader, RM. They have the rap line (RM, J-Hope and Suga) and the vocal line (Jungkook, Jimin, V and Jin). It should also be known that they've done solo work pretty much from the beginning, they have solo songs on their albums and the have songs that are just the vocal line and just the rap line as well as songs that are just a few from both lines. There are many YT videos on their official YT channels, which I really appreciate.
I will be so glad when my babies come back home from the military. I miss BTS so much. There are no other group like BTS no where in this universe. They are their own, (the whole package) they cannot be compared to NO ONE.
Seconding a recommendation to react to the Guide to BTS Members by Taylor. It will tell you a lot about BTS and each of the members, but it does only go up to their releases as of May 2022 which was JUST before they announced their temporary hiatus for military enlistment and started releasing more solo projects.

This song can be about a relationship between a romantic couple, but it can also mean the relationship you have with yourself. Wanting to be someone you’re not and changing yourself to become someone that you lose sight of who you actually are. In the new BTS book, the boys also mentioned that they were going through some tough times when they wrote this song. But they didn’t want their fans to worry, so they always put a smile on when they were on stage. But the fandom grew bigger and bigger and they got all this love from fans. Which made them question if the love from fans can be real if the fans aren’t seeing the real them but a version of them where they put on a mask to hide their exhausted selves to step on stage. Believe you me…their songs can go deep. To a level that I wasn’t used to. Took me some time to get used to it and start thinking more while consuming their content. Totally opened my mind

This topic can be very confusing, but in K-pop the terms “leader”, “main vocalist” and “lead vocalist” mean specific “jobs” or sets of duties within a music group. “Main vocalist” is the closest to a “lead singer” in Western music but not a direct equivalent. (It definitely does NOT mean the rest of the members are any less important or valued)
The position of each member within a K-pop group (they can have more than one) is an area of performance responsibility (rapper, vocalist and/or dancer) and the designations (main, lead, [base], sub) are similar to military ranks (different duties or levels of responsibilities). These positions/designations are not set in stone, over time members can grow into additional ones and/or become “all rounders” able to excel at all of them. They don’t necessarily determine the distribution of lines/verses on songs either (at least not in BTS).
BTS has 1 Main rapper (RM), 1 Main vocalist (Jungkook) and 2 Main dancers (J-Hope and Jimin). They are like the “captains” or “co-captains” of the rap line, vocal line and dance lines respectively. “Leads” have a different set of responsibilities and are like “2nd in command” for their line. Jimin is the lead vocalist and Jungkook is the lead dancer. (J-Hope, Jimin, Jungkook and V are the official dance line)
“Leader” is a different role, responsible for keeping the group organized and serving as the liaison between the group and their entertainment agency. They are often fluent in several languages and usually the oldest and/or the one with the longest training. They often speak on behalf of the group at special events or in interviews. BTS’ leader is RM, but when it comes to tweaking and polishing their dance routines their dance leader (J-Hope) takes over.

Jungkook is the main vocalist, this means he is responsible for singing the guide when they start a new song, also he sings most of the layered choruses which are loaded on a backing track. He is not necessarily given most of the actual vocal parts, all 4 vocalists take parts.
Currently BTS is on a hiatus because they all have to do mandatory military service. They started enlisting over a year ago so that some were working on personal projects while other served. This was partly to keep tje fans happy and also to keep up revenue for their management company. Jin who enlisted first will be released in june, he is the only member who hasn't yet released a solo album, but he will have abyear to work on one until all the guys are free. I think an album from Jin will be something very special, he has such a wonderful voice. If you want to hear some Jin watch Awake, Epiphany, Moon and The Astronaut.

