Why was drilling suddenly happening here? Some people have unearthed the following information, namely: a new hot spring retreat was to be built nearby, and a 1,300-meter-deep hot spring well needed to be drilled.
Will they be able to have their own homes again? After the frightening night, these nearly 3,000 residents will face a very uncertain and confusing future.

Once they are identified, the CCP will come in the middle of the night and take them away to be locked up and have their organs harvested. BUT !!!! Denmark are currently building so called super hospitals, and one of them, well very delayed, 1 billion over budget, and really what is standing now ( most of it ) they might as well tear down and start all over.
Aside for the water coming into and out of the walls, many KM of water pipes in the hospital also need replacing,,,,,, as usual when the Danish government build it is a joke.

The typical Chinese "expert group" will find the problem due to natural causes and NOT geothermal drilling and NOT the illegal building construction next door. One would assume the CCP would have ensured buildings and infrastructure would be built competently. Maybe it boils down to hubris and corruption. It seems from the video there there is both subsidence and uplift occurring. There was mention of a clay layer being drilled through by the "geothermal drilling" project next door. You have to be very careful when drilling to not create a conduit where liquids and gases can move between different geologic layers. If the drilling has created a conduit between an aquifer and a clay layer, water will move from the aquifer into the clay layer. The clay layer will soak up water like a sponge and can expand to multiple times its previous thickness. The aquifer layer, with pressure released, will compact. These will not proceed in a synchronized, orderly, uniform, or constant manner with regards to each other, leading to the non-uniformity of what is happening at the surface. The only way to stop the process is to plug the conduit along its entire depth, but this will not immediately stop the effects propogating up to the surface. The two affected geologic layers will take years if not decades to fully stabilize so surface changes will decrease but may not completely stop for that time. In addition, if there is now a hydrated clay layer, that presents an indefinite time period risk of greater damage to structures on the surface if the area were hit by an earthquake.

    german here.
dunno how the bureaucracy in china is structured, but any sane nation has laws to check for ground conditions, before approving development projects like these.
I can tell you why they send in some thugs in uniforms to shut up the complaints: these buildings were build on ground unable to support the weight by the buildings they've put on top, and before construction even started, some official singed permits to build there anyways, either by disregarding expert analysis, or by having skipped calling for any to beginn with. Bribes were almost certainly involved. This looks really fucking bad for the local (probably whole) government, and instead of admitting fault and firing the official responsible for that fuckup, while offering aid, shelter and compensation for those affected by their incompetence, china does what china always does, and stomps on necks until no complaints come forth anymore.
