    Great review, I appreciated the clear camera shot of the scope down range and transitioning between targets. That in particular was one thing I have been looking for before purchasing

    Thank you for this review! Confirms what I have been contemplating for my 6.5 Grendel build and my 6.5 Creedmoore! Looking for a great bombproof optic for both that I won’t be able to drake. As a Marine I brake everything I put my hands on. Low enough for short range and high enough for medium to long range. Just subbed. Keep up the Great work!!

    I have a 7-35 ATACR and March 3-24x52. I wished for the day they conceived a scope that had the best of both worlds, and then NightForce made that crazy wish a reality when I got the 4-32! Thank you NF ;-)

    Excellent review. I’m glad to hear the parallax isn’t hyper sensitive and that the eye box is forgiving. I’m waiting for the mill xt reticle. Very happy about the capped windage. Just wish it had a zero lock. But the zero stop should be enough.

    These scopes ARE WORLD CLASS. I have the Kahles, mulitple Atacrs and the new NX8's. For the size and money there is no better optics on the market right now than the NX8. They are absolutely FANTASTIC. BUY BUY BUY

    • @speedloads2469

      Couldn't agree with you more STT Voyager, Nightforce out did themselves on the NX8's.

    • @KevinWood44
      @KevinWood44 Год назад +1

      I think the Athlon Cronus is a better scope in terms of glass and reticle over the NX8 but the size of the NX8 makes it a "go to" for many applications. NF gets a lil too much hype these days due to the popularoty in the PRS community.
      The thing that makes NF so popular is they are built to last forever and then some. They do NOT have the best glass, turrets or reticles (I suppose reticles if preference but still) but they are built to last. EVERY tier 1A scope has better glass than NF (TT, Zco, Zeiss, Leica, S&B, Minox, March, Steiner and Kahles) it is on par with the Toric, Maven, Cronus, Razor, etc.
      I agree the ATACR and NX8 are great scopes but is the NX8 THE best scope in it's class?? I personally do not think so. I certainly do not blame you for choosing them, just a difference of opinons. I will say your NF will outlast my Cronus and probably my marriage lol

    I's like an NX8 2.5 - 20 x 50 for my 6.5 PRC Browning X-Bolt Pro with a Mil XT reticle AND illumination. Since I compete with anH59 reticle I know how to utilize the Mil TX reticle for hunting.
    Currently I have a 14" long Bushnell LRTS 4.5 - 18 x 44 scope with an illuminated G3 reticle on that rifle. Not bad for the money and the best illuminated reticle I've ever seen. It's 2" longer than the NX8 2.5 - 20 x 50 but may have a bit less critical focusing.

    Nice review. The 2.5-20x is going on my .270Rem backwoods bolt gun. I wish NF offered a 2-10x42 F1 or similar, under 20oz, set up specifically for hunting with a variation of the MOAR ret that included a game-based (elk, deer, coyote) range estimation scale. I think they'd have a winner with the pure hunters who aren't shooting target/tactical comp with the same rig.

    Did you see a noticeable difference in image quality between the 2? Being longer, the 4-32 should less suffer than the 2.5-20 from an optical stand point. Am I right?
    Both of these should fit my needs… Just trying to pick the best option… Thanks for your review!

    A couple of points :
    1. They focus down to 11 yards not meters.
    2. No one can get hold of these yet because Nightforce are dragging their heals making them. In the UK they are not even available yet. I have spoken to Nightforce through email and they just repeat the same old statement that they are struggling to meet demand.

    I was close to purchasing the 2.5-20 but on lower magnification the reticle is really hard to see and the illumination isn’t bright enough to help

    Great video! Always appreciated. The NX8 is an exciting line of optics and I believe the 2.5-20 is going to fill the nitch for a new build coming up, hopefully soon.
    Is tunneling about normal compared to some of the other top end optics? I run an stave f1 5-25 that I really like.

    Good technical points that scope buyers should be aware of before the purchase.
    These NX8 scopes do have illuminated reticles which compensate well for lack of contrast between unlighted reticle and background. I'm a believer in illuminated reticles for hunting.
    QUESTION: Does the NX8 line Really have "tradeoff in image quality."??
    -> I thought image quality in shorter scopes can be maintained by adding lenses to bend the light more, as is required by the shorter light path. Ne pas?
    ->I'd like to replace my Bushnell LRTS 4.5 - 18 x 44 (G3 reticle) with the NX8 2.5 - 20 x 50 on my new 6.5 PRC Browning X-Bolt Pro hunting rifle for western hunting here in Nevada. And yes, I'd use Nighforce's Xmas tree reticle for hunting B/C I'm so used to the H59 reticle in my Bushnell ERS 3.5 - 21 x 50 competition scope.
    I hold much more than dial and for hunting it's usually the best way to go.

      I was wondering the same for my 20” 6.5 Grendel and I think it will fill my needs just fine as well a second for my 6.5 Creedmoore build. Plenty magnification for distance and low enough for close in. Been looking for this type of scope and I think this fills my needs for both! Great review thank you!! @speedloads!

      Size wise it’s perfect. And capability wise it has what you need. As a general rule it’s better to buy a scope that has more magnification rather than not enough. And don’t buy cheap optics. Buy once, cry once. If most of your shooting is for recreational purposes or LE, go with that scope but in second focal plane. That way if your using it on a lower power in a low light setting you’ll be able to find the reticle.

    • @jordanr8312
      @jordanr8312 4 года назад +2

      I recently purchased the 2.5-20x50 NX8. I did not notice any edge to edge distortion on my scope, but that comes with one caveat that this is my first Nightforce scope. I'm normally a higher-end Leupold/Vortex Razor consumer. If you are someone who is into the highest tiered glass (S&B, Leica) then you opinion may differ. All in all, I'm quite pleased. Will suit my long range plinking and hunting needs. If you get one hope you enjoy it as well.
