The best part is that dark laughter when the Bloodthirster dies, as if Khorne himself is pleased, rather than annoyed, by the epic dispatching of one of his greater daemons. It's the tiny details like that which makes Dawn of War 1 so good.
Must've been tough to time that perfectly for Thule to secure the last hit. The daemon could have easily died to a stray bolter round when he was this low on hp and still charging your lines. Brilliantly done
i want to thank you for these uploads, as it's nice to see these stories again, especially for one like me who is just shit at the campaign, and can't win some of these levels
Just play on easy and conquer the area that allows for two attacks in a row. Then it's a walk in the park - you just amass the elites and destroy every small map with them. Citadels are harder, but doable too. I finished the game with each race 4 times when I was a teenager XD
The credit is for the emperor my brother. I am just a subject of his will, grace and majesty. His light is the thing that leads us all; if anything, the follies have been mine and the greatness his
A pity that Anteas was locked at 750 hp only and the Vanguard Veterans weren't eligible for armoury upgrades; the plasma pistol/power fist would've made'em much more useful. Still, an amazing campaign and by far my favourite expansion of the original DoW. Thanks for sharing, great edit as always.
@@blacktemplar1139 mate, the assault marines of 1st company are known as vanguard veterans... in the lore they're known to have full access to their chapter's armoury and relics, so to me it was a pity, that unlike the tactical marine veterans (a.k.a 1st company veteran in game), you couldn't upgrade them with special weapons. Not sure why you even mentioned primaris here...
The canon ending. I have played as the Blood Ravens twice: the honor guard is also pretty swell and that wargear for Thule...Thanks for another awesome summary of the campaign. Man these were the good days of video games. I now want to replay them for the third time lol. I honestly never understood why Thule and Alexander came into conflict. Well, at least Dawn of War 2 sheds some light as to the true purpose behind the bloodbath of Victory Bay. Also, Eliphas being destroyed by that demon prince is seared in may brain since I first played that stronghold mission haha. I was also so creeped out as a teenager when playing the Necron stronghold mission: they are so scary... I wonder what Thule found in the ancient relics of the Blood Ravens: links to the Thousand Sons Corvidae Cult? Or a loyalist Word Bearer's writings? I guess we will never know since Thule destroyed them as he was shocked by their contents and vowed never to speak of them to anyone.
Thank you brother. Indeed, Looks like avitas had some khorn infused fun ripping through guardsmen there (nonetheless avitas is super cool), but yea dow2 basically sheds like upon many unexplainable things
Only space marines? You dissapoint me, brother! Although I like how you've shown everything you could - map info, all dialogue - that is commendable. May the Emperor guide and protect you, and I hope you'll add other race campaigns as well.
When I normally play this game I go Eldar. Over powered. I build cloak buildings at every strategic point so I can fast travel, plus I can cloak turrets near the main one. The reason why I say Eldar is Overpowered is because those Cloak buldings create a build spot near it. You can essentially make and area of the map a death trap for any NPC regardless of level. After a while the NPC stops doing anything and wait to die. Tau is by far the hardest to play against Eldar. Because the NPC Eldar plays like I do. I easily get over whelmed on some maps over others and I have to act allot faster and sometimes I have to load and old save multiple times in order to win.
That Necron catacomb makes me think of the Fourth Circle of Seduction: Supremacy (Paramountcy). (Dawn of War Soulstorm) The Dark Eldar could take the skulls of the Necrons as trophies, dipping them in gold and making them golden (the First Circle of Seduction: Avidity).
I love the intro cinematic. The Marines understand it's hopeless, but they don't "accept" defeat and never surrender and constantly seek ways toward victory. Get to high ground, failed, reinforcements are coming keep fighting, failed, all hope is lost but they will never surrender and always seek victory, so the only choice left is to suicide charge the monolith.
Wait why on earth did the space marines attack the guard instead of teaming up? If they only had 3 companies, that literally means there's only 300 of them against most of mankind's enemies? Why'd they have to make the IG one?
There is a huge spoiler here, from here to Dow2 and Dow2Chaos Rising and Dow2 Retribution . . Their chapter master ordered the purge of this world and also there is a certain marine who later in chaos rising confeses of slaughtering the guard. Mostly ties to what chapter master Azariah Kyris want and orders (Your find this out in dow2 retribution)

The beginning intro cinematic. Space Marines getting through killing some Machines they recently discovered: Wow this was Easy. Tech-Marine: You do know they can revive correct? And that this entire planet is probably covered with stasis tombs just waiting to awaken. Space Marines: Uhhh.. Inquisitor: Your morons we should have exterminatus this planet this first sign of Necrons. The only reason you fools went in there is because it's your duty which is holy. But still you're fucking idiots down there. You should have asked your tech priest before hand. Space Marines: It was the Tech-Priest who had us come down here because he wanted to study this cursed Xenos tech. Inquisitor: Mark this one for the Mechanicus all these souls and valuable resources wipes out because the Tech-Priest couldn't leave well enough alone. Now we've got the entire ancient species waking up. Emperor of Mankind: My Imperium is so fucking stupid...
I know what you mean, yes and no. This is the space marine campaign, but every campaign is more or less the same basically. In a sense that you have the same intro and you have to destroy the same strongholds with another army, also a few interaction in the game also differs.
