I agree, I’ve seen it at a shoe store in Hawaii. The customer was charged an extra $2 for donation. She was upset and wanted to get her money back and return the shoes. She did not accept the cashiers apology or just silently accepted the refund she just kept going on about how she already donates to her church and felt robbed, and blah blah blah. I’m like 😩 it’s an extra $2 that went to donation for children with cancer, come on. I really don’t get people who goes to such great lengths to complain.

I’m pretty sure that the employee was handling things just fine mentally. Besides, if we place liability on others when they supposedly cause us anguish or trauma, it means lawsuits would increase in everyone’s lives by 500%. Physical harm is one thing, but emotional harm only happens if you let it.

The lid was a bit puckered but it wasn't moulton lava and she was able to carry the soup to the counter with no problem. She was being ridiculous. I hope she does get jail time. This behaviour should never be tolerated.

If I was the judge I'd give her the full year. I hate people who think its ok to be rude to people serving them. She rushed to the restaurant just so she could throw the hot soup at the manager. To me it's premeditated.
This wasn't about soup. She was taking out anger and frustrations about other things on the worker. If the super hot enough to melt the lid, she would have had a lot worse than stinging eyes and sinuses. She would have been blistering and need surgery.
So others one of two possibilities:
1. The soup really was that hot, and had cooled down enough to eat by the time she got in there and threw it, and which case why didn't she just eat it because it was cool enough by then. She was just looking for a confrontation.
2. The soup was never that hot to begin with, and she was just looking for a confrontation.
