    The CarpetBagger may be my favorite channel. There's a great mix of urban exploration, Americana and good ole fun. I started creating videos because of this channel. Keep up the awesome work, my whole family enjoys watching your videos, we even let the ads play. If your ever anywhere near the Saint Louis metro area and looking for awesome stuff and abandoned buildings, let me know. I'd either be happy to give you addresses, or escort you myself. I'm going to buy a shirt right now.

      Hugo, are you confusing Dan with "Exploring with Josh"..? The situations Dan found himself in, are in fact actual things that can happen when you UrbEx a building on the fly. I myself have had some close calls just finding a spot to drink with my friends as a teenager. Also, it is fairly common for dealers/direlict meth houses, to use animal parts/blood/spooky things and "Satanic" (LOL) graffiti to frighten away local crackheads and the like. So, I am not sure what you mean.

    I might add that this place was freaking me out until it got to the adorable ark scenes. Another reason my beliefs in God are vastly different from other people is because as a child, most biblical stories frightened me and gave me bad anxiety. I was not allowed to read a real bible because my family didn't want to scare me and I was also terrified of crucifixes because of a certain traumatic event with one so my grandmother was unable to take me to church as well. I only know Bible stories that can be "kiddie proofed"... So all I know is the story of Adam and Eve, Noah's Ark and Moses... Also, the birth of Jesus, to an extent. That's about it because I couldn't deal with anything darker and as an added note, "The Prince of Egypt" made it a lot easier to take in the Moses story and it is probably the darkest one that I can handle. (But on another added note, "The Prince of Egypt" is, in itself, an amazing movie!)

    I'm certainly not a creationist but honestly I'd visit. This museum looks gorgeous and its actually very surprising and nice that they have side by side teachings, so its a lot more reasoned than the stereotype of ignoring science in favor of scripture. Far too many places like this are completely one sided (though anything religion or politics is these days) so one that actually explains the difference between these teachings is a great thing to see.

    • @ajzeg01
      @ajzeg01 4 года назад

      Interesting theory, but there’s no evidence to support it. It doesn’t match up with the fossil record. It’s more likely that humans found fossils and filled in the blanks themselves or simply combined several known animals to create a mythical one. The Greeks did that all the time. Notice how dragons are like a combination of reptiles, bats, and predatory mammals like wolves. Combine that with humanity’s intrinsic fear of fire and you have a monster for the ages.

    It would actually be more logical to switch the "God's Word" and "Man's Word" labels. Observing the earth, the stars, the trees is closer to studying God's "word" - his cosmic language, if you will - than basing reality on words written down by men.

    In catholic school, I was taught that science and evolution were real and so was god. Dinosaurs never could or would be able to exist at the same time as man and were indeed carnivorous due to the small animal bones found in the areas where the stomach was. Man evolved from an ape and Lucy is the missing link and not some "special" species of ape. Man can tell lies and create laws based on their opinions and the Bible was made by the hand of man. Catholic School also taught me that.

    At 7:28, you can see the long neck of a dinosaur in the background, entering from the right side of the frame. I think the dino in the foreground right after that is eating a jackfruit. They are larger than a pineapple & not as spikey. (When I see them at Kroger, they only have one out at a time in the produce area b/c they take up so much space & not many people know how to use them.) Jackfruit is a good alternative to meat for vegetarians. You can cook it in barbeque sauce & it has the texture of pulled meat! It's hearty. Not that I've ever bought one raw & used it in cooking; I'm not much of a cook, so I've only eaten it already cooked. I have also bought frozen "crab" cakes made from jackfruit at Trader Joe's & they were quite yummy. They have another frozen jackfruit product, but I tried it & it was way too spicey (hot) for me.

    The story about the animals all having been vegetarian is not far off from what Native history says happened. The bible is the only source that is used to claim we were here for 10,000 years, other sources, which are much older, state we were here for millions of years and that ancient structures were built around 10 million years ago. According to Natives, we were caretakers. We took care of all the animals. Some threat came from the sky and we were saved underground by the "ant people". When we came from underground we found that the animals had turned on one another and we had to defend ourselves from many of them while the rest became fearful of us. We used to live alongside wild animals, in harmony with them. Up until around 400 years ago when we started digging up dinosaur fossils and majorly messing up what some of them looked like, we called them dragons, and it was well known that some were still around, alive. The story of the flood, is all over the world. It's really about when the ice caps melted at the end of the last ice age, raising sea levels dramatically and wiping out all coastal cities, towns, and villages around the world as well as many islands and island nations. The creation story is too, so are the stories about dragons and giants. That all had to come from somewhere. I think it's obvious that we all share a common history that was lost to us.

    I respect everyone's right to have an opinion on any issue, and I respect your tour of this museum. Even though to me it's obvious that evolution happened without God's persuasion, I'm not going to bash them for thinking the way they do. It's an interesting mix between creationism and evolution, which is odd. Just can't stop thinking that a church could spend 2 million dollars on a building and not helping the community with that money.

    I appreciate you showing us these less-conventional museums. I consider myself a Christian, but I also don’t like how some things are handled. Science is indisputable, but the Bible and science can coexist. The Bible itself is FULL of contradictions and it’s up to each person to decide what is and isn’t meant literally.
