Joe this is only the second film from this guy I have watched. In the first film he was shooting crows at 380yrds and here he is shooting at 550yds. Now I realise the guns are different, but I thought shooting beyond 300yrds/metres was why .762X51 reappeared in Afghanistan. So .223 will carry but it loses effect, which won't matter for small creatures, but what the hell it will accurately carry 550yrds? Large distances, are you using laser rangefinders? How do you judge wind so accurately? You mentioned an 80something grain projectile whilst I've only known 77grain projectiles as the maximum mass for .223?
The way you keep the crosshair on the heart after your shot in case you need to put another round into it to prevent suffering is the mark of a humane man, something Chris Packham could never even BEGIN to comprehend.

You’re an amazing marksman! I raise cattle, so crows aren’t a threat to them, but are great pests for stealing pecans out of the trees we have. They have proven to me they are very intelligent birds. For those who don’t know, the pecans in the shell are grown on the tree within a larger hull. When the pecans start to ripen in the fall, this hull cracks and dries out, eventually splitting open along natural seems that spread open allowing the pecan shell to fall out to the ground. I remember one year we had an especially great crop of them and the crows were getting them before they fell. My grandmother insisted that we grab all we could before we lost them. When you try to open that hull before they crack open on their own, that hull is very tough and will stain your fingers brown. The stain is so durable you can’t wash it off. It has to wear off! Anyway, back to the crows. They would take these pecans in the hull and lay them out on the blacktop road. Not just anywhere, but in the “ruts” so to speak where vehicle tires would hit them! That takes more intelligence than I had ever thought they had before I saw it too many times to rule out by accident! This man has to shoot these crows at these great distances because if they spot him at normal to them threat range or hear the normal non suppressed report of a rifle, they are gone!
Crows are extremely intelligent for sure. I find them fascinating as birds, they're actually very cool. All the same, though, if they're a problem, you can't let how cool they are get in the way.