Jin, v, jimin and jk are the vocalist and rm, suga and jhope are the rappers… they all have their own solo careers. Even though they all dance jhope and jimin are known as the mane dancers that they all look to. You should watch their tv shows in the soop and other things they have done

BTS isn't like most boy groups where there are one or two stars. All seven are super talented and very different so you get a nice mix of styles, but they all like and appreciate different genres. They do have official titles, but at this point of their careers they are so advanced that I'm not sure they are necessary any more. JMO :)
But you asked about JK. His titles are the main vocalist (highest), lead dancer (right below main), sub rapper (he rapped in their early songs), and center of the group. RM, one of the rappers is the Leader of the group. It's kind of hard to explain. :) Even though they all have their own niches and may excel in certain areas, they can all dance, all sing and all rap. The vocal line rapped in concert to the song "Ddaeng". You should check it out. Also, at some point you may find it interesting to see their beginning. JK was only 13 when he joined as a trainee and 15 when they debuted. V and Jimin were 17 when they debuted, RM was 18, J-Hope 19, Suga and Jin were 20.
You mentioned J-Hope when he was rapping. He just recently released a mini album called "Neuron". It goes along with the docuseries he has on Amazon Prime taking us back to his roots in street dancing. The album is chill and very different from his last album which was more Rock influenced. I suggest "More" from his "Jack in the Box" album. That's what is so wonderful about these boys. You never know what you will get. Hope you check all of them out.
For RM, I suggest "Wildflower and Joke" (two totally different sides to him), for Suga aka Agust D, I suggest his trilogy "Daechwita", "Haegeum" and "Amygdala". For Jin (he is the only one without an album because he went into the military a lot sooner than the others), but he does have some singles. Try "Epiphany" live under BTS and "The Astronaut" (either live at Coldplay concert or the mv). For JK "Still With You" (a song he co-wrote and produced during COVID for ARMY) and "Euphoria" live in Osaka, Japan. For V I suggest "Fri(end)s" and "Slow Dancing" (or the Tiny Desk Korea Concert). For Jimin I suggest "Like Crazy" and "Set Me Free pt 2".

I agree, for what it's worth, that their official positions aren't very important at this point. I think that's part of why a lot of HYBE groups don't have official performance positions anymore - they tend to be limiting.
They have roles that they usually play in performances, but those are based on their skills not on an external assignment. And they've all stepped into different roles at times. It's a lot more flexible and leaves room for growth of the individual members.
I'm not saying that JK isn't important as vocal leader or Hobi as dance leader, they really do amazing things to lead and balance the group. I just think that's about who they are, and it doesn't matter if they have an official position or not 😁
BTS has given themselves permission and even encourage themselves to create their own music and share it freely. They feature solo performances in their BTS concerts. They have solo mixed tapes, CD’s and have recorded with other artists. This freedom of expression in my opinion is the glue that has kept them together. Get to know BTS first but then search each members solo projects that have all broken records. There is not a Justin Timberlake or Harry Styles breakout. Every single one of them have and will sell out their concerts. Suga had a huge sell out concert series , J Hope broke Lollapalooza 2023 fastest selling out. V’s album is still in the charts. Jimin hit #1 on the Billboard charts. Watch out for Jin. He’s coming out of the military in June. I am so looking forward to see what he’s going to release. Enjoy this rabbit hole you are in.🐇😉

When it comes to BTS they call can sing and rap. RM said JK is a lead singer but the more I dive into BTS i see that its not just JK that can sing. There is also Jin, Jimin, V and also J-hope. Those guys can do it all.💜💜💜
The main vocalists entails more than just singing. I can't imagine the pressure he felt at 15 years old to be named the main vocalist, but he handled it like a pro. :) and yes they all have amazing voices. To me it's almost a miracle that they ended up with such outstanding singers when NONE of them had any singing experience. If you are curious about the main vocalist title, watch Ida S.'s "Jung Kook the Main Vocalists of BTS". She does a good job breaking it down. I notice things now that I never noticed before... like all the times JK is singing adlibs and harmonies... sometimes in the backing tracks, but also in live performances. The others do, too, but not as much as JK. I think the older they get and now that they are so experienced, they seem to be dividing that up more, which is probably good.
RM only talked about JK's official position in the group. The other vocalists still have a lot of parts and solos indeed! As main vocalist he does a lot of harmonies, high notes, ad libs, records their guides (even the rappers' parts). SUGA said in Suchwita that he used JK's voice for his guides when he produces

