    I agree 100% percent with you!!! I absolutely am in love with MP3 Players!!! And I have several MP3 Players myself from over the years from Apple to Sony and in between and other gadgets that play MP3 too. I also have a smart phone a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and I stream music too. But I'm always coming back to and I just love, love, love a standalone MP3 Player!!! I don't know it's just something about those little gadgets keep me interested in them. Great review too!!! ❤😁❤😁❤😁

      yep cynthia,these mp3 players are smaller then your regular smartphone,so,more mobile,the sony NW A45 is great,you mentioned apple,not anymore for me,i had an ipod
      the thing was a dissaster,not only did you have touse itunes to put your music onto the device,it also encrypted the audio files,very annoying if something went wrong
      with the sony,the moment you plug it into your computer it shows up as an external drive,ready to drag your songs onto it,speaking of convenience and usabillity

      How is the quality of music of sony a45 compared to your note 9?..

    • @04mach1speed
      @04mach1speed  4 года назад

      Andi Alcana I imagine it would be hard to tell, I almost feel like the A45 would have slightly better sound quality due to the fact that it’s a device designed and dedicated for Audio only. Just my opinion since I don’t have the Note 9. I hope this helps

    Purchased my WMA45 last October (also have the Pioneer XDP-100R DAC player). It took a few days, but I recorded my 1,200+ CD's in the lossless format in ALAC using iTunes to record/organize/add art, etc. The Pioneer has two sdmicro slots; those will hold all of the 355gb lossless recordings (using two 200gb sdmicro cards). For the Walkman, I used one 256gb sdmicro , including only my favorite genres and albums.
    They both produce outstanding sound either with my wired Sony MDRV6 headset or my Sony MDR-1000x/b wired/Bluetooth set. The dedicated DAC players accommodate those who really care about the best portable music quality available with nearly limitless recording capacity. Advantage is not being tethered to a smartphone (have the iPhone X) with the usual interruptions while hearing extraordinary sound and your entire musical library is worth that cost to many audio appreciators. Sony's moto: "for 'and by' music lovers" says it all!
    PS: own the original Walkman cassette, but it needs new belts.

    • @04mach1speed
      @04mach1speed  5 лет назад +1

      Not gonna lie, that’s actually pretty cool. I thought about the pioneer for a while but ultimately went this the A45. I’m certainly with you on the smartphone thing for sure. Ah hah! That’s how you do it huh? I have been trying to figure out how to get all my music to HR Flac or DSD and wasn’t sure exactly how to do that. Sony definitely has some incredible devices and I just hope their are a lot of people like you and me so companies will continue to make these things :)
      I can’t believe you have an Original Walkman! Bad ass man. Thanks again for the comment. I just pinned someone a second ago before reading your comment. I’ll wait a while and pin you. 😎 so just one question so I’ll know for sure, what would be the best way to convert my MP3 files to High res, if you even can? Thanks again :)

    i cannot do without an mp3 player, and i am glad that sony still makes the most reliable mp3 players. i only wish they made ones with rechargeable batteries that can easily be changed like the older models.

    • @04mach1speed
      @04mach1speed  3 года назад

      i actually couldnt agree more. good thing is that I dont think sony will ever stop making these, my theory. Only because too many people love high quality 320kb-1411kb high res audio, and that is something you may not ever see in streaming because high res audio takes an incredible amount of space and data. I do agree also, Sony makes the best :)

    I had this model for a year (I still have it saved) and it served me well while I used it throughout that year, I ended up buying a Sony NW-ZX300A (This model is the Chinese market where it has the same configurations as the Japanese model and International only with 16GB of internal memory) used by a friend for 200 dollars (He bought for 350 dollars a while ago) I the ZX300 was a nice upgrade of the A45.

    It is worth the upgrade, the DSEE HX is a very nice technology (audio upscaling = makes mp3 files sound closer to FLAC/DSD). Some Sony phones and wireless headphones also do DSEE HX and for those of you who despise Sony, you may get the Music Center for PC (W7/10) for free which will allow you to experience the DSEE HX on your PC. Oh, and you need hi-res headphones. Even then the difference (DSEE HX ON or OFF) is very subtle. Just like the difference between FLAC/DSD and 320kbps MP3 files.