Nice to meet you John Evans your name has a familiar place in my heart therefore I officially grant myself permission to borrow money from you!
Ye thanks every one they sure are a pest here
The best overwatch anyone could ask for, truly outstanding marksmanship
Thanks Matthew.
You are a sniper of the highest order. I'm from the U.S. and hunt big game animals such as deer and elk. I can hit those animals with lethality out to the distances you are shooting, but I'm not sure I could hit a Crow or Raven with any regularity. Well done!!
Thanks a lot Jay.
Respect, amazing marksmanship and discipline. You seem to be formally trained, ex military or law enforcement perhaps?
Thank you my friend.
I would love to enjoy day after day of this. Quiet, calm and keeping the little ones safe.
Thanks pal ye when i am up there away from every one its brilliant
Thanks again Simon for the video
Thanks Mr E30 no problem at all
Hey Simon, Lovely video, just the sound of the wind, and the occasional pop. The silence gives a sense of the peacefulness of the moor and also the stillness and concentration required to achieve your remarkable level of marksmanship. re: silence: please tell me about the suppressors you use.
Thanks Craig ye i have spent my life in that environment, the silencer knocks easily 70% of the noise off and i would say 50 % of the recoil brilliant to be honest and as you have seen accuracy is still spot on my friend.
This is seriously impressive shooting. I am absolutely floored. Not sure why the algorithm sent this video my way but good to see it did. Some very fine work here, sir.
Thanks Basil ye for some reason this video has gone silly in the last week yet its an old one from last Spring.
The Sniper with his great friend 👋👋👉🇧🇷
Thanks pal
I can't believe how good of a shot he is
Thanks mate
What a Great Spotter he has, that Dog just Chilling on every shot !!! True companion, couldn't have done it without his Spotter 💪
Thanks Carlos
Saving Lambs one perfect shot at a time. Be Safe!
Thanks Bill
i literally just watched a video of what these crows do to the sheep, its totally F'd man. good work
Thanks wooley glad your on our side
Hi, Simon. I just saw your 435 shot, the longest I have seen, and now I see your 555 shot. Amazing. I really hope you can rid the moors of these lamb killers. I have now subscribed. Maybe I can learn about real marksmanship. Thanks for sharing! Stay healthy!
Thanks a lot Jon hope to hear from you again pal.
Nice to hear the curlew. It also serves as an alarm should something like a fox be in the vicinity.
Ya know David you are right there pal 100 percent, lots of animals out here tell me when things are about my lab being one of them
To stop yourself from lying in fox piss you should build yourself a small shelter like team foxer.
This was absolutely beautiful marksmanship. 👏 How are you assessing “at target” windage? (measuring “at gun” maybe?)🤔
edit: I’m guessing hundreds of people watch this and have no idea how difficult it is to achieve these shots.
Thanks pal, i use a range finder a wind meter and have spent years learning how to shoot and make the perfect bullet.
@@simon6ppc246 it’s a true demonstration of where practice can get you. Practice does indeed make perfect. 👍
I love pest control! Good for you! I have small sheep farm in New New Hampshire USA and I will protect my lambs from any predators..we have coydogs, Bobcats, bears, and hawks. Each little lamb is precious !
Thanks Blue yep its exactly the same here to.
the 3100 fps mentioned at the 4:55 minuet mark
works out to 2113 mph
The 460 yards mentioned at the 5:33 minute mark
works out to just better than a quarter mile
Cheers Gary good info.
I can't help but feel like this is an insanely inefficient method of keeping crows away.
Surely there are some dogs who would take great pleasure in chasing crows around a meadow all day.
The dogs would make the sheep and lambs run and cause Chaos my friend. I take a shot from 2 fields away no noise no fuss a dead crow the sheep hardly ever notice happy farmer.
I love crows and magpies, but you do what you need to do
Awesome marksmanship
Thanks pal i don't hate them my self just what they do to our live stock.
Learned something new today....never knew crows would peck out the eyes of baby lambs, I never would had gues that. Awesome video, thanks for the lesson!
Thanks for understanding Dizz as they really do cause damage
I wouldn’t want to piss this guy off. Lol he can take you out from 5 blocks away. Much respect! I know first hand the damage these birds can do. You are doing a good thing, F the haters. Cheers man!
Lol cheers Franky.
You are a fabulous shot and it's amazing to me to see the accuracy at such distances.
Thanks Kevin.
This kind of marksmanship absolutely blows my mind
Cheers Lock
Cracking shot- some of the most impressive marksmanship I’ve ever seen. Well done, sir- I salute you.
Thank you much appreciated my friend.
Terrific clips - the visuals is like a watching a David Lean film ! Love the woodwork on the Sako's - superb hardware.
Many thanks!
Jesus Christ that first 500 yrd plus shot was Magic you are very lucky to have your best mate with you a lucky black lab stay safe both of you keep up the great service you are doing for the farmers and the wilde life

Thanks Richie
Unbelievable!!!! I want this guy in my platoon. Wow. Do you know how hard that is to do? I am blown away. Cheers to you sir.
Thanks a lot pal lol
That was one hell of a first shot, but smooth, accurate and consistent as always.
You are one damn good marksman
Thank you Tom..👍
I came across your channel and enjoy watching the pest control.
Thanks a lot DR.
This is some truly astonishing marksmanship, Well done! That is no easy feat especially the distance and size of target! Add wind to the mix and you are above all else!
Thank you very much!
I didn't even know you could own suppressed long rifles in the UK. This is marvelous shooting!!!
Thank Andy.
Just listen to how long it takes the bullet to reach the crow. Beautiful to see such a skilled farmer protecting the lambs.
Thanks a lot Herman
Great videos, fantastic shooting and the music is “music to my ears” so relaxing, soothing and enchanting, excellent choice. 😊👍👍
Thanks a lot Brian.
Best part of the video is that you have your dog with you. That's badass!!!
Thanks William
Your spotter deserves more credit, he was doing a bang up job.
Thanks Tara he sure is.