I cant even remember which was the first reaction I watched of yours but im on a vacation from work and I went back to the beginning of your channel and the first video with JK in "too much" I said and here's where he slipped and fell into the rabbit hole of BTS. I've watched these guys grow since 2020 when my daughter introduced me to them with "Dynamite" and I too fell into the rabbit hole and i still have not resurfaced. They get me thru every work night from start to finish, 10 hrs, and i just jam all night long lol. My daughter recently discovered ateez "work" which it isnt bts but it has a nice get up beat and I can relate. Every night I hear that song and thats my new motto "gotta make that money make purse". @3:25 yes, jk *is* the main vocalist but it may not be in the sense that you're used to. Jungkook is not the leader (RM is). As main vocalist, he has a lot of parts, does a good amount of harmonizing, is the center at multiple points of choreo, etc. But it's not like a stand-alone frontman like it is in the west. Others may have more parts of the songs if the songs call for it. Other members are highlighted more in some choreos. There's not the typical ego or status that we usually see in the west. They do whatever the song or dance required if that makes sense. Also, he's the main *vocalist*, there is also a main rapper (RM) and main dancers (J-hope & Jimin). So, because they all treated as equals, they all have successful solo endeavors. P.s. the group is still together, just in the military (including Jk).

BTS is made up of three rappers and four vocalists. JK is the main vocalist. He has perfect pitch and records most of the backing vocals for all members, including the rappers. But that doesn’t take from the other members. All seven have award winning solo careers. You have barely scratched the surface. I recommend you check out some of the rap-line songs. Ddeng, Outro: Tear, the four cyphers, Ugh, etc. These songs do not have videos, so you can watch live performances or lyric videos.

JK is the main singer. So he does alot of background vocals and adlibs. If a member is sick he can support them. In fact he is capable of filling in for any member including the rappers. He is regarded as a vocal genius by producers. Big Bang told Suga and RM to stop using JK for the guide vocals for other artists as they were too intimidating. He does sing the guide vocals for BTS. . An interesting side note. He was the member who has had leadt vocal coaching. He was worried coaching would take out the individuality of his vocal tone. He performed as a masked singer in Korea when still as teenager western age and 20 korean age. He helped Jimin stabilise his falsetto. He told Suga he recorded his GOLDEN tracks one a day.

BTS is like the best present ever. I used to just like to watch and listen. I did not know names or faces or voices. Fast forward to today, I am into everything RUclips, Spotify, Weverse, V live, all the things. You need to watch ALL of their solo projects. The difference in their styles is mind blowing, then the get all together and it just goes up another level. You would think that they have accomplished everything already, but THE BEST IS YET TO COME! If you know you know😎😎
All the members have their roles and they work great as a team while appreciating and acknowledging each other. JK is the main vocalist with Jin, Jimin and V being lead singers and J-hope being a sub-vocalist, RM is the leader and main rapper while Suga and J-hope are lead rappers and JK being a sub-rapper. J-hope and Jimin also are main dancers with JK and V being lead dancers. They all have their own strengths and they compliment each other like a puzzle pieces. They always had their solo projects from the very beginning of their careers, starting from posting free songs and rappers' mix tapes on SoundCloud as gifts to the fans and also to find their own sounds and grow as artists, to solo songs on BTS albums ending on what they call "chapter 2" which is them working on their solo projects during the group's hiatus as mandatory military enlistment called upon them. Some members could've waited longer until enlisting as the "bts law" (yes that's what South Koreans called it) allowed them to postpone the enlistment until the age 30 for their accomplishments (every male citizen has to enlist before they turn 28 years old), but they as a team decided that it's the best to enlist around the same time and be back together in 2025. They'll be back as a team in June next year right on time for their 12th anniversary. The original plan was for them to enlist in 2020 after their world tour but then the pandemic hit us, the tour was cancelled and everything went astray. If you want to learn more about the group and the members I'd recommend a guide by Taylor called "a guide to bts members: the bangtan seven" or the most beautiful life goes on: a story of bts" by rice squad I think he has an updated version. Taylor's guide focuses more on introducing the members and the Rice squad one focuses more on the journey through the years and what they accomplished as a group

