I remember when this first came out, and I saw it and went, "That sounds like a great idea!" And when I finally played it, I was right! This has to be one of my favorite games on the DS. I really hope it sees a comeback sometime, either as an NSO version, a remake, or even a full-on sequel!

This is the very first video game I bought with my own money in 6th grade. I remember I bought it without the DS in hand and I remember playing the game when I was friends with a girl on my schoolbus and I would play for a good 15 minutes on my way home. I remember when my parents surprised me with it they got me a white when I really wanted coral pink or ice blue (which btw are my fave color combinations because of the DS) I treated my DS lite as if it was my life. I took great care of it. I learned out to call Nintendo custimer support (for a 13 year old lol). This game will always hold a special place in my heart. I love the game colors and the levels. My favorite being the Glacier place, the woods, the beach. EVERYWHERE!
I wish they could make more Super Princess Peach games, we have TONS of Mario games, a few Luigi ones and just ONE Super Princess Peach ... i mean, this character is worth so much more than just being a lost princess to save at the end of the game.

It honestly breaks my heart to see people call Nintendo out for “lazily” commissioning TOSE to develop Super Princess Peach for them instead of doing it themselves, and that not only they are responsible for a lot of “crappy” games and don’t even give them credit for it, but also if one saw their favorite video game companies “cutting more and more corners,” odds are they’ve solicited with TOSE at some point. Now first off, SPP was _far_ from Nintendo’s first time working with TOSE; Yoshi’s Cookie was in fact one of the earliest instances of TOSE working in tandem with Nintendo, and keep in mind: this was in the early ‘90s, shortly after Super Mario World came out and more importantly when the NES still had a sliver of relevance-so theoretically, they could’ve already started going off the rails by that point, which was obviously not the case in that era of Nintendo’s lifespan. Second, the most important aspect of a video game isn’t about the gameplay and certainly not the grind, as people tend to assume nowadays. It’s about the overall fun factor-and this includes everything from gameplay to graphics from music to story. If a Super Mario game has presumably excellent gameplay, graphics and music, but the story is terrible and the ending is the exact opposite of gratifying (A.K.A. Peach was never interested in Mario to begin with despite all our childhood wishes), then the game is still not fun; without one aspect, the other means nothing. Of course, it could all just be one person’s opinion (like myself, in the case of Super Mario Odyssey here), and literally everybody else in the world would disagree, but the point remains regardless of it all: it only takes *one.* Meanwhile, SPP could rightfully be considered vastly inferior in terms of gameplay, but all this is completely negated by the story and its plot, particularly regarding TOSE’s attention to the original lore of Super Mario and in particular even down to the individual details behind the original NES Super Mario Brothers game. This is not something you see from modern Nintendo, and that’s automatic props to TOSE right there. It gets you immersed, so it’s fun; and that’s all that matters.
As a kid, I wanted this game for my DS so badly, but my Mom couldn't buy it for me because it was too expensive. And Mario games never go on sale, so I just never played it. I don't think my DS would be in good enough shape for it nowadays either. Oh well, maybe some day I'll fulfill that childhood dream.
If you guys want this game to have a chance to be remastered for the Switch or next gen Nintendo system, you have to buy and support Princess Peach Showtime. That’s how they gauge metrics for interest before they invest themselves in developing the game.