    Hi! Apologies for the q, I've been slowly climbing up the steps of musicness and have come to the point of if I should purchase an MP3 player or not. I have a CD collection currently and as much as I love carrying it around (my CD player) I've been PARANOID lately about bringing it around cause it's so fragile. So I've been on the fence of either getting an NW-A45/B or NW-A55/B and have been doing research on them two. I know the A55/B is the newest one of the two and all, but the A45/B is like the for sure best of time player (if that makes sense?). Again apologies about the long comment, any response is great!

Import your library to the program, select an album, click 'Properties', go to 'Cover art' tab, then click on 'Convert cover art'. You can then transfer your music with the guarantee of a displayable cover art.

    Nice review, I bought one of the Midnight Blue colored ones a couple months back, the sound is good. Hi Res sounds good on here as well. I'm actually using a 1TB SanDisk micro SD card in the player, works great, just takes a minute to create a database. Sadly the card is full, but I've got 2400 albums on the player. Everything is either 16/44 FLAC CD rips or Hi Res, so I assume you could fit a ton of mp3 files on a 1TB card.
    And you're right, a headphone amp is a must. I'm using an old FiiO amp, may upgrade. The player is very sleek, you can see the quality in it. Happy listening~

    • @04mach1speed
      @04mach1speed  4 года назад +1

      The NWa45 can handle a 1TB? Wow that’s pretty cool, I honestly figured it could only be capable with 128gb SD. I’m so glad to see someone else that loves digital non streamed music like myself :)
      1TB of MP3s would be astronomical indeed.
      Yeah Fiio does make some really good Headphone amps for sure. Mine is so old I need to upgrade as well. Thanks for the input by the way

    Hi, friend ! The truth is that you did convince me that it is an excellent audio player, what I wanted to ask you is if it is still worth it in 2021 and if you have tried it with demanding hearing aids if that is how it has behaved? The other thing is that I plan to use it only with low-demand headphones type fiio fa1, fh3, kz, urbanfun, and all those types of not so demanding ears ... do you think it will go well? sorry it took so long, too many comments. yeah this thing is still incredible as of today. but if youre gonna get one i would get the newer A50-A55, updated version, unless you found the A40-45 for around $150, then thats a steal since i paid around 220. but so far ive seen the best reviews from the A105 which just came out not long ago, its got WIFI and the 40s and 50s dont have that ability. as far as hearing aids, i was told by a friends with hearing aids that they usually work very well with aids. would small headphones fit okay with hearing aids? i would assume large headphones that cover the ear would be more comfortable and usually work better with hearing aids. I know theyre big but theyre very comfortable these days. i hope everything goes well for you :)

    It's very good with earphones, earbuds and bluetooth headphones. But don't use it with over-ear cabled headphones because the output impedance is so low that it won't works. It doesn't have any amplifying capability. It has been designed for earphones with 16 ohm and it sounds brilliant with it. But if you want a HiRes stuff with proper, loud sound than pay a bit more and try to find something else.

I had to buy a new headphone amplifier because the one I have now worked great for the Sony headphones in the video but I got new JBL Live500bt’s and my amp no longer works for them because the drivers in the headphones are 20mm larger than the Sony’s I had so the amp doesn’t have enough power. I couldn’t agree with you more about the battery thing. When the battery is shot and the player is still in perfect working order it just seems senseless to thrown it away. And I imagine that happens a lot. That’s how my Sony MD player is. It takes a AA battery and still works perfectly. It’s not metal but it’s 15 years old. I really wish they would bring back the aa and aaa powered music players. Plastic is just all around a horrible near useless thing. That’s so cool that you have an original Walkman. Hell, it’s probably worth money 😉

      i agree with you also, i think its because the price of the battery is more than the gadget your buying,a decent phone battery is £20-£30 and i have a vape,and the battery cost £25 and the vape was £10,it must cost pennies to make a music player en-mass,so the battery bumps up the price,they dont care.