All the members have amazing solo music as well as still being in the group. As you now know they are serving their mandatory enlistment at the moment and will be back as a group soon!! While they began this new chapter all the members put out singles and albums to explore their individual styles. But they have always expressed loving the group and wanting to be in the group for as long as their bodies allow. You might find that the relationship between BTS and Army is really strong and a little intense. There are bad and good but mostly good :). Don’t be afraid to ask questions, we just ask that you are respectful and open minded as you listen to their music and learn about their journey because it has been a tough one. You have already show kindness so thank you!!!!

Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. Jk is the main vocalist and center in the group. The main dancers are JHope and Jimin. Lead are JK & V i think. The vocal line is great all around but JK has perfect pitch and is very stable more so then the others. That is why he is main. All the members have solo careers not just JK. They do this to prepare for military. So after they get back from military they can work on solo work and wait for the others to come back. After all are back group work can resume again. I am glad u watched the MV. Love this song. So catchy. There is an explanation vid by DKDKTV i think. Pls check it out. Also, there is dance choreo if u want to just check that on ur own or with us. We love long videos. They hide a lot in the MV. Watching the dance practice u see the bigger picture. In Film Out (another song just Japanese OST) they do have stuff blowing up too because BTS likes to reuse lyrics from old songs and choreo and anything else they like. So Film Out actually echo's Fake Love. =0] Did u spot Save Me written behind V? That is a call back to their song by the same name. Not sure if u heard it already. There is an MV for it. Okay Fake Love is about all relationships that can go bad in this way: romantic, familial, work etc. Where you can wear this persona that isn't you and lose yourself in it. It's about realizing that this relationship isn't real and it won't work because it's not based on the real you. It's based on this persona that is a lie. Jungkook picking up the sand and it turns into phantom petals is a representation of the line in the song "I grew a flower that can't bloom in a dream that won't come true" Some of the other aspects like the snickers bars and the toys in the room with J-Hope and fire in the room with Suga are all points that goes back to the BU or Bangtan Universe. BTS has a fictional story line that connects a lot of their videos together and Fake Love has some aspects of that in it.
In the intro of BTS '"Fake Love", Jungkook sings: "Love you so bad, love you so bad / Mold a pretty lie for you ... I grew a flower that can't be bloomed in a dream that can't come true ".
These sad lyrics were not just flowery words strung together, as the band intended to tell a story of heartbreak that extended from their previous work.
In the first verse, BTS sings: "I changed everything, just for you / But I don't know me, Who are you?".
The theme of disconnected lovers continues throughout the song. RM brought this up when speaking to Billboard around the time of the song's release. "We're trying to say that if you, in love, when you're not true to yourself, the love won't last", he told.
"Because love is complex and we always have the dark sides and the sad sides."
This song sings the agony of some sort.

Suga > fire and destroying the instruments (his piano and a guitar, maybe the highlight girl’s guitar..)
Jhope > snickers and the circus (where his mom abandoned him)

Yes, they did say it was about the traumas, it was in the behind MV shooting episode on BANGTANTV.
Jhope's is snickers and the Merry-go-round/Carousel, I don't think is a circus like they also said in the video (maybe it's a translation thing on my end ), in the room there's actually multiple parts of rides from a fair/carnival/amusement park, where he was abandoned.

LOL, Yes JK is considered the lead singer, however they all have solo careers that continue to break records weekly even now that they are all in military. The BU story is, J Hope was left at a amusement park with a candy bar, abandoned by his mother as a small boy. BUt don't worry to much about the BU right now. You have a way to go. The song is about all kinds of fake love.

