Helen Palmer is the author of two best sellers, The Enneagram: Understanding Yourself and the Others in Your Life and The Enneagram in Love and Work: Understanding Your Intimate and Business Relationships - currently translated in 28 languages. In this interview Helen talks about the Enneagram and its importance in our personal and spiritual evolution. She describes how it could impact our relationships in the development of real understanding of our deep-rooted habitual patterns and that of others. She talks about our assumption that we are 'seeing consensus' in our views of the world. We believe that we can have differing opinions but fail to understand that we might actually have fundamentally different views of the world and different internal structures. For us to evolve out of automatic patterns takes reflection on our inward patterns, development of an attention practice. She says, "Take a pause, centre yourself, so you are not going into a premature conclusion or projection about what will happen. A temporary silence brings you to your senses and enables you to be receptive to reality as it is occurring between two people".

Very clear on how knowing your enneagram type can help you with using meditation to overcome wrong perspectives which get in the way of seeing eye to eye with others.

Fascinating interview! BTW, does anyone know the title of the short documentary concerning Desmond Tutu? The one that Helen Palmer mentioned in the interview?
Despite English being my second language; within two weeks from reading the enneagram I could determine not only my first and secondary types, but also those of some thirty friends. I could even predict friends patterns of behavior to an amazing degree; like not only how they would behave in response to a situation, but even the precise pattern words they would use. You see; before I did the reading I have already been meditating by concentration for many years and already had a real strong intuition ( mystical experiences were a daily-occurrence ). The enneagram I could say was not only a great tool to read general patterns but also an excellent aid towards precise predictions. Experience speaks that the enneagram is an international tool. Potentially it could help all towards positive change. But for high health, obviously you need parallel help from some other means.Thanks for all those who helped put the enneagram at hand. Thanks for an excellent guest.

I'm listening to the gender divide in this conversation....there are business men and women who use pyschology to make their teams work....new décades. .. new thinking
The enneagram is not supposed to represent any combination of 9 Types.
It represents a combination of the Law of 3 and the law of 7.
Both Laws, share 1 common position. The top SUN position.
So all 9 type teachings are fake and against Gurdjieffs original intention.
I am trying to find the original version of the enneagram. Do you have any resources you can share? Thanks!
