    Not to counter your great suggestions, Reggie ... But, the VERY best way to use garlic is to ingest it raw ... NOT cook it ... in order to get the fullest benefit of its healing properties. First step is to peel one clove, crush it, and leave it to aerate on a ceramic saucer for 15 minutes ... which releases its healing enzyme "ALLICIN". I usually use a rice cake, add sesame butter and Manuka honey (both of which have antibacterial qualities), spread on the crushed garlic ... and eat that every two hours. This keeps it in your system on a regular basis ... Even four times a day has amazing results. I healed walking pneumonia in less than 40 hours doing this. As you said, this works better than antibiotics, as it doesn't destroy your valuable flora or have any of the other unhealthy side effects that antibiotics do. It also attacks ALL forms of virus and bacteria ... as opposed to how antibiotics only attack specific pathogens. And by all means, do all the other things you suggest ... adding to soups, etc.

      Great comment Thomas. I agree with you 100% about eating the garlic raw. That is the best way. I personally just cannot get used to the taste of it :) That's why I put it in my soup. I know it is said that cooking garlic destroys the Allicin but I found that having garlic in my soup still helped me a lot. Just my personal experience. Thank you.

      Hi! I also agree with you on everything you say but some say that after you chop the garlic or crush it, you should leave it to aerate 5 or 10 minutes and others say 15. I’m wondering which is the correct timing?

    I'm dealing with a lot right now. Went to oral surgeon again today. I've been on heavy antibiotics for 3 weeks, he extended it 2 more weeks, and prescribed another one. The second was denied by VA. He suggested IV antibiotics, since they wouldn't fill it. The ER doctor said I don't need IV antibiotics yet and sent me home with just the original antibiotic. The problem is that in the past 2 weeks the infection has gotten worse, while on only this antibiotic. The couldn't get me in for surgery to clean out the infection for almost 2 weeks, because of the holiday. So I have an infection that looked pretty bad with the imaging the oral surgeon did. I overheard the ER doctor talking with my nurse about broad spectrum antibiotics being needed, but no beds were available. I can't guarantee they were talking about me, but the doctor came back in shortly after and told me the infection wasn't systemic yet, so I didn't need the IV antibiotics yet.

    I use garlic as an antibiotic almost exclusively. I don't have insurance right now, so it's a must.
    It's amazing, but sometimes hard to find fresh and not mutated.
    I make fresh raw garlic water. Peel 2-3 full bulbs of garlic (~8000-12000 mcg activated allicin), and use a garlic crusher. Load the crusher one clove at a time, hold it under-water in a fresh half gallon of of reverse-osmosis purified water, and crush it while under the water.. until all of it is crushed. Stir and let it sit in the refrigerator for ~10-15 minutes before pouring your first cup. You then have a powerful half-gallon of allicin water that's good for ~2 days. I use a metal tea filter and pour cups of this. It's actually a lot more powerful than chewing and your stomach will notice.. I gargle with it and drink it. If you're not used to it, it will take your stomach some getting used to. My stomach is so adjusted to it, so unless I go way overboard I experience no discomfort. I used this method the first time I got COVID as well (before vaccinations came out), and recovered quickly. I'd go through at least a half gallon per day when sick, if not more, to constitute full doses of antibiotic. Allicin has a short half-life of about 2 days, and is basically useless if you cook it. No matter how well prepared, cooking it will kill almost all of the beneficial properties of the allicin. Right now I'm using it to deal with a nasty ear infection.

    • @davidwalker6960
      @davidwalker6960 Год назад +2

      Making garlic water also saves you the trouble of constantly peeling and eating garlic throughout the day.

    • @davidwalker6960
      @davidwalker6960 Год назад +4

      Yep. Though, I wouldn't take more than a bulb a day normally, if you take too much over a long period of time it can cause liver damage. I'll use ~3 full bulbs per day for a week for an infection, but only for a week. For someone my weight, I'd have to consume ~5 full bulbs per day for a month to start affecting my liver with hepatotoxicity. Or ~25 bulbs per day for a week. But those are ridiculous quantities. People can safely consume a full bulb every day indefinitely for a safe level of health benefits, roughly .25 grams of raw garlic per pound of body weight per day. It got rid of that ear infection I had literally overnight.

    • @davidwalker6960
      @davidwalker6960 Год назад +3

      That's one of the reasons I like making the water... I sit and peel 3 full bulbs, about 30 cloves, but it's worth it, and a lot cheaper and more effective than modern antibiotics. Of course the pharmaceutical industry would love to keep that knowledge safely tucked away in anecdotes. It's difficult to extract allicin for use as it has such a short lifespan, so they can't market it for profit, so they try to vilify it instead. They make "liver toxicity" pages to scare people off, but they don't mention that the amount you'd have to consume to even start to become toxic is ridiculous amounts that nobody would do. Who would eat 5 big bulbs per day every day for a month? Even I'm not that weird. After a week (if I used it for an infection) I cut down to 3-4 cloves per day.