In 2025 they will be reunited again after they serve their Country. BTS has 3 rappers, RM ( the Líder of the group, he was the first to enjoyed the group, main songwriter and producer, his stage name before was Rap Monster, when you see his yearly song and collaborations you will see why he is The Rap Monster, after fewer years he just abbreviated to RM ), Suga us the main producer and songwriter ( also his individual projects he used AgustD for his name), JHope is The Dance Líder, songwriter and producer. The vocal line are JK (Main vocalist), JIN, Jimin and V. They all songwriters, producers . They have their own chame called BANGTANTV, tha you can check out their music videos, live programs, shows and much more sense 2013, if you interested in learning about the boys. Thanks

Looking at your channel history, I hope you genuinely start to like BTS and are not just using them for views. Yes, you don't need to love every song or become an ARMY, you can enjoy their music casually. ARMY knows Kpop reactions 'do numbers' in general, I can imagine it must be addictive.
So if you keep listening I hope you start to read some of ARMY's comments giving you basic information, like how the members have been releasing solo mixtapes, singles, covers, EP's and albums throughout their 11 year career, but are still very much a group.
The more people who enjoy BTS music the better as far as I'm concerned so good luck!💜
Just an FYI... His first name is Jungkook... is surname is Jeon. In most Asian cultures, the last name is said first so his full name in Jeon Jungkook, no middle name.
You are so right, this video is so much a cinema and the lyrics so poetic and deep. Must people have heard the superhit Dynamite, a cheerful funny song they gave us during the pandemic to cheer us up.(all in English) But most of their songs are deep and is a mix of Korean and english, with a lot of choreo. Hiphop, pop, rock, EDM, Latino, ballads.. whatever you are in the mood for.. as so many already has told you, the group is still intact, just a break because of the Military service. And that gave them space while waiting for enlistment, to do soloprojects, all 7 different amazing soloartiststs. I wish you dive a little deeper into BTS, like Black Swan and On(Kinetic Manifesto Film) and why not Dynamite😉 Another soloprojects to check out could be Suga(August D as solo) Daechwita and Haegum. Every member has a solo career as well, so you will probably get a lot of suggestions😉 its just to start somewhere👍🙏 I really like your reactions and comments👍💜
BTS didn't break up they all have their solo endeavors while being BTS... JKs solo stuff came after the hiatus started because they have to enlist to the military for 18 months.. all eligible Korean men have to serve between the ages of 18-28..since the Hyung line( order BTS members) were all reaching the limit they chose to all go and get it over with
I think they waited for Yoongi to finish his tour - he went immediately after. The rest waited until December so that the 5 of them will all come back at the same time since Yoongi's service will be longer
Yeah, this isn't some boyband vapid shit. BTS speaks truth, with courage and authenticity. The rapine often does a lot of the songwriting and producing. RM is a literal genius with an IQ of 148. He's a brilliant lyricist and performer. As is SUGA (main producer) and J-hope. And yes, JK is the main singer, but the band leader is RM. Each member brings their own brilliance to the music, lyrics and performance and are each irreplaceable and unique.

First it’s Jungkook not Jung we call him JK as well 2nd BTS are still a grp they renewed their contract prior to all of them enlisting in the military. When they announced their Hiatus in 2022, they decided to all work on solos before enlisting. Jin and Jhope will be discharged this year and the rest of the members will be discharged in 2025. All the members themselves will tell you that the grp is their top priority. I suggest watching the guide to get to know them and their roles within the grp better.
Korean groups are so different than American groups. Korean groups put solo songs on group albums, and they can do solo projects while still being part of the group. They can also feature on other artists’ works. Basically, as long as it doesn’t hurt the group it’s supported. American groups on the other hand….if one goes solo, the group is usually done. I’m looking at you Justin Timberlake. 😑 Still bitter lol. BTS will reunite as soon as they are all finished with their mandatory military service in 2025. And we CAN’T WAIT!!!!
