SDSU Pros + Cons from an Alum | *WHAT GOING TO STATE IS REALLY LIKE*

- Hi guys i wanted to share my personal pros and cons about san diego state. please keep in mind that this was just my experience and might be completely different than others or may not be what your experience will be like!
I was a first generation, low income, only child, college student so i really didnt have anyone to help me with this process, so i wanted to make this video for you guys to hopefully help.
Since ive already graduated from state i wanted to share my conclusive experience. i will say a lot things at state change for the better once you turn 21 and move out of on-campus housing! frat parties and that scene become less pertinent and you have house parties with your friends.
Also i forgot to mention how awesome the library is and how there are study halls and quiet floors where i pretty much lived during finals week/midterms and how beautiful campus is. and i wanted to point out that all professors are required to hold office hours where they can meet with students one on one, so if you have a large lecture hall you can always meet with your professors that way for questions if you are afraid to ask in front of the lecture hall.
ALSO, just know that there are THOUSANDS of people at state, you WILL find a group of friends that you jive with. there are all types of people on campus. if fraternities and sororities aren't your vibe, there are also people that feel that way on campus. at the beginning of your first year its a lot about putting yourself out there to make new friends. going out of your comfort zone or talking to the person you sit next to in class, etc. making friends can start as early as your freshman orientation! Clubs, intramural sports teams, classmates, coworkers, church groups, dorm mates, floor mates, are all great places to meet people you jive with!!

Sarah Rae EOP is so great. I am finishing up my freshman year and am in EOP currently. I don’t think we have priority registration anymore, unless in Guardian Scholars but everything you said was pretty spot on! Another thing to add is if you aren’t into partying and what not there is still a TON of cool people you can meet all over campus.

Also.. i totally just googled it and EOP doesn't get priority reg anymore and hasn't since 2006... so im so confused on what i was thinking lmao. i dont think i was in any other program to get it ?? lol

Hi Sarah! OMG!!! I am from Sacramento also! I am planning to transfer to SDSU in 2024...Currently I am at LA Tech in Los Angeles..I moved here about 13 years ago...now I cant wait to graduate! Thanks Sarah!

Hi I know this is a very late comment, but as for academics, I was wondering how the school work is? Is it hard and rigorous? I got accepted for biology but I was just wondering how hard the school work at SDSU is. Thank you
