Enjoyed seeing your vacation time with your Mom & sister! ❤I'm sill trying to get my Mom to come & visit my garden from Canada but she doesn't want to leave my Dad, they're both 89! I have the same issue with the creeping vine weed, I have to pull them everyday and use my Japanese knife to get the roots out around my new rose bed & Quick Fire Fab hydrangeas. My zinnias & snapdragons are still going well! I will definitely continue those next year in the cut flower garden. I've already bought my seeds from Johnny's for next year, took advantage of their free shipping a couple weeks ago for $50 orders. Happy growing Crane! 💚

Aw. I wanted to see the mom's whole backyard! I have a pool, too, and Im always looking for how people decorate with pots of plants and flowers around their pool. Maybe next time we can get a fuller view from a distance farther away? What I could see looked very beautiful!

You really load up your bouquets! Your local customers are very lucky to have access to such lush arrangements that are arranged so beautifully using top quality flowers. My floret zinnias are still producing, a little smaller and some powdery mildew (expected this time of year); however I did later sow Benary's Giant - which are now thriving! There are a lot of great zinnias out there, but I always go back to Benary's. Bindweed creeps into all of my beds, I cut the vine from the plant and try to dig up the root at the base which helps, however I have a much smaller garden than the two of you, so probably more manageable for me.

I meant to tell you, We have a dog named Finn (pronounced just like your stray kitty Feen). I've never heard of anyone else using that name for their fur baby. We have a dog named Huck, short for Huckleberry, and we have Soyer, so naturally, we had to have a Finn too 😀 anyways, all that to say, Great minds think alike 😉 (and we both sell cut flowers ❤)

I live in an area where Bindweed covers trees. It’s SO bad. But I have found a solution!!
I have almost eradicated it from my large garden and the ONLY way to do this is to cover as much bare soil as you can with cardboard and then mulch...you may have luck with just a LOT of mulch too.
Bindweed needs light, and it will find the tiniest spot where light comes through, and then it grows. You need to dig down where the root is and pull from there.
If you just take off the top (it really likes that), then it will do what many plants do...send off site shoots!
I know it's a pain bit what I have done this summer really has made a huge difference ❤

Bindweed!! Aaahhhh! I’m having a terrible time with it in one of my flowerbeds. I was thinking that I might just move everything out of that bed for a season or two and choke it out with landscape fabric!
