Correction on gaming test segment. Storage is 128GB
Guide from ifixit and cost: www.ifixit.com/Device/HMD_Pulse_Pro
Your %100 right . Im in the U.S. and aside from the lack of network compatibility ,the performance is very weak for the price
Another main issue I noticed were. The parts availability (July 5, 2024). I've checked ifixit for the parts, and all of them are out of stock except for one, which is the battery adhesive (5 stocks available), whats the point of repairability if part are not available. In ifixit EU, there is no issue getting the parts. I wouldn't be surprised if HMD didn't make it in the smartphone business.
@@WiseWanderTech I threw mine in the Garbage after 5 days. ($156USD)
Suppose that's why its UK price has fallen recently. Originally priced at GBP 149, it dropped to GBP 129 and now retain outlet Argos is selling this phone for GBP 119.
It's a good attempt, but consumers here in ASIA, the majority of them won't be interested in HMD smartphones. I contacted HMD and Nokia about parts availability. Nokia replied and said, "As of now, it's currently not available, and they will just pass on my feedback to their suppliers on when parts will be available. And here's the worst part.. I contacted HMD and said to me the same thing, and I was told just to look for the parts online.. I mean, I know it's available throught ifixtit, but 99% of consumers in ASIA won't be able to buy it through ifixit US or EU. Because not all can afford the shipping fees to get the parts on those said countries.
@@WiseWanderTech Thanks for the detailed reply. In theory being able to repair your phone using ifixit is beneficial. But in truth if the parts are not easily available (plus the complication of having to stock parts for different models etc) it's more trouble than it's worth.
At the moment, better consider Nokia G42 or G60 for the Snapdragon chipset
I agree..
The HMP Pulse Pro is not a flagship phone because it has a slow entry level processor which is not fast enough to run Fortnite. However, what is is good for is its two day battery life. This is poorer than the three day battery life in earlier entry level HMD Android phones such as the G22 which also had the Unisoc T606 octa-core processor. I think that this may be due to it having a slightly smaller battery. The two day battery life is due to the low power processor, the large screen hiding a large battery and the screen being a 720p LCD display. The HMD Pulse Pro only costs £99 from Argos in the UK.
That’s actually cheap considering that you can replaced some part on your own. I made a teardown video about the phone.
But here in Philippines that already a hefty price considering there’s a lot of Chinese smart phone here in Asia that cost the same and better specs.
Correction : HMD is NOT the parent company of Nokia.
HMD has a 10 year licensee agreement to use the Nokia brandname on the phones they make. And this license is ending in 2026.
Somewhat true. just recently, HMD decided to rebrand alongside Nokia. Though there was a 10-year licensing agreement, HMD has full controls in Nokia. Over the years, HMD has been purchasing a lot of patents from Nokia. So, their relationship is actually more complicated than just licensing agreement. Hence, I used the word "parent company."
@@WiseWanderTech Not really. Although HMD purchased Nokia's mobile phone patents, they did not purchase the entire company as a whole.
You forgot to talk about the awesome repair ability, i bought this phone just for that, i dont have so high need for the other, better to have a phone i can repair my self and have many many years then one that performs better but needs to be repaired in the shop when it breaks and cost much money
!
I agree. The reason behind it was that if I'll highlight the repairability, I would need to perform opening the phone, which i didn't do nor experienced doing it, so i cant really make a comment about it, and I don't have time at the moment due to time constraints. But in the future, if HMD continues their repairability program, I will perform dismantling and on how hard or easy to repair the phone by doing it on your own.
The HMD Aura has a “Pro” mode in the camera app which the Pulse Pro lacks.
Yes, you’re right. I don’t even know why they put a “Pro” in this model. It’s more suited for “Plus” because of its 50MP front camera.
This is good for nokia loyalist
whats a good alternative? I hate chineese phones, korean phones and sony is pricey, i hate my iphone where ios is so limited. I usually only use phone for viber/ telegram, youtube and apple music for transportation. I'm kinda outdated in the phone specification game. Is this a decent phone for a casual like me where I mainly use a computer/laptop?
You can go for Pixel 7a, I think it costs around 16k PhP now a days for the base model.
if 5g i have bought it.. it is cheap
It’s somewhat cheap if you’re looking at brands perspective, if specs wise, It’s a little high. They are putting repairability in the price tag since, you no longer need to pay a technician to repair the phone. you can buy parts on your own directly from ifixit or Nokia, and fixed it by yourself.
WHAT HARD ACCENT IS THIS FROM?
Kailan ka po maglive
Wala pang plan.
English Accent plng alam mo nang pinoy 😊😊
Hnd yung nagrereview.
