You're so very thoughtful regarding health impairment, very useful to experience what you see like that. Gorgeous book, I thought I won't buy anymore but this one is special!
Thank you so much, I'm glad I could help. It is probably the prettiest book that I own with all that colored paper but I do wish the binding was a bit looser. I'm going to see if hubby can crack it for me, otherwise I'll have to snip a stitch to see if that loosens it up more. Happy coloring x
Thank you for your review. What an adorable book. I just love Cicely Mary Barker's fairies. Quintessential little imps in my mind. I like the colored pages that are included as a guide for color selection and shading etc... Hope all is well with you. Peace :)
I have just purchased this book. Eagerly awaiting it's arrival. Hoping they have fixed the stiff spine issue but will fix myself if not. Love your reviews Lea from a fellow Sydneysider. 😍
I wonder what's with the really stiff bindings on a few Japanese and Korean books lately? I mean not every book is going to have a Fabulous one like Mysterious Library? But still usually their really good. Well the book is Gorgeous and my eyes hate it. lol! But I really like how they did the color pics. It's not directly across. it's on the previous page so you can have it all: Colored Pictures, Inspiration and Enjoyment of the Coloring process. Because for me when the Artist original work is staring me in the face while I'm trying to color (like what they do with the Posh Thomas Kinkade books) I think it takes some of the fun out of it unless your an artist yourself and this is achievement nu. 49 6:24 Colored pictures AND Goodies in the back?!? :D Nice! A really Beautiful Book. Thanks for the Great Review!
It is a gorgeous book! There's several books online of her colored fairies they really are adorable but now I've seen it colored that way ...it's hard for me to "unsee" it lol. Not being very good at choosing colors ..I'd probably end up coloring mine in the same palette. I don't know whether I'm getting weak but some of these bindings lately are really making me flex my little muscles lol! Happy coloring x
I know! And it feels wrong to try and color it another color! Of course I was never the kid that colored the sky green. It was always Blue...... because skies are blue. hahahaha :D
It's a gorgeous book! I was at a school fete a few weeks ago and seen a gorgeous book on flower fairies ..and of course it was by the same artist. It's now home with me! Flower fairies are the best! Happy coloring x
Thank you so much for this video. I’m about to start making my own colouring book but just doing some research first so this was super helpful, for example I was considering whether to do the linework a little bit grey but you made me realise it might be inaccessible for those with a sight impairment. When my book is done it would be an absolute honour if you were to review it. This is my first venture into this so forgive me if it’s crass to ask, but do authors send you books to review or do they pay you to do it, or do you just choose which ones to review? Thanks again! Edit: sorry, in my haste to ask you I had not tried to find the answer myself. Found the answer on your About page. I can’t wait to publish my book and submit it to you to review!
Congratulations on getting started with your first coloring book. Before you dive in, I would join a few coloring groups on Facebook and show the style of your art (protecting the work) to get an idea of what the market wants. Styles change and coloring for adults has changed since it really became popular about 5 years ago. The book that you looked at on this channel is based on artwork that was well known in its time from children's books etc. I would also have a look and see what price point your market is prepared to pay as that will help you decide on publishing options - digital/POD/self published etc. Good luck! Happy creating x
Such beautiful artwork! It's a shame they didn't add more variation of skin tones. I would have loved to see how they highlight richer skin tones. Still love it though. - Faith
I think that's probably a reflection of the artistic style in the period that she was alive for fairies ..all very wispy and delicate looking. happy coloring x
That wouldn't surprise me at all. There is something very traditional and realistic about the fairies in the book and that could be it. I love all the names of the fairies, wish I could read all that text though! Happy coloring x
that is so beautiful!!! I love how they've kept her style here. I see these books being made using her illustrations against the most awful colours and vector shapes...it's a sin - what's up with that. One thing that could have been nicer is if they had drawn the frame in each spread differently. It feels reused. Otherwise beautiful book
It is gorgeous! I guess they were keeping with the authentic look and theme for the flow of this book but I can't say for sure. I've also seen the illustrations being reused as you mentioned --- some are pretty awful but there are some cute ones as well. I wish the colored pages were removable because I'd love to use them somehow without losing too much illustration :) . Happy coloring x
It's a Gorgeous Book Lea, just for me lol! i love the colored pictures they are Amazing and i found them very Helpfull to choose my colors palette, anyway i have to go buy this Fantastic Book so thank you so much for this great, great review xx