      Allicin in garlic (the powerful sulfur compound antibiotic) is only produced by crushing it or bruising it.
      It's a natural defense mechanism of the garlic. It does *not* produce allicin when swallowed whole, or slicing. Digestion does not produce allicin. Without crushing the garlic, the alinin and alliinase enzymes are broken down and not converted to allicin. It must be crushed/chewed/bruised prior to consuming to be effective. Having said that, I'm glad you recovered!!

      Great point Carlos. I don't think garlic can cure all infections and I don't think there is a study that will support that. At least I have not come across any. I personally had a bad infection on my finger one time which worsened rapidly and I had to take antibiotics to clear if quick before I risk losing my finger. But for most of the infections I get especially if I just starting to feel something, I eat garlic and it helps. This is the biggest advantage that I see with garlic is that you can take it as prophylactic or at the earliest sign of an infection unlike antibiotics.

      Angie A. There are a few possible answers. One is that not all doctors know this. If the doctor is not into natural medicine, they won't know about this. Or if their training is mostly drugs, then that's what they will recommend. Another is that these powerful drug companies send out drug reps to get doctors to prescribe the drugs they make. Some companies even incentivize the doctors who prescribe a lot of their drugs.

    In the Dominican Republic what we do is take fresh garlic and cut it down to small pieces (the smaller the less spicy it will taste) and combine it with honey, since both Honey and Garlic are anti-bacterial. 3years ago the wife woke up in pain with a throat bacteria I was trying to get her to take garlic with honey, but she say it hurt so bad that she had to take antibiotics. She did and the pain went away next day, but she had to keep taking the antibiotics for 7days I think to make sure it killed all the bacteria, and if you don't it can come back. On the 3rd day I woke up with the same sore throat but with little less pain, but I was ready and started to take my honey with chop garlic 3 times a day and during the day I would drink warm tea with honey. By the 5th day she started to get this really bad red spots all over her body that were really itchy so she stop taking the antibiotics and the itchiness went away within a few hours. By her 7th day, I had already recover almost 90% and she ended up waking up with the same sore throat. This time she was like F**K antibiotics, give me that honey with chop garlic. Am not saying that antibiotics are not useful, they can be used at really specific situations, but first try natural remedies if you have time. For example, the fact that she was in a lot of pain that she could not take it, for it was reasonable to take antibiotic to take away the pain, but after the pain is gone, then try to go natural.

    I am somewhat convinced that the 3 vaccines from the pandemic affected my body to mount a good response to this flu bug. And I think I have had walking pneumonia ever since, my doctor didn't want to give me antibiotics because he said that because my phlegm was clear/slightly white and not green/brown which would not indicate a bacterial infection.
    So I have been suffering for 6 months, sleeping in the spare room because the coughing at night disturbs my wife sleeping (I completely agree with her)
    I have always hated the taste/smell of garlic, but its time to man-up and give it a try. I have crushed 3 cloves and mixed it with honey -swallow it as fast as possible to try and avoid the taste as much as possible. Im on the second dose of 3 cloves so total 6 cloves so far. I'm going to do a weeks treatment like this.
    I will post an update on how it goes.
    And yeah, I can definitely relate to this video getting sick often, even before this flu bug hit me I was always extremely prone to catching colds and flu, and always seemed to be the last person in the family to recover. Fingers crossed for the garlic!

      I said I would post an update, so here it is.
      Really an outstanding difference since starting the garlic treatment, Within 1-2 days I noticed a big difference in the inflammation in my lungs, to cough up the mucous and phlegm was much easier.
      The dose I started with was 3-4 cloves twice a day. So a maximum of 7-8 cloves a day.
      At the 4 day mark I would say that I was nearing getting back to relatively "normal" I still have a bit of a cough, but nothing like what it was like before. I have now reduced the dose to 2 cloves a day, 1 in the morning and one in the evening.
      The negative was that I was absolutely stinking of garlic, mostly comes out in the breath, but also the smell coming out of my pores. Really bad smell. The wife wasn't happy at all about that, and plus understandably with good reason it made me really nervous and wary about any socializing outside of the house.
      Another side affect while taking the high dose was low energy levels in the afternoon/evening. Garlic can be a relaxant, so I guess high doses can make you over relaxed or tired.

      @@deanclements1839 Thank you for the update. I am happy to hear that you are feeling better. I understand what you mean. My son tells me my breath stinks when I eat more garlic when I don't feel well. The good news is those effects are temporary. They go away shortly after you stop eating garlic. I hope you continue to feel better.

      Second update, after the first round of garlic treatment I stopped for a while, I had some throat irritation. After stopping the lung trouble came back slightly.
      So then I started another round of garlic treatment, this time just 1 clove in the morning and another clove in the evening, again it has cleared up the chest infection and so far it hasn't come back again. However the garlic once again has given me throat irritation like a mild chemical burn at the back of my throat.
      Throat feels like its getting better now, and my chest feels like its continuing to recover to a complete recovery.
      So just a word of warning to look out for any burning from the garlic, I should have stopped when I started to feel it burning, because it could have saved me a few uncomfortable days.

    I usually take aspirin when I get pain in my left side of chest. I’ve done this a couple of times. But tonight I didn’t find any aspirin so I took a tablespoon of garlic that I chopped up from my freezer. Pain went away and yes I let garlic sit for over 10 minutes.