      Sorry for the late response. Actually I learned years ago that aux and hardwire is much better sound quality than Bluetooth. Bluetooth is simply for convenience. It’s the same concept as WiFi vs Ethernet cable. You get much better performance with direct connect. I think all the major video game streamers use Ethernet cable instead of WiFi. So to answer your question yeah using a Hifi player with Auxiliary is a good choice. It’s what I do at home actually. :D hope this helps :)

I separate podcasts by using the Genre tag, making the genre for current podcasts as "Podcasts" and for archived podcasts as "DAP" (short for "Downloaded Audio Programs"). I hope this helps.

    Honestly I do want to get me one of those Walkmans, but I'm also a bit disappointed. Not only is it mostly touchscreen, which is a drawback. But it also doesn't have most other options like the older models do. I miss playing VPTs(Matrix/Arena) surround sounds on my old Sony A17 player. Ever since it broke, I was very bummed out and needed to get a replacement.
    I have an FiiO X3-II and it does as the player says it does. Too bad it doesn't have bluetooth though, or VPT options like Sony. That being said, it's a really good player even when my songs are FLAC format.

      One issue might be the way the album art images are stored. My experience has been that with Walkman players the album art must be stored in the ID3 tag as a .jpg file designated as "Front Cover" for it to be displayed reliably. This works whether it is an MP3 file or a FLAC file (I use both on my player). Also, I make sure the album art is not too large, making sure it is no larger that 600 pixels by 600 pixels.
      As an example, I tried Windows Media Player with my Walkman but had issues with album art. I soon discovered that it stored the art in the album's folder rather than in the ID3 tag and that may have been the reason I had issue with it. I moved to MediaMonkey and had it store the album art in each track's ID3 tag. While that might increase the size of each track slightly it displays reliably.

      EAC or exact audio copy is the standard. and your rips will have gapless playback as long as the player supports it. it may look intimidating at first but once you get the hang of it it's super easy. Plenty of guides on the web. I would suggest coverting to flac it's the best of both worlds smaller files than wav but still lossless. (bigger files than mp3, but F*** mp3) need any help just hit me back.
      edit: when loading the software it will want to automatically try to find your drive offset. let it do this. it helps keep everything perfect.

    • @Solitaire001
      @Solitaire001 5 лет назад

      I use MediaMonkey with my NW-A45 and it will load playlists on your player. As far as playlists based on mood goes, it is fairly each to create them with MediaMonkey as autoplaylists (MediaMonkey will automatically create a playlist based on criteria you choose, like iTunes Smart Playlists). All it takes is: (1) tag the mood for your songs, and (2) create an autoplaylist of songs based on mood (such as all of your sad songs).
      The Walkman does have two limitations when it comes to playlists: (1) The maximum number of tracks a playlist can contain is 999, and (2) a playlist can only contain files in one location, all the files in the Playlist must be in the Internal Memory or on the Memory Card and you can't mix files files from both locations in a single playlist.
      Unfortunately, although I liked Media Go it is no longer supported by Sony, who has dropped it in favor of Music Center For PC. I've tried using Music Center For PC, but didn't care for it. Media Go was much better (it handled music, podcasts, pictures, and videos, while Music Center For PC only handles music).

    I always love Sony products, especially their stand-alone MP3 players. However, one thing that really annoys me is that they can’t show “album titles” under “Genre”. I have to go under Folders to view all albums. Another thing: the player always scans the whole music data after I boot up the device. Why do they do that?

    • @04mach1speed
      @04mach1speed  4 года назад

      I actually noticed that as well. I have no idea because my older Sony MP3 player just a couple generations behind this didn’t do this at all. My old one from off would boot up within a matter of seconds and this one takes nearly 30 seconds. They were both 16g flash memory so I would assume it take the same amount of time. I definitely hear what you’re saying.

      That’s so weird how the M9 looks a lot like the A45. That’s a very good question because I don’t actually have a fiio M9 but I can tell you that Fiio makes some incredible music players, so my guess would come mostly down the preference. I personally love song as a company more. But I can promise you that Fiio would have been my second best. I would honestly go with which one is more appealing to you because they both seem to have a lot going. I’m sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.

      Yes you should be able to no problem as long as it’s a micro SD. Plus the new Sony NWA105 actually runs on Android
