Yeah. My dad died in 1987. He wasn't really an Astros fan but he shared the 86 heartbreak with me. Mainly it isn't enough just to be there. The Astros lost that 2005 series in 4 but they didn't embarrass themselves. 1980 & 1998 hurt the most. 2004 would have been magical. 2017 restored my faith.

I’ve been an Astros fan ever since I was born. I consciously remember rooting for them around 2003, when I was around 3-4 years old. I remember the Chris Burke walkoff HR in the 18th, and I remember going to the games when I was a little kid. I remember when Jose Valverde was my favorite player from the 2008 season. I went to so many games during the dark ages (2010-2014) - it was painful to be an Astros friend. 2015 was optimistic, but ended with heartbreak, and 2016 the like. But 2017 - this was truly a season to remember. I was displaced by Harvey and lost nearly everything. When I lived in a temporary apartment - I surrounded myself with the astros. They took my mind off of the suffering and gave me so many memories to treasure. I remember watching them win Game 6 and 7 of the ALCS, and screaming with joy when we advanced to the World Series. I was absolutely stressed during Game 2, had 8 breakdowns during Game 5. But the jubilation I felt once we wom Game 7 of the WS - truly indescribable. This team was special, from top to bottom. You could just feel how special this team was from the get go. They were truly a group of best friends doing what they love. Watching this brings back so many great memories. I will always be proud to be an Astros fan, and I will always remember this incredible season. History was indeed earned.
