Back in 1990, a lad from college gives me a tape with the word "Rave" written on it. This was the opening track! I had no idea who it was by or what it was called. I listened to that tape in the dark on headphones. Lots of shapes and colours.
I was in my 1st yr of uni so great timing🤪Still luv this, had forgotten about it. Invoking hairs standing on end, like I'm still jumping on the dance floor to this!
Similar for me - friend at school lent me tape with "Bleeps" written on, that she got from Camden Market.... just listened here with decent speakers for first time.
Best quote ever when I asked my mate what he was saying when he mimed along this classic choon?: "My son gave me a cheque that bounced" came out of his mouth and we all were on the floor in seconds...murder choon and well ahead when it came out as so many chucked out by the week by Kickin' Records at the time....most of them produced & engineered by some guy named Ralph Ruppert
Absolutely agree with you Massimo. I was there back in 1990. And before. 1988 actualy wen acid house just started to get big. I was young 17 years old. Like you said an absolute classic. Take care buddy.👍💙

Banga of a choon 👌 First heard this at my first illegal wharhouse party Leeds back end of 90, when I heard it I said wtf, been an old soul boy, but that sound grabbed me n pulled me in,luvd it from then 👌🎵🎹💊🎵🎹💊
classic you can hear what Prodigy ran with a few years later. These were the groundbreakers and these tracks still make people move on the dancefloor... they never got played to death.. many people think this is new when they hear it.
TOP 10 Fav tracks of all time. 2 minutes in and this tune just comes to life for me. such good memories. it took me ages to realise it was this that was sampled in the "matrix tune" .
Didn't realise till years later that hype was behind the scientist, this and other kickin records stuff. Before he was known as the legendary dj he is.
Camden Palace!!! Rocking to dis on the Dance floor bunnin a big spilff in front of 10k speakers! You look up and see the dj's opposite on decks. Big up to the Stokie man dem!!!!!! (Don't Mess with Stokie! Rude Boy!) Famous comment heard outside the Palace when they buss up some Idiot Enfield Bods trying to be wannabe Spurs Hooligans!!!!
It's one of the very first hardcore tunes made in the UK. Everything in '91 and '92 came after. I think it sounds similar to Liam Howlett's early Prodigy stuff, like he was heavily influenced by it.
Love this tune. This is what was playing when i first got into the scene. wyncyspyder, i'm the same, but for me it's at 2:01 the simple tune just does something to my feeble mind ;)
Spun regularly by DJ Michael Santer on WNUR Streetbeats show, and at The Smart Bar, Chicago Dance to fkkn 3 am Thrusday morning, leave the club soaking wet in 30F/-1C weather, sleep for 2 hours, go to work, then turn around and do it again.
No words other than WOW. Love this track. I was 15 years old when I first heard this. 33 years later and it still smashes it!! ❤
You know that 👊👊👌

This is dirty techno just the way it should be ....... lots of mysterious samples.... how it all started in Manchester for me
I was in London at the time (tho I'm from Lancashire) and those years 90-92 and onwards, it was like dance music was being completely reinvented.
This is not techno its breakbeat
I don't recall anybody caring at the time :)
