Wow that's amazing for me 😮. Cause I'm from Pakistan Peshawar city. I study at Khan academy here we have, I go there every afternoon. But the good news for me is that - that we studied today momentum.
    😊

I grasp the implication of momentum however I do not understand what momentum itself is.

It is a mathematical quantity which has physical significance like how i understood it is it helps us to understand some physical phenomena but isn't a physical quantity itself. It is mathematical in nature and people get confused because they think momentum is a fundamental property of an object but it is not. I am saying this again it is a mathematical quantity

Earlier, I also tried to interpret the momentum. I mean what exactly it is... I understand that if a ball has more momentum then it hurts more but again I can't relate it physically. I need you think it like a mathematical equation relating mass and velocity. That 'more momentum more hurt' part, it has do with the energy possessed by a moving mass.
Kinetic energy is also directly related with mass and velocity squared. It is my way of thinking about momentum. Hope that helps.
