Thanks for these. I never thought I'd live to see the day where mastering engineers, record store owners, and folks sitting around talking about music, especially jazz, are rock gods.
Everything is awesome :)
You are so correct. I never thought that I would see the day, either. It's a good time to love vinyl.
Good stuff all of you. Two quick observations:
1. Mike Esposito has done fantastically well riding the vinyl wave out of the pandemic (it's a great story) but that he has built his business and brand during this time with unwavering transparency, fairness and integrity is an absolute credit to him. The vinyl community at large will continue to benefit from the standard he's set as the market in which we buy records evolves.
2. The three bums do an exceptional job here of giving their interviewee time and space to talk. Too often vc interviewers come across as overly eager to have their own voices heard. Avoiding this takes skill, patience, and a genuine interest in the subject. It's really well done, especially in that there are three of you doing it. Simultaneously giving the interviewee and eachother space in a way that comes across as relaxed and organic is impressive.
Well done!
Thanks Loki, means a lot coming from you, that’s we wanted to bring
Completely agree! Well done.
It's great to hear more about Mike's background. I have visited his store a lot and have bought some of the best records in my collection from there.
This was great. Digging deeper into Mike vinyl life I love hearing about the biz today and compare to what I remember. Nice collaboration. I ordered my dark blue Bums shirt ✌🏻
Great video gents, Mike without a doubt has one of the best shops and collections going ✊🏼
This was great to watch! We need a part 2
Thanks, there will certainly be a second one, Angelo!
Great interview. Discovered the In Groove RUclipschannel at the beginning of the pandemic. Nice to see him doing the interview with you! Keep up the good work!!!
great to hear honest reality!---no BS Mike--he's the best--JG
This was epic … always a great listen with Mike. Thanks Jazz Bums for bringing this to the community
Thanks!! That was the goal, happy that you liked it
Perfect Mike In groove Interview
Really appreciate Mike E. He was the first RUclips source I listened to when I was getting into vinyl and Jazz during the pandemic. (He and the other Mike. Michael Ludwig - 45 RPM Audiophile. ) Great interview you guys! Learned a lot about him and the record selling thang!
Great video guys enjoyed that.
Means a lot coming from you, sir! Thanks
thanks for the conversation! I love hearing about the business aspect from Mike. Thanks to mike for starting the DHL international shipping too!
That was super-fun, the whole hour and half was great. I really liked that Mike picked some records for show and tell about their stories. Mike is such a good dude, the VC is lucky he found his passion.
Not sure how i missed this, great interview guys! Watching Mike's videos helped me get through the pandemic and gave me the jazz bug.
Great video gentlemen. As an Australian, Mike has been a God send. He really has managed to get the whole cost of freight really sorted and his team are amazing with quick responses to enquiries. For anyone outside the US, I cannot recommend his business highly enough.
Great job Jazz Bums i definitely dig Mike from the In Groove killer story and the journey of a record store owner and Collection he’s bought and his amazing collection thanks guys loved it.
Thanks!
😂Mike looking like art blakey in the thumbnail is cool ! you guys do a great job on this channel and the details you put into the channel 👏
Thanks Dustin!
This was a fun interview, subbed up! I had a few nice jazz pieces I collected in the 90s, had kids, & now 18 yrs later back and have largely been reliant upon Mike to continue the jazz journey. Looking forward to learning from this channel as well. 😁🧐
Thanks! Appreciate the feedback, and music is always #1 here. Please check our past videos and interviews, and the Friday live streams at 8pm eastern. F
good evening for a first interview your in ite s comes out wonderfully.
Thanks for another great interview guys. Met Mike at the Austin record Show, bought many of his records and found the condition & pricing excellent. He has great insight & stories and I appreciate you guys being spot on with the questions and allowing him the room to fully share them.
First! 😂 Digging the new intro + logo update, fellas.
Another great video, Jazz Bums (and Mike E).
Very informative, interesting - and in a pleasant atmosphere.
Thanks 👍
Glad you enjoyed, it was cool chat indeed
I have all of Alice Coltranes' Lps on vinyl. My favorites are The Ptah The El Daoud, A Monastic Trio and Lord Of Lords.
I haven’t dropped off, if anything I’ve been buying more limited boxes, plus I’m still entrenched in the fomo belief. I think it’s just takes me years to catch up to where everyone else is. I like Mike, he gets some bad press but I admire his take on the marketplace and his knowledge of pressings. Great interview, thank you!
Thanks for the great input!
This was such a great conversation! I learned so much about Mike, his business and his process that I’d always been interested in knowing. I own his Wild Thymes release and it’s absolutely top notch, sounds incredible. I hope he takes on a project like that again in the future, maybe even making his own small “The In Groove” label.
Nice one. We need a tour of Mike's collection for the next one
That's a really good idea, I'd love to see some of his rare copies
Great interview, guys. Mike is an entertaining dude. I totally get the love and hype for Kevin G, but that first release is idk, kinda 🤷🏻♂️
Great content just subscribed
Great conversation. Thx guys!
Thanks, appreciate it!
Growing up in Detroit we would go to coin show and a few would LPS. Grandapa would buy them and many where blue notes.
Nice chat with Espo. Cool to see that George Harrison autographed promo dedicated to George Benson.😲
Nice video guys! Mike is cool
Sweet vid, bruh!
Great talk
Thanks, appreciate the feedback

Audiophile is so expensive for stores ... my friends store stocks them but you can pay £2k on an order and its only a small box of records , lots of them sit there for months
Very interesting and informative. One recommendation: Chris, I can only understand about 50% of what you say, try speaking slower and articulating. Thanks guys.
He really name is Mike EPSTEIN.
Claxton took the photo of Sonny in the Mojave Desert.
Folks lambast collectors like Mike who gravitate towards mainstream -popular sounds, but if you run a generic record store and can't tolerate listening to Led Zeppelin, Elvis, Steely Dan, ......each day is going to be deeply depressing.
I still wanna know how much he paid for that GB collection i bet pennies
The best way to make your wife like or appreciate jazz is to listen to the gnarliest, nastiest, abrasive grindcore or death metal you can find, on a daily basis... when she gets absolutely enraged with what she's hearing put on some jazz... she will change her mind about it, guaranteed...
🤣
