You’ve made me laugh. Its a chilly 27 degrees here today and it’s the last half of winter (Australia) 😂😂 But i’ll happily take an icecream when its a 40 degree day and i’m suited up 😉👍
How do you cope ? I'm ginger so my natural habitat is in the shade 😂 Do you inspect at certain times of day or use any cooling aids ? or just simply crack on ?
I have one of these double fans that you wear around your neck charge it up on a USB on a low to medium setting will run for hours blows cool air up round your face with just fits inside your suit also put a bottle of water or pop in the freezer freeze it solid and then take that with you and it will keep melting to give you a cold drink for hours yeah beekeeping is like living in a sauna.
@@SimplyBeeutifulHoney been using my neck fan for three years I’m surprised it still works but it’s perfect. I have to use one because I wear glasses my glasses? Just steam up and I can’t see a thing. The fans keeps my glasses. Clear my face cool.👍.
@@seacarrot We brought the bees and honey back up north yesterday but as yet the honey supers are still sat in the warming room. I hope to get them extracted after Southport.
Can you please let me know what suits you use. I have a Simon the beekeeper defender suit, which I've had since last April 2023 and I'm starting to take stings through it which is not nice. Trying to find a reliable replacement. Thank you x
@@sadiehawkins2294 Hi Sadie. Vicky’s suit is actually also a defender but mine is a one off a local manufacturer made for me but I believe Gruff has very similar ones on his website. gwenyngruffydd.co.uk/collections/bee-suits/products/vented-apix-air-beekeeping-suit-by-thomas-apiculture

Great videos xx
I bought a tennis baseball cap that is designed to be soaked in water before its worn. By the time I finish the bees it is dry, and my head is cooler.
Great video as usual.. Thankyou.
That point when you're not sure whether you are going to pass out over the hive😂❤

It's a shame as its quite a good idea in principle but just cant be policed.
You're spot on though regarding price of entry.
Can u tell me how to make mesh ventilated roof, thank you .
I'll be doing a "how to" video on them at some point 😁
Stu, what do u call and where do you get the insulation you use as a crown board? Cheers
Hi ya, Its just bubble insulation, Its usually used in loft conversions etc.
I just order mine from eBay in large rolls and cut it to size.
Cheers Stu, well played
