You demonstrate and explain things very clear. And your video is very crisp and clear. Outstanding video. Thank you for this video, more power to you and God bless
Thanks for the very informative video. I've been putting off CEL code P2251/P0134 for over a year thinking it might be a tough job. Turned out my B1S1 (upper near firewall) was dead and took only 30 mins and $120 CAD to replace. CEL now finally gone and car drives better. Damn laziness.
Thank you for a very comprehensive and clear explanation. One question: Do we need to remove the sensor to do the multimeter test, can we not do it while it is still mounted? I recently started to get P0159 (Bank 2, Sensor 2) message for my 2013 RDX and i don't have the sensor removal tool.
You cannot tell if a sensor is faulty just by measuring the heater resistance alone. The 6.4 Ohms measured in the video was the heater resistance which is typically between 1 to 20 Ohms for an Oxygen sensor. To test the sensor it needs to reach temperature and then the voltage from the output pins on the sensor measured at idle and high revs. This is easier to measure with live OBD diagnostics and monitoring the waveform.
Agreed, on a modern vehicle a scan tool is certainly quicker and incredibly precise. However, on older obd2 vehicles, the repair manual recommends testing via multi meter. I tend to show the multi-meter because not everyone has a scan tool. Appreciate the comment.
By bench testing the sensor with multi meter your able to verify the sensor works, while bypassing the vehicle wiring to. Because the code is for o2 sensor "circuit" low voltage . Not only the sensor, so it could be bad wire too!
P0160 (Bank2 Sensor 2) 02 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected. Got that one on my 2001 Maxima. been getting it for about a year off and on. Was able to get it to pass emissions barely with it. now will be going to replace it failing O2 sensor. I found the correct Denso O2 Sensor on eBay for $21. I couldn't pass that up. Car is now my son's 1st car. (Autozone its $130 , Dealer part is $190)
hi i liked your video, thumbs up. i have question about 2012 toyota camry se, so all oxygen sensors are same ? i would like to buy and replace myself for bank 1 sensor 2, so i am wondering if bank 1 sensor 1 and sensor 2 are different than eachothers? or sensors are same, but places are different depends on bank and before\after catal.?
Love your tutorial!!! I have a 2007 kia sedona and engine light came on. I took it to Auto Zone and the code was P2195 O2 Sensor Signal stuck lean Bank 1 Sensor 1. I did some more research and i found that P2195 code possible cause could be front heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1(front of engine like in your video). What do you think?
Ahh now I got a p0157 on my Honda Odyssey. Looks just like this car engine. I know the sensor is bad my scan tool has o2 sensor tests functions and it failed one This must be a Honda v6 . Good view underneath. Also they color code the sensor wire insulation. And plug harness will only fit into the correct location to make sure you don’t get them crossed 3:40 11:41 6:00
I'm getting the P0037 - HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low, Bank 1 Sensor 2. The replacement sensor had the wrong connector attached, so we had to cut the connector from the old part and splice it onto the new one. We installed the new part and this is now the code after erasing. Is it possible it is now wired wrong?
I had a check engine light on my Toyota 3 cylinder I only got 17k mileage on my car , I used my scan tool and got 1 error code only " P0138 O2 Sensor Circuit high Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 2". I know its my downstream O2 sensor , I remove and clean the o2 sensor, check the pins and wirings its all good. Then I clear the code using my scan tool and re scan again and the error code was removed and the check engine light is gone. I turn on and off the engine several times to see if the check engine light will lit up and used the car for hours but its not showing any check engine. the check engine light will lit up again like the next day I will use the car the first time I started it sometimes check engine will lit up but sometimes its not. Its like you cant tell when it will show up. Should I replace the o2 sensor? or there is something i need to check why I my downstream sensor is acting weird.thanks
Did you reset the CEL (Check engine light) ? If not pull both battery terminals and hold them together to drain the memory for the diagnostic code, about 60 seconds. If it comes back, you have to read that code and go from there.
I’m getting code: P0137 “Low voltage Sensor 2” in a 2004 Honda Accord 2.4 SULEV.. I’ve change both sensors (up and down) and the CAT but still get the same code, which is setting off the CEL.. I’m going to pull the new sensor 2 out and check it and likely replace it, but it’s a new Denso so I’m not sure if I’ll find it bad right out of the box.. Any ideas??
So my check engine light recently came on. Plugged the scanner code P0158 popped up. I replaced the o2 sensor, cleared the check engine light, and took the car for a drive. 10 minutes into driving the check engine light came back on. Same code as before P0158. The car runs, drives perfect, and idles perfect. Any suggestions ? Thanks
@@aydiabrooks8422 yes. So in total two o2 sensors. Front ( B2S2 ) which is the lower front one and ( B2S1 ) which is the rear lower one. Hope this helps. Fixed my problem. Code never popped up again.
My scan tool shows live data. It shows bank 1 1.274V for o2S B1-S2 but for bank 2 it shows 0.423. Bank 1 doesn't change no matter if idle or 3000rpm. I am getting the P0138 voltage high on o2 sensor B2 S2. I assume the sensor is dead since it has no response. Is that correct? bank 1 downstream is dead?
Hi can you tell me P11DB code please someone, I've replaced the top oxygen sensor in the manifold but the codes still coming back, I cleared the fault but still came back. The car drives and goes as normal, ?
Obd2 p0137 error, I replaced the sensor bank 1 sensor 2, after the catlityc converter, but check engine still on, I deleted the code and disappeared but after 5 starts came back on again idk what to do it's a new car (Ford fiesta 2018 1.1l, 3 cylinder)

Hi my Acura tl 2010 exhaust smell very bad and the car started showing check emission system with a check engine light,l cleaned my maf sensor and erased the codes but next day it came up again can anyone tell me something about it 😢
i appreciate that you showed that obd scanner, it is much better than the junk i see on the internet
Very informative, appreciate all your help. Such a satisfying feeling when you can test it with the multimeter and confirm it’s not working. 👍
Glad it was helpful!
You should be a teacher
Great voice, clear explanation. Thank you
You really take time to educate the viewer. Thanks.

p22272 is missing, amzing video, been looking all morning and finally found my sensor. thank you
Thanks for explaining everything. Some videos dont explain anything as if we already know just because they know doesnt mean us laymans know!!

I have o2 sensor codes. And the p2251. What did u do to find issue. Thanks in advance
This was perfectly done and very easy to follow...thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, this is a very thorough video. And extremely informative.
Thank you for explaing to us what a upper and lower o2 sensor is and where it is and the difference. Most videos dont show or explain this.
You are patient and clear and I thank you for this video. Amazing.

Can you test the sensor by just unplugging it and testing the resistance rather than removing the whole unit?

I Have the same code after I replaced b1s2 02 sensor. Did you figure out the problem?
I replaced a 02 sensor but the engine light back on. Still ready 02 sensor but I replaced it twice. Do I have to drive until it resets!?
Did you reset the CEL (Check engine light) ? If not pull both battery terminals and hold them together to drain the memory for the diagnostic code, about 60 seconds. If it comes back, you have to read that code and go from there.

Your test at 11:27 is only testing the heater resistance in the sensor! It is not testing the actual sensor.
My bosch 16513 is showing 8 - 9 ohms. How do you know the sensor is bad with an ohm reading?

Remember when cars were simple and didn’t need any of this stupid sensors? Keep it simple ppl!
Hello
Yes ask google for a diagram
too bad this information of using the multimeter is incorrect. Cant diagnose o2 like that
looks like same motor for honda pilot
My code is p0158 :(
What about PO420 for Honda CR-V?
